- SStephenVIPLos Angeles •51 reviews5.0Dined 3 days ago71Above is definitely “above.” I was fortunate enough to have dinner with my family last Saturday night at 71Above. From top to bottom it was an excellent experience! Naturally, my fear and suspicion in regards to a restaurant in a building’s penthouse is that it will charge for the view and then deliver substandard food. Thankfully, that was not the case at 71Above. The check-in was super smooth, and all seven of us were able to check in at the front desk and take the elevators up to the restaurant as we arrived. Those of us who arrived slightly early had time to wait at the bar, which allowed us to enjoy glasses of Prosecco along with a stunning sunset over Los Angeles. Once we had all arrived, we were promptly seated, and while not directly next to the window, that was not necessary. Every seat in the restaurant has a commanding view, so if you are a “windows only” person that’s just unneeded fuss. We were there for the three course prix fixe meal, and although there were seven of us, everyone felt that the options for all three courses were more than sufficient. As I previously mentioned, the food was fantastic. My steak was absolute perfection as was the grilled octopus appetizer and cheese plate dessert. The service was collectively, top-notch, especially our lead; very professional and personable. In addition, the service was well paced. We were given plenty of time during and between each course, and never felt hurried or rushed. At the end of the evening, everyone was very pleased, sated, and expressed a desire to return for another meal later in the year.More info71AbovePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Downtown•4.8

- KKaraPhiladelphia County •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoHonestly such a cool bar. Started waiting for our reservation by the bar area then was taken to our table out on the patio by the band. If you’re seated by the band it’s very loud for conversation but my party was there for a bday so we didn’t mind. We started with the octopus and eggplant dishes. Got the porterhouse steak a pasta dish with clams and of course desert. Everything was perfect and I CANNOT BELIEVE what we paid for what we got. - DDebraVIPLos Angeles •18 reviews5.0Dined on Jun 25, 2025Water Grill has a great reputation and the DTLA location did not disappoint. A 3 minute walk from the Biltmore Hotel makes it convenient if in the area. The menu is extensive and cocktails are creative. Service is efficient. Seasonal items are a good choice to try something different. Wild salmon was the choice this visit. It was cooked to perfection.More infoWater Grill – Los AngelesPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Downtown•4.6
