Thanksgiving. For the first time just my wife and I. My children live far away. It was also our 40th anniversary. Outstanding. Next time. I just want a huge serving of the scallops- best anywhere.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner with our adult sons. Martin and Luis were our servers and they were excellent- so personable and knowledgeable. My younger son and I ordered from the new vegetarian menu- gnocchi and Mexican sampler, while my husband and older son had the salmon and filet. All were excellent. Our salads were also great. And it was a treat for Dean and Eric to stop by our table. It was another wonderful evening at Fearings .

Our dining experience at Fearing's was exceptional in every way! From Chef Fearing's appearance at our table to the exquisite flavors of everything we ate, this restaurant is stellar!
Service was lovely: warm, punctual, intent on pleasing. We loved that the ambiance was unpretentious, as was the food. I can't remember when I've been more pleased with a meal!

Dean Fearing greeted us personally not long after we were seated. He was very gracious and visible in the dining area most of the evening. Menu was incredible and eclectic as always. We had the quail and pork belly and bison carpaccio to start. My bride had the roast pheasant with a home made pot pie. I had the wagyu beef tenderloin and 2 chicken fried Maine lobster tails on top of a spinach taco. To finish we shared the banana pudding with crispy beignets. A tour de force.

Absolutely fabulous. Chef Fearing greeted us our table and walked us through the menu. This was positively the beat menu top to bottom I’ve ever seen. Everything on it was something unusual. I had then foie grau with Apple cinnamon donut and pumpkin jam appetizer, yes appetizer, followed by antelope with rabbit enchiladas. Great desserts too. Go early and have a cocktail in the Rattlesnake bar and ask for Jaime one of the beat bartenders around then have dinner. Service was impeccable. Food was worth every nickel as it was sensational.

Our family had a fantastic dinner at Fearing's to celebrate my husband's birthday. This was our first visit to this outstanding restaurant. We were treated so wonderfully from beginning to end. It was truly a memorable experience and we can't wait to return. The owner/chef Dean Fearing even came by twice to our table to check if we had any questions about the menu and to see how we enjoyed our meals. This is truly a special place!

Great food with an uncommon flexibility - don’t care for the spinach taco as a side? Substitute any of the others, no problem. Which gives you freedom to pick from any of the diverse main courses, and they are all worth trying (as far as we could tell, so we’ll have to come back).

Great restaurant, I had the wagyu beef with chicken tender lobster - the steak was melt in your mouth but dry and bland. The lobster tho was fantastic. The tortilla soup was average and BBQ shrimp taco was good.

We had a great experience!
Chef came around to table several times, very friendly and helpful.
Sommelier was unbelievable, knew his wine, several extra tastes and a tour of the kitchen were special.
Food was outstanding, antelope was like nothing I have had before, Oslo bucolic special also very good.
We will go back, thanks for a great evening!

So disappointing. The $26 appetizer with crab cakes and short ribs was served inexplicably room temp. Bleck. Worse, the $50+ pork entree I requested medium to medium well was practically raw even to the waiters horror. And the t-bone cut of the pork yielded about four bites of edible non fatty meat. Would never return.

Disappointing. Having just visited another famous Dallas chef's restaurant the evening before (Flora-Stephen Pyles), we were excited to visit Fearing's at the Ritz-Carlton. First, the decor reminds me of any other generic hotel - nothing at all noteworthy. Next, the service was somewhat perfunctory - nothing special. We ordered the brunch (it was Sunday at 12:45 p.m.). My husband's halibut was quite good and well-prepared. We had the bread basket starter, and it was...meh. Peach sangria was very good, especially after they finally remembered to bring my second one. I ordered the Red Pear Salad (boring) and Pulled Pork Madame sandwich, which arrived with very soggy bread, and hard-cooked egg on top of a (a tasteless Mornay??) sauce that had appeared to have sat under the heatlamp for too long. At least, that's what it looked like. The pulled pork was quite dry. I ate maybe half the sandwich. The side raw veggies were in a sad, unappetizing clump next to the sandwich. Desserts were just okay. Won't return.

Well, this was another great experience it Fearings! Dean Fearing certainly continues to prove himself as one of the very best chefs in Texas (and this is certainly among my favorite top 3 restaurants in Dallas ).

This certainly is the definition of gourmet (including the quite small portions and higher and pricing – make no mistake about that).

I would say for a FULL meal, one would probably want to (at least) get an appetizer along with an entrée, as the portions are quite small – yet delectable (the old adage, quality over quantity certainly applies here).

I personally am glad I got just the entrée – it left me satisfied but not "full," and therefore allows me to control my fitness level.

I had the scallop dish and a friend of mine had the pheasant – we shared and we both agreed that both entrées were outstanding!

BTW, as far as the small portions, I'm not complaining – I always know that pretty much almost anything I order off the menu Is going to be memorable.

Great food and excellent service! The dining room with the open kitchen was very loud. We had a family celebration with 7 of us crowded around a rather small round table. Not an ideal seating situation but the food and excellent service made for a wonderful overall experience. It would have been a bit awkward for a business dinner.
