Inspired by Italy’s aperitivo hour, when public squares and streets are filled with lively conversation, Portico serves handmade and authentic Italian fare in Sebastopol in western Sonoma County.A portico is a colonnade or covered walkway in classical architecture. Since the middle ages the elegant porticos of Bologna, Italy have a meeting place for the public as well as a place for business. Paolo Pedrinazzi (who is from Bologna) and Kat Escamilla, owners of the new Portico trattoria , bring this experience to Sebastopol. They even have monthly Regional dinner parties with live jazz.The setting includes an Italian fountain on their cozy patio. Portico offers light table service and counter ordering. Excellent Italian wines are sold in the restaurant at retail pricing; refreshingly unpretentious. The menu features an array of antipasti, handmade egg pasta, gluten free risottos, Bolognese lasagna, tiramisu, and baked goods . A market in the front is stocked with take-n-bake entrees

Koshō Restaurant at The Barlow is a modern Japanese and sushi restaurant in Sebastopol with a progressive focus on food, local ingredients, and sustainability. Koshō derives its moniker from the condiment of the same name, Yuzu Koshō.     We went for our wedding anniversary and made reservations for 5:30pm on Friday 6/13. We scored a perfect parking spot on the street. We decided to eat on the patio and it was a perfect evening. Server was very attentive, took our drink order & food order. Drinks came first and then dinner arrived quickly as well! I ordered the refreshing lemon spritz and it was so good. For dinner, I ordered the salad with homemade chicken tenders and my husband ordered the spaghetti & meatballs. It was the perfect amount of food- we both finished our meals and saved room for dessert. Do not miss the chocolate bundido- again it was the perfect portion and it was wonderful! We also got the vanilla gelato, also good!

    We had an incredible time at Goldfinch. It was our first time in this area our first time in Sebastopol and at this restaurant. Our hostess, who was also our server was wonderful . Wonderful food Excellent oysters Great wine and cocktails Our bartender made the drinks perfectly for us The interior design was spot on and comfortable We will be back!

    Meekk, Francesca and Elise were all great. Excellent vegetarian food, wonderful wine pairings adjust as we ate. Our favorite meal experience during our wine country visit. I highly recommend.
