Best rib eye I’ve ever eaten. Creative specials and yesterday’s white crab with brown crab custard worked brilliantly. Excellent menu choice for coeliacs like me and the GF spiced plum and apple crumble with custard was a rare joy. Staff are friendly and funny in a good way. Good value for money. It’s not pub grub it’s properly thought through creative and carefully cooked restaurant food that was a complete pleasure from first morsel to last bite. Thank you.

A serendipitous return to il bistro after our London to Brighton off road. We were welcomed by our gracious host and owner who remembered us from last year, even what we ate! It was an absolutely wonderful dinner, my Porchetta was the best I’ve had and must have taken hours to render to carefully, and the sardine starters made a star out of such humble ingredients. My only regret is that we didn’t have time to have pudding or taste their superb wines. Hope to see you again next year!

Amazing food! As a vegetarian roasts can be really hit and miss, however this was absolutely fantastic, will definitely be coming back for more.
