Best Casual Restaurants in Essendon

The Mona’s rebirth is a welcome change to pub grub in the area. It’s not Gastro Pub in style but it’s better than your staple As everything is made with what appears to be quality produce cooked just right and the service is very warm, helpful and prompt no fuss and there’s a nice tone to the way staff work as a team for us the patrons.

Staff are super helpful and accommodating. They were able to relocate us to a more suitable table to accommodate a high chair. The food and coffee were delicious. Quite a bustling vibe, can be difficult to concentrate when super busy but to be expected from a warehouse environment. Would recommend to others for good food, coffee and helpful staff.

Our waitress was outstanding with the way she showed and explained everything to us from the menu to the drinks to the specials and communication during our experience. Will definitely be coming back with others in to experience it for themselves also

Enjoyed the visit overall - staff were lovely and attentive, the food was delicious but a little bit slow between starters and the bigger dishes. Ambiance was great. Only note is that the wines were quite expensive - the cheapest glass was $20 and would have appreciated more of a range in terms of cost. I find that most places will offer glasses at varying cost between $16-$24

Was there on a Sunday night. We ordered eggplant parmigiana and Americana pizza. There was a funny odour coming from the sauce used & the meals were not finished. We also had the chicken stir fry which appeared to be missing something and was bland. Hit and miss as we’ve had better food in other nights we’ve been there.
