We take reservations starting one week in advance of your desired date--seven days in advance, starting at 11 AM online and over the phone. And with Broadway's staggered start times, things get tricky, so if your desired time is unavailable online, please give us a call; we hold a certain number of tables for phone reservations only. For parties of six or more, please call the restaurant directly.Because of staggered theater times we can only guarantee reservations made online for one-and-a-half hours for parties of two, and two hours for parties of three or more. Apologies, but we don't reserve tables "only for drinks."For reservations after theater, please check your show's running time on our website.Since 1965, Joe Allen has been a quintessential New York restaurant serving a classic American menu in the heart of the Theater District. Just two blocks from Times Square, it has been a favorite of Broadway performers, locals, and tourists for almost 50 years.

We always forget about this place since there are many other Italian restaurants in the neighborhood but then we go here and remember that it is very good!!! The pasta (orecchiette) was very delicious....it was more of a pesto than the usual broccoli rabe/sausage combo and I really enjoyed it. The pizzas are great too with that nice bit of char on the crust. Yum. We were seeing performance nearby and had a bit of time so we ordered dessert. Oddly, it took some time to be served. I say "oddly" because up until then the service was great. We had to eat it quickly to make the show. Not sure what happened but overall the experience was excellent. We will definitely go back.
