First time in the new addition- beautiful room with a great view of the water. The food was delicious, carpaccio starter and veal piccata were perfect. Waitstaff super friendly and the place was packed and they still were smiling!! A really fun scene, we will be back for sure!

Personal service, small restaurant, so reservations are a must. A lot of time and effort goes into each plate. Creative menu, everything was delicious from the cocktail and mocktail to dessert. A great place to celebrate any special occasion.

We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation. The restaurant was not that busy, so we were seated with no problem. My wife had a Cosmo, which was the appropriate size, and she said it was excellently prepared according to her request. I had a Martini, which was quite good, but I feel, quite skimpy. There was significant room left in the glass for more. This was the only real negative we had. However, the skimpy Martini was offset by the huge glasses of Malbec we each ordered. It was the biggest glass of red wine in a restaurant I can recall. We each left half a glass, which broke our hearts because it was a tasty Malbec. Moving on to the food. We had a garlic pizza as an appetizer. It came loaded with garlic and piping hot. Both of us enjoyed it. I had grilled Ahi Tuna on a bed of shredded squash. It was perfectly prepared, seasoned, and tasted wonderful. My wife had Penne Salmon in a vodka sauce. Once again, it was very hot, perfectly prepared, and delicious. For dessert, my wife had coconut cream pie; It was a large portion and the best rendition of this dish my wife has ever had. I had the Banana bread with candied walnuts and a great sweet sauce. Service was timely and very polite. The ambiance was enjoyable, blending a classic old restaurant with a contemporary menu. We loved the place and cannot wait to return.

The restaurant and staff are amazing. I don’t think there’s anything you could pick on the menu that would be a bad choice but my husband and I had the beef Wellington and the scallops and they were absolutely fantastic.

Two couples getting together for a casual Sunday lunch and conversation at Akemi. Great Japanese combos and bentos. Generously-sized portions, pleasant and attentive waitress. We enjoyed tonkatsu, tempura, salmon, miso soup and sides (especially refreshing cabbage salad and delicious brussels sprouts!). Background music not loud. Pricier but well worth it, IMO. Restaurant's signage is subtle so be on the lookout if it's a first visit--we initially drove right by it.
