Farro Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We are regulars, but we booked on Open Table this time, so another review is in order. It was fantastic as always. Everything. Food, Service, everything. Our table had all three specials, the pork chop, the sole, and the bucatini pasta. And I had the ever-awesome meat loaf. Great wine prices too.
I enjoyed the experience overall. The menu seemed a bit limited for people wanting lighter fare. I thought the pricing was high. Since so many menu items involved pasta, and the fish dishes were notably more expensive, there just were not enough "healthy" selections. The service was excellent. It was just a little too expensive and there were not enou
gh choices on the menu.
We having been looking for a good Italian restaurant in our area. Had to drive 20+ minutes to get here, but it was worth it. Exceptional service, very good food (especially the wild boar ragu), good wine, cozy and inviting atmosphere. We will return for sure.
I was not impressed. I had high expectations because I had seen the restaurant had good reviews. We had previously tried to eat there and weren't able to since we didn't have a reservation. So, we made a reservation and planned to eat there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I had the chicken parmesan and was really disappointed in the quality of the food. The breading on the chicken was soggy and tasteless and the marinara sauce was absolutely awful. It was pretty obvious that it came straight out of a can. My daughter had spaghetti and meatball with the same terrible sauce and a mediocre meatball. My husband had a creamy/cheese noodle dish that was actually pretty good. Disappointing though, since for the small number of items on the menu, you would expect a higher quality for each item. Not sure if we will return or not.
We were a party of three, and each of us was extremely pleased with our entrée. Absolutely delicious food. The bread basket brought before the meal was fantastic (especially the flatbread). A great value for above average food! The staff was very friendly and attentive.
My steak with Bernaise was delicious, likewise the fried mushroom appetizer. Tall booth backs help keep the noise level under control. However, each person who approached the table, and each time s/he approached, interrupted our conversation. Please just give me two seconds to finish my sentence before you speak.
Joined friends for dinner last Saturday evening. We were seated on time in a quiet location as requested. Three of us had specials of the evening-all different, one had the Chicken Parmesan. The salads were cold with excellent dressings. All of us very much enjoyed the food, the service and being together. I highly recommend Farro's for a casual, delicious dinner.
We have dined at Farro 3 times. Each time the wait staff was excellent. On last Saturday night, the hostess was excellent, she handled the heavy, eager crowd with aplomb and a smile.
The first time, the white bean soup was so outstanding, that I came close to licking the bowl. Since then, perhaps there is a new chef. The soup is so full of black pepper that it burns your mouth and I could not eat it. Last night, we had the special and it should be labeled CRACKED PEPPER pork marsala. There were very big pieces of black pepper. One of the breads in the basket was also heavy with black pepper.
My friend ordered the chicken marsala. The menu did note that vegetables were included--unusual but we like vegetables. There was NO marsala flavor. The other member of the party thought she was getting eggplant parmesan. Again, she should have read the menu closely. It was eggplant with a giant portobello mushroom and heavy melted mozzarella.
Great food, terrific staff (especially Dayton the manager). I'm a New York Italian from Brooklyn so I know my food, and I had tried many places out here that never quite hit the mark until I found Farro's. Now my go to place. Love the lobster ravioli special when available (wish it was a menu standard), hint, hint.
We look for every excuse to eat at Farro's! The food is dependably excellent. Apart from the printed menu there are always wonderful and interesting offerings on the black board. Whether you want something simple like their white bean soup (which is one of my favorites)steak or a fish choice we have never been disappointed. The seven year old in our group orders calamari and lemon cello cheese cake. The pasta is good and we enjoy their pizzas as well. Matt and his staff take the best care of their patrons! Prices and serving sizes are just right and we hope you will enjoy dinner at Farro's as we do
Denise was outstanding in both service and knowledge of the menu options and wine list. Everything was just right for our date night. My wife and I eat out almost every meal and this is definitely a favorite restaurant of ours. I hate to say how great it is as we don't want others to discover this gem. The smart thing Denise did was to sell us the last bottle of Brunello as her recommendation for it was spot on.
To begin with, the server was outstanding, and he made the evening for us right from the start. The wine suggestion he made was excellent. I ordered one of the specials for the evening, and was not disappointed, and my wife had the chicken parm, which she loves at Farro's. This is a small, unassuming place located in a strip center that could easily be missed when you drove by. But it is definitely worth the effort to find, and the food and service will not disappoint. It is a neighborhood place in a way, however, we drive about 25 miles one way to get there and the drive is well worth it.
