Love the place. Great food. I come here when I come to Pacific Grove!
Great as always
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner. The food was delicious. We cleaned our plates with no leftover.
This was an exceptional dining experience at a neighborhood restaurant in Pacific Grove. My wife and I do not drink but their wine category seemed top notch.
Had a wonderful evening the wait staff were outstanding and the food excellent; it is so sad that the Favaloros are retiring but it comes to us all. we wish them the best in retirement.
Authentic Italian food made mixed with a beautiful atmosphere.
We’ve been here a few times and the poor customer service is consistent (too bad because we were hoping that would improve) - there are one or two older servers who lack professionalism and can barely tolerate questions from the customer. Too bad because the food is quite good but not worth it to us to return!
Soup and salad arrived 75 minutes after reservations. Entrees arrived an hour and a half after being seated. Food was good, but good grief. Server was good natured but never offered an excuses. We were all disappointed.
We were here on Valentine’s Day, so perhaps it wasn’t the best night to try a new place. The service was great. They limited the menu that night, understandable in a night when they need to serve quickly and turn the tables. The food was good, not great. Maybe because they were preparing for high volume they weren’t at their usual level that I anticipated based on reviews. We may try it again some time and a regular day when they can bring their A game.
The food here is wonderful! There were six of us and everyone raved about their meal.
Food was outstanding. We had a late reservation and felt a bit rushed, but it was great and would definitely go again. Had their special short rib ravioli and it did not disappoint. Others in our party had Nino's Special and Flat Iron Steak, both were delicious. A Must-Try!
Had a great experience!! Best calamari I’ve ever had!!
Birthday for 4. Saltimboca excellent. Arugula salad with pear 👍 all very satisfied
Excellent food and great selection. Service was exceptional also.
This restaurant has a wonderful, warm ambiance and we had excellent service on New Year's eve. The meals were wonderful, interpretive italian dishes. The service was wonderful and our waiter made an extra effort to meet a special request.
New Favorite restaurant when we visit Monterey! That authentic Italian food and the great service made this a special evening to celebrate my husbands retirement!
best fried calamari i have had and we order it everywhere
and chicken sltimbaca quite good
Our favorite restaurant when visiting Pacific Grove. Quality, freshness, taste
of dishes; excellent service; overall comfortable ambience--all make for a
superb dining experience.
We love dining at Favaloro's! The dinner was more than what words can express. We had linguine with clams and mussels & petrale sole--Mmm~. We ordered one more to take home! It was also so nice to see the Favaloros. It was surely Favaloro's Big Night for us! So memorable. 'Wish we could go there everyday!
Favolaro's is a really great find if you like authentic Italian food. The pasta is wonderful! The night we were there they were very busy and had only 2 waiters! But they took care of business and the service was very good and the food delicious!
We were appreciative of the ambiance and that they could accomodate a oarty of 8 on Christmas Eve. However we had to flag down a few different waiters and re-request waters 3 different times. Their vegetarian, non animal product items are non existent. Overall, there are better places for both food and service with more options in the area. Time to update!
Grabbed an 8:00 reservation at the last minute. Place was empty except for a party of 6-8. No sand dabs, so replaced with sole. Halibut that was clearly not halibut, and cognac cheesecake that was actually pumpkin spice. Two things became clear, we interrupted the staff having their dinner, but boy can they cook! Both main dishes melted in your mouth, the sole was nicely seasoned, the loin of halibut was quite large(reminded me of half of a ling cod). The cheesecake was light, tasty, yet overwhelmingly pumpkin. It was a pleasurable meal. Next time I'd go back not at staff's meal time!
Nice neighborhood restaurant
good food, pleasant atmosphere
creative dishes for specials
Halibut special in pineapple reduction sauce was incredible,
Pretty sub par experience all around. I ordered the chicken parm, it came out raw (not undercooked, it was raw-pink-inedible). My sisters scallops were also raw/bitter to the taste she also sent the dish back. They wouldn’t omit the charge for the scallops but did omit for the chicken. We had a pretty large party so I get it if mistakes happen, but two dishes undercooked and one charge was kept, it’s a pretty basic move. Anyway, all around apps and other dishes weren’t anything special, would never go back.
Service was great!..Food was decent but maybe got a little carried with the fish preparation. Fish was good, but coated in bread crumbs, too much sweet sauce that masked fish flavor and made it soggy. Ravioli was good and had great flavor. Dessert..apple strudel with vanilla gelato...let’s just say that it looked nothing like the picture unfortunately. Overall, we would go back for some basic “safe” dishes like pasta, share a bottle of wine and enjoy the coziness of the restaurant.
Amazing food, excellent service, and a romantic quiet atmosphere. Great for special occasions or just a nice date night. This is my all time favorite spot to dine on the Monterey Peninsula.
Favaloro's has been a favorite dining spot for many years and it never disappoints. The food is excellent and the servers and owners are so attentive and helpful.
Good food and good atmosphere. Service was a little lacking this visit. They were a little busier this trip.
Reservations are a must because of limited seating that is guaranteed to fill up. This restaurant is for dinner only but well worth it. My friend and I enjoyed our visit and plan on returning soon.
Just a wonderful local restaurant! I ordered the porcini mushroom ravioli and it was, hands down, the best Italian meal I've ever eaten! I could have it every night!! The ambiance is appealing too. It wasn't extremely busy on a Thursday evening, so it was quiet, but its a lovely family-owned restaurant with exceptional food. Our service was great also! Can't wait to visit again!
Our reservation at 7pm on a Wed. night seemed unnecessary, as when we first arrived there was only two other tables taken. However, as the evening wore on it became very busy. The avocado/ crab appetizer was interesting, but not great...it needed something. The sand dabs and short rib ravioli entrees were great though, as was the Mascarpone Custard with Fruit dessert!
Our server was very busy handling a lot of customer's that evening. We had to wait a bit for our drinks to be refilled, but he was very friendly. I would recommend installing something on the front door to help close the door automatically when customers leave the restaurant and can't seem to close the door on their way out. We were seated next to the door and had to get up and close the door about eight times. Not handy when trying to enjoy a nice meal.
Food delicious, friendly, cozy place, would go again if ever in the area
Excellent Italian in small setting, staff very accommodating
Could not have been better!! Really, really enjoyed it! The ambiance is lovely and the decor is so cute. Perfect place for a date or family dinner. The menu is great with lots of variety. We had the gnocchi for a starter and shared a bottle of Malbec over dinner. Make sure to order dessert!! We had the tiramisu and Creme brûlée cheesecake. It was phenomenal. Worth the drive and can't wait to go back.
Large group of 10. Poor service by Waiter (who I suppose figured he had already earned his tip since 18% was added to the bill).
We live about a mile away from this place. It's in downtown Pacific Grove, which is quite small. PG is far enough away from Monterey & Carmel that we don't have nearly the amount of tourists and it's quiet. This restaurant has maybe about 15 tables, so it's intimate. It's not a "red & white checkered tablecloth" trattoria. It's a restaurant that is cozy, but not formal. The food is Italian and it's excellent. The prosecco is good & I always order the Barolo wine, which one doesn't see on wine lists very often. The service has always been great. Several of the waiters have been there for many years, which is unusual.
Great food, service and wine (as usual!). Best restaurant in PG. Period.
