Franklin E. Barmore Sr. kaufte 1940 das Land auf dem sich heute das Restaurant Shrimp Box befindet, um es zu einem kommerziellen Fischereipier zu machen. Die Barmore Familie, bestehend aus Frank Sr., Edith und Frank Jr., führte den Pier und den angrenzenden Fischhandel, der Fisch verkaufte und entlang der Atlantikküste transportierte. Im Jahr 1953 beschlossen Frank Jr. und Mom Barmore (jetzt eine Witwe), einen kleinen Stand mit Meeresfrüchten zum Mitnehmen zu eröffnen, um für Beschäftigung zu sorgen. Nach einigen Jahren war der Stand so erfolgreich, dass er in das Fischgeschäft umzog (die heutige Lobby und Teil der Küche) und erweiterte von ursprünglich 4 Barstühlen auf 36 Sitzplätze. Frank Barmore starb 1982, und hinterließ das Restaurant seiner Frau und seinen Töchtern. Am Ende der Saison 1999 ging die Eigentümerschaft der Shrimp Box an Nick Gyftakis und George Pappas über. Nick und George sind bereits seit den 1970er Jahren gemeinsam im Geschäft. Die gemeinsame Restauranterfahrung der beiden garantiert Ihnen ein gastronomisches Erlebnis, dass Sie in Erinnerung behalten werden.
