Best Family Style Restaurants in Highwood

Rosebud Deerfield is our favorite Italian Restaurant, and we have been to many, including La Scarola on Grand Avenue downtown, and Volare in Streeterville. The service is polite, courteous, and attentive. The food, from salads to appetizer, to pasta, veal chops, and fish are all outstanding. The Maitre D's are polite, friendly and genuinely care about one's dinner experience. We will return again soon.

Our first time , greeted promptly and warmly. Very accommodating as to seating. attentive service, extensive explanations for every dish. Plenty of time to make our selections. Pricing is probably consistent with this caliber steakhouse. Side portions plentiful and some came home with us. Steak perfect. Everything prepared as described. Extensive wine list, but we stayed with beer and ice tea. Enthusiastic staff succeeded in making our occasion very special. Our Taste buds thoroughly enjoyed Rosebuds

Pinstripes is a unique venue. The Bocci courts and bowling lanes are a fun diversion, and round out a wonderful evening entertainment. The food service relies on a team approach, which can lack focus on diner's needs. For the most party, the staff is young and attentive, knows the menu and is helpful in explaining the menu, knowledgeable about the items being offered. Weather permitting, the outside dining area is delightful, and much quieter. We've enjoyed the restaurant individually, with our grandchildren, for special events and group dining with old friends, and will continue to include Pinstripes in our plans.

Great food and service. My husband and I sat on the outside deck. We both loved the beef stroganoff with noodles, a summer salad, and a slice of honey cake. We will definitely go back to try other dishes.
