The entire staff was welcoming and helpful, the food and service were outstanding for Sunday roast. I wish they hadn’t run out of the chicken however!

AS we had a reservation, we were greeted & seated promptly and offered water. All the waiting staff were extremely courteous & helpful and explained what our options were as one of us is vegetarian. The food arrived in a timely manner and was prepared to a very high standard. Although we had said we did not want dessert, we were offered a complimentary Tiramisu, which was delicious. How could we refuse ???? I felt that the décor of the Colosseo was a little dated and the interior could be freshened up a bit, but overall a very pleasant way to spend an evening.

Very elaborate menu with strong flavours, none of the seven courses disappointed! The service was also excellent and the dining room felt very cosy.

The service was attentive and knowledgeable and the food delicious. We had tender Cantabrian anchovies, cucumber in ayo blanc, fettuccine with pork ragu and monkfish in a Provencal sauce washed down with a dry Piedmont muscat. We will return!

This is the second time I and a group of friends have had such at the Griffin and once again we were not disappointed. The landlord is extremely friendly and welcoming and keeps his real ale very well. The food was, once again, delicious.
