Situated on the corner of New Road, the Birdcage is opposite Brixham Theatre and sits right at the heart of the local community. Formerly known as the Bolton Hotel, the pub occupies a Grade II listed building and has been on the site since the 19th Century. We're proud to offer a menu packed with the most appetising dishes. Welcome to The Elephant Restaurant The Elephant is a bright, informal restaurant which is situated near the beautiful Torbay harbour. It was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. We aim to source all our ingredients locally and sustainably, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham. Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy. Food is cooked by a talented team of chefs and served by friendly, professional team of staff.Due to the style of cooking we cannot produce dairy free menus & therefore cannot provide vegan options.A deposit is required to make reservations on special days of the year, on our special events, or for tables of 6 or more. This is paid over the phone by calling 01803 200044. Children's menu is only available at lunch for ages 10 and under.Tasting menu only available in the evening unless requested via phone in advance.

Our waitress was very good but sadly they didn’t have any olives available. I ordered the ravioli which wasn’t cooked through in my opinion. The waitress refunded us for a glass of wine which was kind but I wouldn’t rush back to the pub

We went to the Birdcage as a family for a Sunday Roast and were not at all disappointed. We didn’t know what to expect when we first arrived however the service was really good, the lady serving was lovely and the food was so tasty. One of the nicest roasts I’ve had in a while.
