We go there very often. Consistently good food and great service.
Good and service were top notch. We were seated by the window and it was really cold… we would suggest a bit more warmth on cold winter nights. Otherwise it was fantastic.
Very mediocre food . Ordered a steak med rare - it was a cheap cut , and medium at best , very chewy. Our orders were mixed up , waited for our food for almost an hr.
Ate there two weeks in a row.
Love the apple tart
Magnificent experience, again
We were seated at the time of our reservation which is always nice! Our server was attentive and courteous. I had the mushroom toast as an appetizer which was amazing. I would go back again just to have a repeat of that. My entre was the seasonal risotto with squash and sage and was excetional.
Delicious food, excellent vegetarian options. One of our favorite restaurants in Greater Boston!
Great food and service for Sunday brunch. We’re never disappointed at Farmstead.
Delicious brunch! You can tell all food is made on the premises.
We had an 8pm reservation and we were promptly seated. Unfortunately the popovers had been sitting in the oven so they were very crunchy not soft. The Caesar salad was very fishy. I had the Statler chicken which was delicious. My husband had the Risotto which he did not enjoy. Our waiter was fabulous. The couple next to us got the Pan Seared Cod and said the fettuccini was delicious.
We had a delicious meal on Saturday night, a large group. Great food and ambience.
Our dinners were amazing, started with popovers and salad, excellent, and had pork chop and cod entrees. The pork chop was the tastiest I have had, everything was cooked to perfection. John our waiter though really made the evening for us.....great guy and exactly the right level of attentiveness. They may not have a huge wine selection, but the French Sauvignon Blanc was just right. Our first time there but definitely not the last.
The food was 10 out of 10. Wait staff was excellent. They D
did a great job with the timing of the appetizers and entrées. Food portions were perfect. Cocktails were great. We will definitely be back.
We were there for lunch. I ordered the soup, salad and popover since they indicate that popovers are their specialty. The popover was disappointing. It was thin and dried out. The soup was nothing special - a tomatoey broth with chicken and farro, but with a layer of fat on top. The salad was good. The servers were very nice.
Waiter was very accommodating but it took quite a while to receive our food, about 45 minutes.
Cool place and good food. We booked a table for 4 + toddler inside and they sat us in a table there was not room for all of us so they placed us in the back patio besides there were more tables with more room inside (I'm assuming they were also booked) and it was pretty cold so that was the only con. The food and the service was pretty good.
Outstanding food, great people. A regular stop when in the area.
Lunch menu was interesting and did was delicious.
Although the menu is short, it is very good. The Popovers are a must. The mussels were delicious. The 2 entrees we ordered were exceptional. Highly recommend.
we reserved an outdoor table having previously seen the ones out front however we were seated in a converted back alley which was dark and windy(cold!)
We were told that the front tables were only for parties of 4 or more...we should have been told this as we would have gone elsewhere
Delicious brunch. Started with the popovers, baked perfectly. A little crispy on the outside, moist and tender inside. All dishes for our group got high marks-duck confit hash, breakfast sandwich, Farmstead breakfast plate, Caesar salad. Service attentive and smooth.
Only glitch was with open table. I was confirmed for indoors at 10:30 a.m.; late in the evening a change message came in moving us to 1:00pm (wouldn’t work); about 2 minutes later another message came confirming the 10:30 res. When we arrived our table was outside, not inside as initially reserved. Fortunately it was a nice day and the heater units work well!
Delicious food, beautiful heated patio, outstanding service.
Great small outdoor dining area. Food was delicious
Really enjoyed the food and experience. Make sure you make a reservation, it is very popular! The pancakes are worth the trip. Looking forward to going for dinner.
Food was delicious. Service was gracious. And the back patio was lovely.
Food was Awful
Waiter was nice
Our waiter was excellent and the food was delicious
Terrific service and great food! Lovely outdoor seating.
The food was disappointing, and the service uneven
Always wonderful at farmstead and eating outside is a real treat!
Great casual place for a date lunch or dinner. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Food is reasonably priced and tastes amazing!
As always, it was lovely on the back porch - new items on the menu and everyone found something to eat.
Food is amazing! Best mimosas too! Ambience is a little off with quilts on the wall and very quiet music.
We feel so lucky to have Farmstead in our neighborhood. Great food; friendly, professional staff.
Wonderful back patio for outdoor dining. Menu is short, but creative. Fresh ingredients truly shine.
We had brunch outside, in the back and it was great. The server was awesome, attentive and experienced. I have a dairy sensitivity and he handled that with ease. The menu was creative and appealing and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the brunch!
The Popovers and homemade jam are delicious and the quiche I had yesterday was perfect, very delicate. Starting with "Garden Party" our only regret was we had to choose and leave so many delicious options untasted, such as the mushroom toast!
We had a great time! Loved the food choices and everything was scrumptious. The labor shortage is real, though. Service was pretty slow. Our waitress was very up front about it but wanted to mention it.
We sat outside and there appeared to be two servers between 7 tables who also served the inside.
Either way, we’ll be back!
We were looking forward to some clean food and a nourishing experience. Although the food was good, we were so disappointed with the experience. Every single worker there seemed extremely unhappy and barely said a word to us! Never seen anything like it. They all seemed so miserable and mute! It really ruined the experience. Not sure why they act that way, but they certainly won't be open very long if they continue to act so unhappy to be there. What a shame.
They were very busy and likely understaffed which meant waiting to for a server to find us (I had to remind the host) and a very long wait to get the check paid (had to track down the host again). Our server seemed pretty stressed. It's a tough time for the restaurant biz, better to support them through this and be patient. Food was outstanding, and arrived promptly.
