   Everything was really good. We did the 4 course meal with wine pairings. All of food was cooked perfectly and the wines were perfectly paired with each dish. Price wise it was incredibly expensive, but it was a special occasion and we truly enjoyed the experience.

   Amazing experience, incredible vegetarian food. I don't usually go fine-dining, my tongue would love that but my bank account wouldn't, but it was surreal how much of food I've been missing out on. Best food / wine I've ever had. This is truly an experience like going to a theme park or staying in an amazing hotel. Definitely something to put on your bucket list.

   The food was wonderful, the service was exceptional. An incredible dining experience. We ordered the four course meal and each course was remarkable. Todd was our waiter and he seemed to be always available yet never overbearing. The courses were spaced very comfortably leaving time for intimate dinner conversation. We also had the wine pairings which were a real treat - sometimes familiar, but more often new, sometimes surprising but always a delicious complement to the food. The entire experience was relaxed and comfortable and luxurious. We were seated in a small room with only a couple other parties. The building is an old farmhouse and has a number of small dining rooms, which contributes to this feeling of intimacy - as if we were the only parties in the place. An almost magical combination of excellent food, service and space.

   Great food and great service. It is not a cheap meal but you can find that information before arriving or making the reservation. If you're looking for a memorable spot for a special occasion, this is a great spot to do it.

   The food was fantastic, diverse and exquisitely presented. Everything was done perfectly. The staff was attentive and highly competent. The atmosphere was quiet and tables well separated, both outside and inside.

    We have dined here a few times, and I am always so pleased with the excellent food that they serve. I have many food allergies and intolerances, and they are always happy (I think) to accommodate me. :) Elegant, upscale restaurant (make sure to dress appropriately) and a quiet atmosphere. Beautiful grounds and Inn, professional and friendly staff.

    Had the chef’s tasting menu with pairings - for the price, I left feeling underwhelmed. The food was good, but not great. Plus, there were far too many dessert courses/sweet wines.

    It would have been great had the hostess not only left us waiting for our table (and promised drinks) for over 20 minutes and then almost ruining a surprised engagement by taking my then boyfriend outside to discuss the plan with him in front of me. I knew something was up as soon as she took him outside to "talk" and he had to come up with a story when he came back in so that I wouldn't know. I immediately did and unfortunately that took away from some of the surprise. It is still a beautiful venue for photographs but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. The food is mildly weird/stuffy for a restaurant. I "get it" but our $250 meal would have been better spent on food we enjoyed. No knock to the chef, they did a great job, don't get me wrong, but it just wasn't our taste. If you want fancy French, by all means, but this isn't Vin Rouge and not what was expected. Still salty over the engagement surprise ruin, i guess.

    Very expensive for what you get. My husband waited and waited for his beer and sparkling water. first course was frozen salmon and 2 of us sent it back. No one came to table to apologize or anything. Other 2 courses were good. They didn’t take the salmon off the bill and it was Waaaayyyy too expensive for the food we got. Pretty place but Not worth the money at all!

    Dinner was an incredible experience, the service was impeccable and the food was a delight for the senses. We ordered the four course menu with wine pairings. Loved the charming farmhouse setting. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions.

    Disappointing evening at this Relais restaurant because of the main course. Everything else was great- service, especially but all the little extras from amuse-bouche to pre-dessert to the petiifore gift box we left left were very nice. I’m like venison and didn’t appreciate its late removal from the menu replaced by duck. I had the duck but found it too rare and fatty for my taste. Also disappointed there was no fish entree to select which is something not encountered at other restaurants of this quality. I’d only recommend with some reservations about menu.

    of course FHR is one of the most consistent dining experiences with well made and creative food. we have been there many times but this time we had the best wait staff person ever. while we have been fortunate to dine at many places in the area and around the world, Todd Herrell is by far the best of anyone we have come across. it is a given to say Todd knows his stuff, but his interaction with you as a guest makes your dinner a wonderful dining experience. Todd balances everything perfectly, his timing is impeccable, his knowledge unsurpassed, and such a lovely balance of friendly and professional. FHR is fortunate to have Todd on their team. I can assure you our next time back we will ask ahead if will be there!

