My wife and I were celebrating our 52nd wedding anniversary and selected Meritage - East Greenwich, for our choice - never disappointed and close to home, it was the place to go! Although it was Cinco de Mayo, we were placed in a corner table where there was a "resemblance of quiet!" Kailin, our waitress, couldn't have been nicer, attentive and knowledgeable! Bread, butter and dipping oil came immediately with our dishes beautifully presented by the gentleman "runner." My wife had the Oven Roasted Cod with a bacon crusted topping, asparagus and mashed potatoes. She loved the large portion she received and took the remaining half home for a "midnight snack! My Ribeye steak was cooked to perfection - a beautiful char on the outside (with lobster butter on top) and middle-well inside - again, the way I like it! Mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes were the standard sides. Not wanting to be a glutton, I saved 1/4 of the meal for a Tuesday dinner! As I stated, the service by Kailin was "top-shelf" - the 8oz goblet of Rose that I ordered was taken care of by Kailin as a congratulations on our 52nd wedding anniversary! Returned to Iron Works on Monday night which was also Cinco de Mayo. A very large crowd was standing around the bar area, making it challenging for staff and other guests to move around the dining room. Management was successfully on top of the situation and things did quiet as the crowd seemed to move on, making it less noisy. The food and cocktails were excellent. Both the swordfish and salmon were perfectly cooked and are prepared with interesting and delicious accompaniments. We very much like this menu and look forward to trying more selections soon. Our server was outstanding. The food was exceptional and the Happy Hour prices were incredible. Would definitely recommend Happy hour every day.
