Your group will use these “Superpowers” to figure out each of the 7 courses, as the menu is a mystery. Thrill comes through debating each course among your party. Once the experience is complete, you are guided out of the Black Forest so you can meet the Chef, where he presents you with the menu and is there to answer questions. Chef tastefully creates the menu that will excite your taste buds with items you most likely have enjoyed in your life. The menu is designed for the masses. No exotic or niche items. Oma's Hideaway is a vibrant, maximalist restaurant inspired by the life and spirit of Chef Thomas Pisha Duffly's grandmother, Kiong Tien “Tina” Vandenberg. Her ability to adapt, to make the most out of limited resources, and to stay creative while projecting warmth and brightness is the guiding force behind Oma’s Hideaway.Born during the pandemic as a pop-up in the Gado Gado parking lot, Oma’s became a permanent beacon of iridescent light in Portland’s Richmond neighborhood in 2021. The menu draws from Tina’s life story, taking influence from the craveable, soul-satisfying hawker food of Singapore and Malaysia and “turning up the volume” with exaggerated yet balanced flavors in Chef Tom’s signature style. Oma’s serves dinner accompanied by a seasonal list of hand-crafted cocktails and zero-proof drinks.
