We decided to use Fathoms for a 90th birthday party. After a slight snafu related to reservations, the rest of the afternoon went smoothly. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive. The food itself was even better than rumored. Every dish was very tasty - spicy without being overly so. The soups were HOT, which was a bonus since many places serve cold or tepid water and call it soup these days. We had a great time and will be returning.
Had the lobster mac cheese. Decent price, although sauce could have been a little creamier, few pieces of lobster tasted briny Served in a medium crowded crock, a pasta bowl would have worked better. The cucumber martini so-so. Loved the ambience though!
Our only complaint was that it was very noisy out on the deck. It made conversation somewhat difficult. However, the good and service was excellent.
The restaurant did not have our reservation when we arrived. They did a great job of accommodating our large group anyway.
Five of us for lunch, sat on the deck in a nice shady spot. Not much of a view but very pleasant. We all had seafood of one type or another, everything was good. Service OK, prices fair, noise level OK for a pretty crowded vneue.
What a great find! If the weather was better, sitting outside overlooking the water would have been delightful! Service and food were very good! Chowder was decadent and shrimp scampi was excellent. Table of 5 and all were pleased.
We went to Fathoms after a show in the winter, the place is very small and crowded with limited seating. My swordfish was overdone. However my husbands fried clams he said were very good. Our server was very nice and attentive We could see outside and it has a very large deck which I can imagine in the summer is great., that's what I would recommend this restaurant for.
Reconnected with a group of old friends for dinner . We were seated promptly upon arrival , the service was very good and we all enjoyed our meals. Will definitely return to Fathoms
Three of us girls had dinner at Fathoms Monday evening. I had made a reservation using open table.com. We were prompted seated, and visited by our waitress Tabitha. She was very sweet and attentive, and the food was delicious. We had a lovely evening out, enjoyed good food, good conversation and excellent service. The restaurant appeared very clean as well.
The most interesting bar I have ever seen. Friendly staff, lunch menu with lots of choices. W were seated outside on covered patio with bridge and water views. A nice experience for our group of 7.
The food is always delicious! The red pepper relish that goes on some of the seafood dishes really compliments the perfectly cooked seafood. The vegetable medley is absolutely mouth watering and pairs well with any protein and starch. Be sure to try the ahi tuna appetizer and the popcorn shrimp. The pizzas are very good too if you want something a little less fancy.
I live in Florida but whenever I am in MA and want good fresh seafood I go to Fathoms.
