Bright and airy, with a vintage retro style and featuring distressed wooden tables topped in white marble, salvage greenhouse window frames and comfy linen banquettes, Salt continues Avoca’s emphasis on serving delicious, seasonal dishes with largely locally sourced ingredients. Salt's name comes its Salthill locale - which itself was derived from salt works that were once here - plus the nearby sea and, of course, the seasoning. Menus are fresh and interesting (see below), with plenty of appetizing salads and lighter lunch dishes, reasonably priced for the casual mid-week crowd.

Really great food, highly recommend the pot stickers and the aromatic duck. Service was excellent. My only criticism is that it was cold in the restaurant, when making a reservation ask for a table that is not on the right hand side near the door. I have been in MAK many times, this is not a new problem for them.

Very good experience in Avoca Salt restaurant. The half roast chicken Caesar salad was excellent. Quite a lot of chicken but I finished it. God value for money. Staff were attentive and efficient. I’ll be back. 😊
