Farro Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
My son and daughter-in-law recently (August 15th) celebrated their first wedding anniversary at Farro and they had a great time. We have been to this restaurant many times in the past. My son first proposed to his wife there back in 2013 and they were very helpful in organizing their special day. We have been to the restaurant as a family on special occasions and of course, we didn’t think twice about where to celebrate this time and Robert was very helpful in organizing this special day for them. We will definitely come back again and again.
Seven of us got together and had a wonderful time at Farro. It truly is a hidden gem. We were placed in an excellent part of the restaurant where we could see what was going on, yet had space enough to enjoy ourselves without feeling crowded. The atmosphere, service, and food, were all excellent, and I would highly recommend Farro to anyone who wants a fine Italian food experience.
Great restaurant for special occasion (adult birthday party). Although OpenTable would only accommodate maximum of four in reservation, a call to restaurant directly quickly allowed for needed 10 diners. This place is jumping on a Friday night and we didn't see an empty table until approaching 9 pm. There were several other large parties celebrating occasions. Food orders varied from "better than average" to "outstanding". Service was slow at times, but the place was packed. No problem getting split checks despite larger group. The only issue was waiting for parking spots, but everyone managed with no one more than 5 minutes late. We'd go back anytime if in the area. (Only the birthday celebrant was local.)
Tried this restaurant based on a few recommendations from friends and family. We were not disappointed. The service was friendly and fun. The food was very good and there was something for everyone - from delicious thin crust wood oven pizza to lamb. We will definitely be returning.
I'll say at the outset that I've known the principals of Farro for sometime but my positive review is from a very nice evening at the restaurant last weekend excellent friendly service
Food from specials menu was outstanding very comfortable evening and it didn't
Break the bank just what you are looking for on a snowy evening.
We booked a table at Farro for my husband's 35th birthday, just the two of us! It was fantastic! The food is fresh and full of wonderful flavours, not just heavily salted and bland like most chain restaurants these days! The service was outstanding! Attentive and helpful without being overwhelming. And they made us feel special and welcome and gave us a little love for my husband's birthday! Will recommend to family and friends and gladly return again!
Our server, Micheal, really made this evening! He was always ready but never intrusive, and his friendly banter added as much to the flavour of our 'date' as the food. Would definitely go back to see him. As for the food, I'd have to say it was good, not outstanding, and if we hadn't had such a lovely evening overall, the price would have felt less justifiable.
First off, I want to say the food here is exceptional and definitely worth the visit. This was my third visit to Farro, and by far the most disappointing experience I had.
Last year, I came here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and the staff were so exceptional. They went above and beyond in providing great service and also read the note I provided on OpenTable asking for a surprise dessert at the end. I did not expect the dessert to be complimentary, they insisted and in turn I definitely came back.
We returned to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday (three of us), I input the same notes in OpenTable. I know it's not guaranteed to be read, which is fine as I could remind the staff. I understand it was busy which can be the reason they did not have time to read it. This was not the issue however.
The issue was with the waiter (I believe his name was Jack). He placed us in the worst spot of the restaurant (right beside the front door and beside the waiter's computer). He said no one ever uses the front door so we decided to stay. Well, almost everyone was using the front door and it was fairly cold. We stuck through it, letting that issue slide.
The real issue was after dinner. He handed us the dessert menu and time had passed since he left. I realized they did not look at the reservation notes on OpenTable. So I told him it was my girlfriend's birthday, he came by and quietly said "Happy birthday" and left without asking if we wanted anything…
So I got up, spoke to the manager/owner and told him it was her birthday, the waiter quickly comes by and says "Yeah I know, I gave you the dessert menu". Seriously? I obviously wanted to get her something without her knowing from the start. I still ordered the dessert, unhappy at this point. I did not want anything given to us complimentary and paid for the dessert.
We spent a fair amount at the restaurant, so in return I expect some courtesy or appropriate service like we were provided on previous visits.
A neighbourhood gem that caters for adults who know and enjoy REAL food....while also friendly for kids. The pasta is the real deal, the wine list is impressive, and the service impeccably friendly and efficient. The first time we went as a couple (parents date night), this time with friend and 3 kids. Both experiences tell me this is our go-to from now on :)
Having come from Rochester NY, we were in town for only one evening and Farro was a terrific strook of luck. After looking on line we settled for Farro with no expectation due to ignorance. But...we had a great time. Our waiter was very ingaging and the team cocept of the wait staff provided excellent service. The food, and the wine selected by the waiter, was also excellent. The Saturday crowd was a bit boisterous and thus somewhat noisy, but our table was off to the side and relative quiet. It was nice to see everyone at the other tables having a good time. I'd definetly come back, and bring my friends.
We dine often at this restaurant because the ambiance is great and it's not too loud. The food is fantastic and you get a good amount for the price. Large selection of wine ranging in price and no worries if you're ordering more than one bottle. Overall, my friends and I love this place because it's affordable and it's not too loud allowing us to speak in normal volume.
The décor and ambiance are lovely. All the food was excellent; particularly enjoyed the Farro Risotto. Service was very good; wait staff had great sense of humour. As a special treat, we were compted a half bottle of Prosecco in honour of our birthdays. We will be back!
I was happy to find this place ! Their food was good (excellent pizza!), service is great and the place itself is not your usual suburb feel.... very nice, energetic and would definitely come again. I also liked the way they set their tables together for bigger crowds, definitely a good place for family events.
WE ORDERED CALAMARI , IN THE PHOTO GALLERY THEY SHOW A FULL PLATE, WHEN WE ORDERED THEY GAVE US NOT EVEN HALF THE QTY, THEY WERE HARD AND CHEWY AS IF YOU ARE EATING LEATHER, OTHER ITEMS WERE ALSO OVER PRICED AND SMALL PORTIONS, OVER ALL 2 1/2 TO 3 STARS MAX
Took my wife to Farro for her birthday. I had been several times for business or with friends and always liked the food.
I had made a reservation as it was a Friday night. The place was very busy and we arrived a little early and were seated immediately. I was a little disappointed with the seating as we were placed right beside the door at the front of the restaurant. Given the blustery, cold weather it was a little cool.
We ordered the soup of the day which was butternut squash puree to start. It was vey tasty and we were thankful that it was hot. For mains we had rack of lamb and osso buco. Both were excellent and came with vegetables that were cooked perfectly. My wife splurged and had the lemon/almond cake which was delicious.
They have a number of wines available in half bottle which is very rare in restaurants these days. All-in-all an excellent meal.
