Fazzini's Taverna Ratings and Reviews
We were a party of six, service was great! We weren't rushed, food was great. Some had fish and vegetables, Chicken Marsala (delicious), Lasagna which you are known for (loved it) I had Chicken Picatta (a little too salty). Good choice of wines and the portions are so big that we took home leftovers. All in all, great dinners!
This is really a neighborhood gem. The food is authentically Italian. All of the pasta is homemade. The baked pasta dishes are so filling that we needed to take half of them home. They were delicious. The Pasta Carbonara was excellent, although not as creamy/eggy as we like it. I would have left the cinnamon and powdered cocoa off of the cannoli, but that didn't stop any of us from eating them! Our waiter, Jason, could not have been more helpful and attentive. The place was really busy the night we were there with a college lacrosse team in the private room, but that just added to the fun atmosphere and did not interfere with the enjoyment of our meal. We will return again.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure we'll be back, which is why I am not certain I would recommend it.
Perhaps we've had bad luck. But we've now tried it twice, and were disappointed, so... :/
The first time was on a hot day in the summer, and we asked to be seated outside. They put us at a table in the sun right up against the building. It quickly became unbearable, and we asked to be moved inside. It felt to us that they felt that accommodating that was a hardship, but they did it. The food was great, but that overall experience made it a hard-sell for us to go back.
But we did go back. And we were seated in a lovely booth, but no server came to take care of us. We watched every server in the dining room walk past us, and no one even asked if we'd been helped. It was literally like we were invisible.
Finally, my husband went to the hostess and let her know our predicament. Even so, it took about five minutes for someone to come over to our table. Everyone was helpful after that, and the food was delish (I didn't love the caesar, but the french onion soup and the rigatoni bake were terrific!).
To apologize, we were offered two discount coupons, only one of which can be used in a visit, and for us, would save us $5, based on what we would usually spend. I find that kind, but not helpful. Helpful would have been to have done something for us on *that* visit.
Or even maybe to make a bigger offer to entice us back. Still, not sure I want to try a third time.
Always have a great meal at Fazzini's. They seemed to be a bit disorganized upon our arrival at our scheduled time..It took them about 15 minutes to get us seated. Our server Jason was excellent - very personable and on top of things. Or meals were wonderfully prepared and delicious!
We visit Fazinnis on a regular basis. The food and service are always up to par! The owner is always on premises and wach time has come to our table personally to make sure things were what we were expecting.
Each time we try different things, and our party of 7 loved every dish that was ordered. The foccacia bread is the best anywhere. The Caseys Rigatoni (we ordered with shrimp) was insane!!! Salads, salmon, chicken and veal parm, pasta, meatballs...all so amazing! There was nothing left!! Whether we go for a date night or a family night with friends, its a great choice!! Never dissapointed here!!
We have been going to Fazzinis regularly and this is the first time we were disappointed. We wanted to share this experience with some friends since they have been to this restaurant. We always get the same entrees because they are a favorite- shrimp fra diablo and chicken franchise. The fra diablo was not edible, it tasted like someone dumped the hot pepper shaker over the entree, and the chicken francaise was overlooked. We wanted to have a conversation and could because we were right next to the bar and it was noisy. I am sure I won't be back for awhile.
Went for dinner with out of town family. Good selection available for kids and picky eaters. Really good home made pasta. All of our meals were delicious. Ordered a large salad to share but didn't get any extra plates or bowls so we ended up using our tiny bread plates. Overall, a good value. Would definitely go back.
The food was great! My husband really enjoyed the linguine primavera. I had grilled salmon with veghetti noodle instead of pasta and it was excellent! Our server Patrick, was very pleasant and very accommodating even though he was very busy. We will definitely return.
We had been here for a murder mystery dinner awile ago and the food and show were good. Decided to go back for Valentines day. Server was very personable and seemed to know the menu well. Food was very good and enough to allow leftovers. Dessert was different than other restaurants but seemed pricy.
We were seated in the back room so the ambiance was somewhat lacking compared to the front room.
Love the lasagne, gnocchi and eggplant parmigiano. They now offer veggie noodles for those avoiding gluten. Wood fired oven makes for great pizza. Our waiter was very attentive which was expected on a not so crowded Sunday night go soon to take advantage of restaurant week special
