Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Bay Head

Wanted to take my wife out to a place we had never been before. Definitely happy with the decision to come here. Our server, Dawn, was extremely on point throughout our entire visit. Extremely personable, attentive, and enthusiastic. The food from the appetizer to the dessert was nothing short of amazing. Warm crab dip for an appetizer was tasty and creatively paired with toasted ciabatta slices. Stuffed salmon and seared scallops and shrimp with lobster risotto were nothing short of amazing. The dessert presentation with the little treasure chest of candy and dessert menu on a map inside was unique and fun. Chocolate cake definitely wants you to make sure you save room so you can enjoy. Will definitely be going back to try the other items on the menu that sounded great.

I’ve been to the Brooklyn location a few times and this place reflects it in terms of food. Very good. Our waitress did not seem to care much about us. I don’t know if it was that she was too busy in the other room but it seems like she didn’t want to be bothered by us which is hindering my review of this place. She never checked on our drinks or asked how our food was. Also for 2 people with apps, dinner and dessert we were there about 2.5 hours which in my opinion was very slow. As for the food. The calamari raccanati is delicious. The baked clams, some of the best I’ve ever had. The fried zucchini also very good. As for dinner we had chicken scarpariello which was on the bone and fantastic. Super juicy and has a good spice to it with the peppers. Very very good. And we also had chicken picatta which comes as 3 smaller chicken cutlets and a side. The lemon sauce had good flavor and the chicken was goood. The Brussel sprouts were delicious! Dressed we had affogato which was delicious and the tartufo was another favorite! Overall I do feel this place is a bit over priced for what it is. The service at least from our server was poor but management is very kind. The food is very good and I can see this being a place I frequent if the service was better

Absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was amazing. They had a special carmelized fig salad over arugula. It was served warm with goat cheese and pomegranates …best salad I’ve ever had. The entrees were delish and generous portions . I highly recommend the stuffed rigatoni with shrimp. For dessert we shared the pistachio tiramisu..so delicious. We will definitely be back. The chef came out a few times to check on everyone. Nice touch !!

There is nothing better than a menu with the right balance of options, consistently excellent food, top notch service, and an ambiance fit for all levels of revelry. Nicholas may not be in the kitchen as much as the old days, but he makes up for that as the consummate, colorfully shirted host. Plus where else can you still dine under holiday lights in January? And where else can you get the best ice cream in the world that is loved by all?

Lovely, small neighborhood place. Staff is so friendly and food is seafood-based and not all red sauce....(though their marinara is excellent!). Great and different for a NJ Italian restaurant. Due to it's small size, it is a bit loud.
