Since 2012, Fonda La Catrina has been serving up Mexican comfort food and drink with quality ingredients and lots of love. We are a Mexico City style restaurant and bar located in the heart of the lively and loud Georgetown neighborhood in Seattle. Handmade tortillas, chips, salsas, tacos, braised puerco in salsa verde, tamales, mole de Poblano; all made in house by our talented team in the kitchen. The house made ethos extends to our bar as well. Agave spirits rule with fresh juices, infusions and seasonal fruits that inspire our bar team weekly. An understated storefront hides a coveted skyline view—just one of the many ways you could underestimate this longtime cafe on Mount Baker’s main drag. The menu, the sign—even the name—are a bit of a throwback, but current owners Guy Devillier and David Hoefer took over in 2018 and keep things attuned to today. Carbonara packs more nuance than you might expect, the slightly crackly pizza’s better than it has to be, and the bar pours lambrusco and negroni. No wonder tables are loaded with a diversity of diners.

Tex-Mex cuisine began in the Rio Grande Valley before migrating up to San Antonio during the l860's where a group of women known as The Chili Queens' began to pop up in the city's plazas selling chili con carne with tamales, enchiladas, and chili verde. They incorporated cumin into their dishes favored by settlers from theCanary lslands, which still has a strong influence on Mexican food in Texas. Tex-Mex also loves beef, flour tortillas, yellow cheese, fajitas and more. Our inspiration comes from the many classic Tex-Mex restaurants including Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen, Papasito's, Ninfa's, Blue Goose, Hugo's, Herrerra's Cafe, Chuy's, Valentina's Tex-Mex and many more. Jackalope combines excellent Central Texas-style smoked meats from Jack's BBQ with delicious Tex-Mex dishes. lt's truly the best of both worlds!

We had a great dining experience at G.H. Pasta. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The portion sizes are generous—perfect for sharing if you want to try a few different dishes. The service was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. Just a heads-up: a set gratuity is automatically included in the bill, but in our case, the service definitely justified it. Overall, a lovely spot for a cozy and satisfying pasta night.

The food arrived quick, and the window seats had good views of the city. The food was pretty good and the noise levels were low. Would recommend for a cute Italian place in Seattle.

One of the most interesting restaurants in Seattle. Japanese-inflected food done with classic techniques. Beautiful room with warm, welcoming service. Extensive wine list ranging from uber natty to classic, all fairly priced. The clientele tends to hip but of all ages. JUST GO, the bonus is a visit to the energetic White Center.