    We splurged for a special evening to celebrate my husband‘s retirement. The food was decadent, rich, perfectly prepared, beautiful, exotic, and plentiful. We ordered the three course meal and were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes as well as the unexpected appetizer bites presented. There was a spectacular wedding going on in the barn with outdoor cocktail hour that provided plenty of visual entertainment from our window table. The ambience is quiet and cozy inside. We were glad for the wedding entertainment as it provided some levity because the environment otherwise felt a bit like eating in a very fancy library.

    First of all the grounds and layout of the restaurant and area are exquisite. We were promptly greeted and seated at a lovely table by the window. We reviewed the menus and considered ordering a cocktail but choose to do the wine pairing menu. The wine pairing seemed extremely expensive basically $45 a glass since half pours for a four course, so we spoke to the sommelier about our preferences and assumed we would be getting a reserved highly curated collection. The first course was served of smoked salmon and crab salad which were both exquisite but then our first wines were poured and I knew we had a problem. My white wine varietal was an obscure appellation and was literally cloudy which made me wonder if it had a bacterial infection and was served at about 70 degrees. My mother was poured a Sauvignon blanc from Tazmia that was acidic and frankly disappointing and clearly not a reserve offering. We promptly called back the Sommelier who got defensive and just demanded I tell him what I wanted. I was so shocked I just asked for a menu but frankly that was the time to call for the manager. Mistakes occur and preferences vary but the response was the problem. Thankfully after this annoyance our regular waiter poured a healthy glass of a perfectly acceptable Pinot and we moved on with our delicious meal. The venison and chocolate soufflé are MUST haves for your visit. I’d recommend bringing a bottle from home next time or ordering a cocktail. Also the bathroom was about 12 degrees so not sure what happened with that side of the restaurant but we made a fast exit.

    Disappointed. Do not get a warm feeling. Serving staff seems to be running around a bit although our server was pleasant and competent. Crab salad was dense and disappointing. Venison was good but should have been explained that aside from seared edges it was dark red and much too raw for my taste. My lemon dessert was excellent but my wife said her mouse was too rich to eat. Cannot give it more than good and for the prices should be excellent.

    The food at Fearrington House is absolutely amazing. We've been here twice and have been incredibly impressed with the attention to detail on the plating as well as the outstanding flavor and texture combinations of the dishes. This is an absolutely "must" on your special occasion/celebration fine dining list.

    First time eating dinner here and had the 7 course tasting meal (one omnivore and one vegetarian). All of the food was amazing, but 7 courses is too much for me, but hey, yolo! Highly recommend. Jason was excellent with service. We will go back, but maybe just 3 course next time!! :-)

    Wonderful atmosphere and staff made this place worth every penny. Fantastic get away from the city for a date night with amazing service. Take time to go early and explore the grounds with a drink while you wait on your reservation.

    This is easily in my top three restaurants that I've ever been to. My wife has a slew of dietary restrictions, and to say that the staff was understanding is an understatement. We had a four course meal, and they hand crafted every course to work within her allergies and sensitivities like no one ever has. The chef didn't just substitute components, he made delicious little culinary works of art. The Maître d' Todd went above and beyond as well. We can't wait to come back.

    A lovely birthday dinner. A friend and I celebrated her birthday with a delicious dinner at The Fearrington House restaurant and sat in the bar area. The menu was small but included something for everyone. We began with the Fearrington nibbles (truffle popcorn, a smokey snack mix and olives. Perfect. For supper I enjoyed the buttermilk fried chicken and my guest enjoyed the crispy cod. The meal was delicious and we topped it off with a chocolate souffle accompanied with decaf coffee.
