- JJoelleNew York City •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoDhamaal redefines Indian food for many of us. The dishes are so creative and reflect a much wider diversity of Indian cuisine. The presentation is stunning, served in dishes and containers that are specially ordered from India. Our waitress, Dia, was incredibly attentive and helpful. I can't wait to return to this treasure of a restaurant.More infoDhamaal - MontclairPrice: Moderate• Indian• Montclair•4.6
- JJoeNew York City •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoDelicious! Standout dishes were the ceviche, fried yucca, and the steak with pesto tagliatelle! The classic ceviche was great, the leche de tigre was refreshing and had the perfect amount of twang, as was the white fish (Sea Bass was the catch of the day). The fried calamari and veggies made it accessible for my family at the table who weren't familiar with ceviche and not necessarily adventurous eaters. Fried yucca had a good crisp with a soft bite, retained heat well and was smothered in a delectable, creamy yellow sauce. You should try all three sauces, though! The steak-- wow! I was heavily considering the Lomo Saltado, but ended up going with the steak because the pesto pasta looked great, and it was! Finely cooked and seasoned steak with a light chimichurri was a smoky medium on the rarer side. The pasta had a good bite and the soft creamy pesto was delicious. It made for a good dipping sauce as well. I definitely enjoyed the octopus and pulled chicken croquettes, but I wasn't blown away by either dish. Overall, the food was more than enough for a hungry family of 4 and the bill was just over $30 per person. I'm very satisfied with the value and quality of the food! The restaurant is a quaint but cute luncheonette-style diner car with tasteful decor and art. Great location in downtown Montclair, but that means that street parking is hard to come by, good luck! Overall 9/10 birthday dinner, I will definitely return to try the lomo saltado!More infoFusionista - Modern Peruvian CuisinePrice: Expensive• Peruvian• Montclair•4.6
