My third or fourth time at Farmstead. Each visit has been fantastic. DO NOT miss the popovers! Drumlin Farm beets were to die for. Never had a bad dish here. Super staff too. Highly recommended!
Not a cheap lunch but food is good every time. Popovers, salad w blueberries and grilled chicken and chicken tacos was a special sisters lunch treat.
The food is amazing, the service is great. This local gem is consistently a favorite!
They ran out of the fish early in the day. Should plan better.
Service wasn’t great. Food was average for this price point.
Will definitely be back!
Delicious-sounding dishes, verified by our selections, each of which had fresh, ingeniously combined ingredients with discrete but complementary flavors.
This was a delightful place to have a birthday lunch with good friends! First, we started off with Popovers that this restaurant is known for. Delicious! The fare is light, creatively presented, and mouthwateringly good! We topped off our birthday lunch with the delectable hazelnut/expresso tart. The portion was large enough for the three of us to share. Our pleasant waitress encouraged us to have a good time. She was attentive with refills of water and ice tea. We had all looked forward to this event and our choice of restaurant turned out to be perfect1
Farmstead has consistently great service and food - much of that sourced locally. Salads and popovers are not to be missed. Fish is always prepared perfectly. Service is attentive. House wine is great. Atmosphere is relatively quiet and calm and unhurried (you can carry on a conversation without raising your voice ...). It is a go to dinner on weekdays, weekends, birthdays, graduations, New Years, or just when the spirit moves.
Add some background music for ambiance & addl wait staff...
otherwise delicious meal.
A small welcoming restaurant with interesting preparations, a friendly staff, and a great place for a nice quiet meal. The popovers and the swordfish with carrots and radishes were fantastic. Just a delight
Food was quite good. A bit pricey since the portions are pretty small. The corn tacos and the bluefish were good. Was a little disappointed that the website touted its large selection of vegetarian options, but there were not that many - I guess with a name like "Farmstead Table" I was expecting a bit more. Ambiance s bit lacking. Nice tables, but hard chairs are not the most comfortable.
We were meeting old friends — had a wonderful time catching up over a lovely meal
Very yummy, and great ambiance
Food prepared very well and very tasty. Portions: The fish portion was reasonable though not generous. It was quite sufficient for reasonable eating. The vegetables that went with the fish were well presented but the portion size was skimpy for the price.
The Drumlin Farm Beets
Basil walnut pesto
French feta, za’atar, evoo was a bit disappointing with the Walnuts Pesto being more bitter than flavorful but the beets were excellent.
Street Corn Tacos
Whipped avocado, Salvadorian curtido, cotija
grilled corn tortillas, house-made hot sauce aioli Were excellent!
2 visits there I had Blueberry Black Raspberry Cobbler
Basil bergamot ice cream, corn meal biscuit topping and that is a must if you like desert.
I will return!
A plate full of inedible pea stems and a cut up plum a popover and $20 bill . So disappointed. Waitress could care less. Too bad . It used to be good
Excellent food! Been there 3 times and everytime I'm blown away by how amazing the food is.
Meals magnificent as usual but prices have certainly risen over the last year or so
Food was excellent, but service was slow. We have noticed this before when dining. Waitstaff was very, very nice, but it was a bummer to have to wait so long between courses.
Waiter was very good, food was great. It was a hot night and expected a big crowd, but it was rather quiet at 6 pm. I had made reservations the day before, just in case. A bit pricey, but it is worth the good service and fresh food. I got the swordfish and my friend got the special of scallops. We would go back.
Went for dinner during a hot day and it was a delight. Tons of healthy, local options. We actually ate all of the apps/small plates and had the turnovers. Service was great. Would definitely go again.
Delightful! Great, fresh food
Johnny was great! Food was very good.
One of the best restaurants around! Fabulous service - friendly, fun, gave great suggestions and knew every detail on the menu. Food was outstanding as usual. We had corn tacos as an appetizer and the scallop “fish of the day” for an entree. Outstanding flavors while being light and delicious. Highly recommend. We’ll be back soon!
We had another lovely luncheon experience. Thank you to the staff.
It's a great informal restaurant. All the dishes are delicious and original and the menu changes to reflect what's fresh for the season. The wait staff is attentive and warm.
We have recently discovered Farmstead and always enjoy the homey atmosphere and farm fresh menu. We’ve gone for brunch, lunch and dinner. I think brunch is my favorite ... though sitting in the bar area for an appetizer and drink is also a lot of fun.
Don’t miss the amazing popovers with butter and homemade jam - forget the calories and enjoy.
We also love the snap pea tacos, huevos rancheros, salads and just about everything on the small but wonderful and interesting menu. I haven’t had anything I don’t like there.
Its never too noisy and I always notice noise level so this is a big plus for us.. I never feel
Rushed and service is just wonderful.
John was my server. He was great. I told him I liked dry wines and he suggested a great wine for my dinner choices. He suggested a great dessert. Was really impressed with the service and the food was great
We have been to FGarmstead Table many times, but for some reason, the dinner that we had recently was absolutely OUTSTANDING. And, our waiter (can't recall his name but he is the bartender) was wonderful. Friendly without being intrusive, and helpful in recommendations and suggestions. He was just great. We will DEFINITELY go again.
Outstanding service, delicious food – I always order the fish of the day, and a nice wine list by the glass. Gazpacho was delish. Truly a neighborhood gem.
I love Farmstead Table! The food is always fresh and delicious in with speciality of the season! I highly recommend this gem of a neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Newton, Massachusetts.
As expected, wonderful all around.
The food was excellent - the gazpacho was the star. It had umami that I’m unaccustomed to in a vegan dish. The portions were on the small side, which we were grateful for. We didn’t leave overfilled nor underfed. Affable service, but didn’t love sitting in the bar area when we’d made a reservation.
Consistently great food—small menu but excellent choices, love the vibe, great friendly service.
Outstanding food as always, great atmosphere for a conversation with friends. One of our go-to restaurants and a longtime favorite.
Farmstead Table is a favorite "go-to" restaurant that I can count on
to never disappoint/always quality food, service , memorable experience.
Birthday brunch for Grandma!
My husband and I love this quiet little neighborhood restaurant. The food is very good and embraces the delight of quality, in season produce. I eat lower carb than most and I always have plenty of healthy options here. The service is very friendly and the bartender will remember you. Definitely recommend!
