Fearing's Ratings and Reviews
While celebrating my husband and I's 8th anniversary, we were seated right next to a large business lunch table. We had an 11:30 a..m. lunch and even though the entire restaurant was virtually empty, we were seating right next to a loud business lunch.
The meal was incredible, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by the terrible seating placement, even tough we specially asked for a "quiet booth" in the reservation request.
My husband and I enjoy a special dining experience in the few weeks before Christmas every year....and that includes the last 20 years in Dallas area. We have thoroughly enjoyed most of those times at Fearing's!!!
Again, we each had an outstanding meal, along with delicious champagne and scrumptious breads! It was a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10!!!!
The service was very attentive and helpful, never intrusive.
The atmosphere charming and peaceful, yet festive with beautiful flowers and table settings.
Thank you, Fearing's!!!!
It's always a special occasion to dine at Fearing's; it is never a disappointment. We ate in the Gallery this time, which is a different experience than eating in the room that opens into the kitchen. It's beautiful and more intimate, good for conversation. The food was really good and the service was just attentive enough. There was a lively scene in the Rattlesnake bar for drinks as well.
Fearing's continues to be a shining star on the Dallas restaurant scene. Just superb creative cuisine from Dean Fearing. Service is impeccable. Wine service by Paul Botamer is the best in the city. He will find a wine to pair with your meal and it will generally be delicious and yet may be obscure. Wonderful menu; nightly specials. Among the best restaurants in Dallas. Go and enjoy!
We had the best experience at the Sunday Brunch with friends. We got the sampler bread basket...Delicious! Red pear salad had the best flavors! The Texas Feta is to die for!!! Salmon was the best and the paper sack chicken was so tasty! Had banana pudding for dessert that topped off a wonderful dining experience! Service was great! Would recommend!
My fiancé and I went to Fearing’s this past Saturday for date night. Normally, we make the pilgrimage to Arthur’s but were looking for a more vibrant atmosphere for our fine dining experience this time around. Fearing’s delivered on that expectation and more.
My favorite items from the evening included the carpaccio (the toasted hazelnuts elevated the flavor of the bison in a way I could have never imagined) and the cheese dish. I had the latter with Graham’s 40-year port which was nothing short of Elysium. Though those were my favorite dishes, every offering was carefully designed to inspire and delight all senses.
I had one small issue with the main course which I won’t detail because I believe it to be the exception and not the standard of how Fearing’s operates. As small as the issue was, when my server learned of the problem he was insistent upon fixing it even when I maintained that it wasn’t worth the trouble. It was clear that the staff took pride in only delivering the best to their guests. For that reason, I can't even call the event an issue. Instead, I'll consider it a testament to how much this restaurant cares.
In a nutshell, I’ll be going back to Fearing’s and I’d recommend anybody looking for an upscale casual vibe with top notch culinary offerings to do so as well. Thanks for a date night success!
Fearings is always a special treat, but Thanksgiving was the best!! The overall atmosphere and the food combined with the service and even seeing Dean all added up to a special day.
My only thought would be that the restaurant request that people not wear jeans and t shirts to a special holiday meal. Most everyone was dressed nicely, except three young men who sat near us and all had on jeans and t-shirts. Just took something away from an other wise special day.
I enjoyed the food and appreciated that the Chef and Sous Chef came to greet us at our table. The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. My only problem was that we had reservations at 2:30 and weren’t seated until 3:15-3:20. Upon arrival we were told the restaurant hadn’t opened yet. Many parties were waiting to be seated. We also realized, too late, that we were over charged for our meal. Again thoroughly enjoyed the Thanksgiving meal, however having to wait 45+ minutes wasn’t pleasant, having had made reservations.
We went here for a late Thanksgiving lunch and the meal was incredible. Everyone enjoyed the options on the tasting menu. The only downside was even though we had a reservation we had a long wait for a table. Fearings came through and handed out hors d’oeurves and champagne to make the wait more bearable. A truly memorable meal.
My husband and I dined here while in town visiting family and had a wonderful meal. The wine our server recommended was fantastic and only carried in the area at this restaurant. I had the chicken tortilla soup to start which was delicious. Our meals were tasty and satisfying. The floral displays in the lobby were also beautiful to admire.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner with our adult sons. Martin and Luis were our servers and they were excellent- so personable and knowledgeable. My younger son and I ordered from the new vegetarian menu- gnocchi and Mexican sampler, while my husband and older son had the salmon and filet. All were excellent. Our salads were also great. And it was a treat for Dean and Eric to stop by our table. It was another wonderful evening at Fearings .
Our dining experience at Fearing's was exceptional in every way! From Chef Fearing's appearance at our table to the exquisite flavors of everything we ate, this restaurant is stellar!
Service was lovely: warm, punctual, intent on pleasing. We loved that the ambiance was unpretentious, as was the food. I can't remember when I've been more pleased with a meal!
Dean Fearing greeted us personally not long after we were seated. He was very gracious and visible in the dining area most of the evening. Menu was incredible and eclectic as always. We had the quail and pork belly and bison carpaccio to start. My bride had the roast pheasant with a home made pot pie. I had the wagyu beef tenderloin and 2 chicken fried Maine lobster tails on top of a spinach taco. To finish we shared the banana pudding with crispy beignets. A tour de force.
