With 2 floors, offering seating inside and outside, Faros is a great venue for private and semi-private functions of all sizes. We look forward to serving the community of Brooklyn and the surrounding towns for many years to come.
Very old stile food ok not to busy and restaurant is not beautiful
Quality and selection are very good.
Service was on point. Will return again
we had an early appointment at 6:30 pm before most came we ate outside that greatly influence the noise level and therefore the ambiance. wait staff terrific we sat, drank wine, enjoyed our meals and talked. it was almost 9 pm when we left. although the restaurant inside, when we left, was bustling, outside in the garden there were only 2 other couples. staff did not hover over us to rush us out. not overpriced given wine appetizers and main course. a great dining experience.
Great food, unintrusive service, well-priced. Could be a bit quieter.
Wonderful food and pleasant ambiance
Great food, slow service. Overall, a great place, where I always find new dishes I really enjoy.
I took my cousins who were in from Pennsylvania and we were all pleased. As a Greek food lover and a frequent traveller to Astoria, I would compare this restaurant very favorably to any of those others. I certainly would go back to Faros.
The wait time for food was way too long for a Wednesday evening. It took almost an hour for our entrees to arrive.
Good food in comfortable surroundings good place to catch up with friends
Great for a date, portions are big, service was good.
This restaurant could use a more prominent awning because Ive lives in park slope a long time and didn’t realize it was here! But the food is amazing, so so good, and the atmosphere is charming. We came for a birthday dinner with 8 people and everyone was delighted by this restaurant. Now I want to come here all the time!
The brunch food was not bad, but not the best. I feel like they probably excel more with dinner. Will definitely be back to try it.
Lovely space well situated on 7th Avenue, and they even have a little garden in the back. We were there on a rainy Sunday, and had a lovely brunch. I think at a different time of day the noise level would be livelier. Lovely staff and the food was very good, but I suspect that their skills at Greek cooking are likely to be better represented over lunch and dinner dishes. Nonetheless, we enjoyed and we will return.
Absolutely amazing experience. Went for brunch for a birthday. The food was perfection, great service, very friendly and accommodating.
Great service, beautiful room, nicely prepared classic Greek dishes — though not as exciting flavors as you’d find in Astoria with higher prices. Is a solid neighborhood spot for a date with my wife.
Great local gem. Best lamb chops I've had in a long time. Tender and delicious.
The service was unprofessional and inexperienced. The menu was explained terribly and we were served the prix fixe despite explicitly saying we did not want it. We waited for an hour and 15 minutes and the food still had not come so we left.
Food was good, value was fair. Service was non-existent. They need significantly more waitstaff during the dinner rush. Asks (even for more wine) were constantly forgotten and it took forever to get the waiter’s attention.
Been here many times one if my favorite go to spots. In fact thinking I'm going back again tonight for the avgolemono soup and the spanokopita. Just like mamma used to make.
Birthday celebration! Food was absolutely delicious and service was great !
Faros is our go to family occasion local restaurant, but this is the first time we went for brunch on Sunday.
The brunch specials are very nice, coming with mimosa or bloody mary, but we didnt have them as they were not Greek specialties. We had the delicious Avgolemono soup....just perfect amount of lemon in the chicken base. The other never to disappoint dish is the moussaka with meat and vegetables in its individual crock. Excellent. Wait staff very attentive and pleasant.
Service was very limited. They need at least one more waiter. We told them we were in a rush but it still took 45 minutes from the time we ordered to get our food. We had to ask for them to check on the food or it never would have come. Same with getting the check. Food was good but I will never go back. The owner was not remotely welcoming. Just asked if I had a reservation and then ignored me. The restaurant is a bizarre shape- long and narrow - do not sit near the entrance.
Really delicious food!
All desserts are $12, which is rather steep for a bowl of fresh fruit -- I took most of it home. Otherwise the food and service is good
Faros has been one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants since it opened. Nice space, a good selection of tasty Greek food, and friendly service. For Valentine's Day, the service was friendly as ever if a bit slower. As is the case at many restaurants on special occasion days, there was a more limited prix fixe menu at a total price higher than what we usually pay other times. Not a big deal, just a reminder that going to a restaurant on a special occasion day can often involve some tradeoffs.
Faros is my fave restaurant in Park Slope. It’s perfect. The food is amazing.
A lovely and delicious time served with old world timing and respect ... will return without question !
The food was fabulous and the service excellent. I highly recommend it. I love their meat moussaka.
Authentic Greek fare in Brooklyn New York
A lovely Christmas Eve meal.
Average in almost every way. The service wasn't there, and the whole meal was just ok. I won't be back.
Amazing food and service. The waiter was so helpful and very knowledgable when it came to each food item. My husband said it was the best steak he had in his life, hands down. It was a great anniversary celebration.
We went there for Thanksgiving and had a great meal.
Food is good. distracted service. Medium chioice.
A must go....I have dined at Faros several times and have always experienced the food well prepared, tasty and visually appealing. This was no exception. Though with a small group we only had 2 different dishes, they were delicious. The moussaka is done in an oven baked croc as an individual portion...It is somewhat nontraditional in that it includes potato, eggplant, zucchini, ground sirloin layered and baked in a bechamel sauce. It is excellent. The other dish we ordered was the baked tilapia with what we substituted as greek style rice instead of plain pilaff. Greek style rice includes spinach and tomato and is totally delicious. Both the fish and the rice are seasoned perfectly and balanced eachother well. The greek style rice pudding and very sweet Greek espresso style coffee finished the meal perfectly.
One of our favorite restaurants in the area, every meal here has been a 10. We have come both for quiet date nights and large celebration gatherings with space to easily accommodate 8 at a round table. Service is always great. Excellent dishes include the Tzatziki, Hummus, Mussels, Marouli salad, Gemista, and the Grilled Chicken with Rice Pilaf–the most tender chicken I have ever had. A quiet neighborhood gem that truly delivers.
Goid foods and great place to have conversation without loud music or other noise.
Food was amazing.
Faros has a great ambience with exposed brick walls, a Mediterranean style fireplace on each of its two floor, Greek music floating in the air and lovely outside seating areas on each floor. The service is very pleasant and they are very accommodating to specific needs. The food seemed to be very fresh and was tasty but if you like salt, as I do, start out your meal making sure there's a salt shaker on the table.
