- SSophieVIPDublin •25 reviews4.0Dined on Jun 13, 2025My partner and I took my mum to Jamie's Italian in Dundrum last night and had a decent time. The quality has much improved since my last visit many years ago, though a few more tweaks couldn't hurt. Tip: Oliver takes his crustaceans very seriously. I had the prawn skewer to start, and they were fat and succulent with a slice of sourdough to catch the juices. My lemon slice comically flew out of my hand, and our lovely waiter spotted it right away and brought me three new ones! Himself enjoyed the cheesy ravioli starter, followed by seafood pasta with a tomato sauce. My mum had the classic fish and chips, the temperature of which was far too hot - it was still steaming many minutes later - and the noise levels of the restaurant were a bit high for her liking. Her voice is weak at the moment, and she struggled to project above the thrum. She was satisfied with her meal overall, particularly the chips. For my main, I had the carbonara - one of my favourite dishes - and while the creamy sauce was on the heavy side, the pancetta was impressively crisp and brought a rich flavour to the dish. I like that you can have a carafe of wine as opposed to a single glass or a full bottle, so Mum and I shared one. Coffees were ordered to finish, and herself made quick work of her Americano. Another tip: this is very much a family place as I noticed every other table was full of rambunctious children. Definitely don't bring a date! There is a semi-open kitchen, so do have a peek if you can. It's fun watching the flurry of service behind the scenes. The whole meal was around €140 for two starters, three main courses, a carafe, and two coffees.More infoJamie Oliver's Italian DundrumPrice: Moderate• Italian• Dundrum (D16)•4.1
