Best Kid Friendly Restaurants in Avon-by-the-Sea

We enjoyed a birthday dinner for mom and a friend at our local CJ McLoone's restaurant. Food, drinks and service were excellent. Will return!!!!

The Shrimp Box is a gem of a restaurant at the Jersey Shore! It’s owned by a wonderful family that is very hands on and takes great pride in what they’ve created! The food is always fresh and fabulous and the wait staff are all very friendly and accommodating! The icing on the cake is the beautiful water views to enjoy while dining. It’s our favorite place for a casual dinner or family celebration.

Maybe I’m picky, or my wife cooks too well, but this was the first time in a long time I haven’t gone out to eat at a restaurant and thought “…we could have made this better.” And for Valentine’s Day I kinda expected the service to suffer a bit, but the staff were great, everything came out well timed, and the food was phenomenal. Just an all around great experience, I would definitely go back.

We haven’t been to the restaurant in a while, and my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised with the wonderful menu and the quality of food. We can’t wait to go back to try some of the other dishes. We also really enjoyed the selection of non-alcoholic drinks. My only criticism was that they need to step it up a little bit with the dessert offerings. Our meals were delicious.

Fun and bright retro diner atmosphere. Food was very good- burger and salad with grilled chicken. As a salad afficionado, I doubted a diner could pull it off well. Chicken was tasty, moist and served on a skewer and fried goat cheese was an unexpected bonus. The only negative was that bowling had been advertised online for our Valentine's Day date but the waitress said marketing had posted the event in error. Two other disappointed couples arrived to the diner asking for the same.
