Fazzini's Taverna Ratings and Reviews
This was our first visit to Fazzini's. The service was exceptional, easily the best I've experienced in the Baltimore area. The bean soup was hearty and the cream of crab soup was creamy. Sausage ravioli and chicken francaise were savory and filling. Servings were very ample, although we somehow found room for chocolate lava cake. Highly recommended. Make a reservation since they're popular and busy!
I was served the wrong dish. I ordered lasagna, but got eggplant parm. I didn't say anything as I didn't want to raise a fuss while dining with another couple. I didn't want to hold up everyone's meal but,
I don't like eggplant!
Suffered through half of the dish.
Enjoyed all of the items ordered. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared.
2 person table was slightly crowded when food and drinks arrived, but wait staff did a good job of clearing as the meal progressed. Wait staff was clearly educated on the menu. Will definitely return.
Service was satisfactory to good, but the food didn't quite measure up. I had the specialty lasagna, and it seemed that the chef forgot some steps in the layering. The ground beef was dry, and it fell out from between the pasta layers. Next time I'll get the bronzini.
The food and the service work great. Unfortunately, it took forever to get our food. They told us they were out of meatballs which is strange at an Italian restaurant and they needed to make more and then they told us that our kids pizza had burned which is also strange for an Italian restaurant. Something was not clicking for them that night in the kitchen. When the food did arrive though it was very good and they were certainly apologetic about how long it took and gave us a free dessert.
Veal Parmesan was good. a lot of veal, but also a lot of breading. The scallops in the scallop risotto dish was excellent. Very nice a sweet. Our server, Joey, was excellent. Basically this is a "middle of the road" Italian restaurant. Can not compare with Cafe Troia, Carlo's Bistro or Liberatore's.
Food was good as usual and the server was very attentive. The night we were there a group had booked the whole restaurant so regular diners were relegated to the overflow room. This room had bright lights and beige walls. It felt like an overflow room and had zero ambiance. The restaurant really needs to step up the decor in this room. I have had group meetings in this room too. Always the same feeling.
Sunday evening dinner at Fazzini's. We usually have great experiences at Fazzini's. Unfortunately, while the food lived up to the usual standards, the service was less than stellar. Our server filled our water glasses (the water was warm) and took our drink order. My husband always orders the $4 lemonade (no refills) which is usually served in a 16oz glass. The lemonade he was served this night was in a water glass (not sure of the size but really? for $4 with no refills?) We placed our food orders and then our server never returned to our table until mid-way through our entrees. My salad was brought by another person, at which time we requested bread, which had never been brought by our server. When our entrees were brought, we again requested bread (which had never been brought after the first request) At the same time, I had to request a refill on water which had been empty since my salad. Finally, our server returned and despite the fact that there were 2 obviously empty glasses on the table, she asked if there was anything we needed, and we had to ask for water refills. The food was great - service not so much.
Not sure if you can find out our servers name but she was by far the best we've had in a very, very long time. I think for the most part she was born that way, so kudos to her parents. For the server training part, excellent job. She exceeded our expectations. Hopefully my mother in law gave her the tip she deserved. You should hang onto her, she's one in a million
