Absolutely stunning meal. Tiny restaurant with only about 10 covers - set tasting menu is beautifully thought out and delicious and for the quality of the cooking , very good value. Four days later I am still thinking about it and debating with my husband which were our favourite courses ! Hastings is not somewhere I usually go I - over an hour and a half away but the long drive was totally worth it. Like the other diners we spoke to ( tables are close together) we went on the back of the Times review which highly recommended Lury and “implored “ readers to go. We did. We did not regret it for one minute and will definitely go back !

Friendly and efficient staff, comfortable seating, and - most importantly - tasty food and wine. I really enjoyed my lunch here and will definitely return.

This restaurant has been a bit hit and miss in recent years but this week we enjoyed an excellent lunch. Chicken Supreme and Greek Salad with chicken. The portions were generous and the standard was high. The prices, although at the high end, are ok as the food is good. Sadly it wasn't warm enough to eat outside but afterwards we ordered coffees to be served on the terrace and the sun did show. It might make for a more sophisticated experience if the waiting staff were better trained and given uniforms including footwear. This was the only downside on this visit. Will definitely return.
