   There for brunch. Nice atmosphere. Waiter didn’t seem to happy to have us there. Salads were excellent. Tiny quiche was dry and not worth the price. Chicken in the chickens sandwich was dry and accompanied by a massive amount of fries. If brunch offerings were an indication of dinner quality, I wouldn’t go back for dinner.

   My husband and I met another couple for dinner. Waiter/bartender was great. Very personable and made a great off menu drink. Food came out quickly and was delicious.

   Popovers were overcooked and dry. Grilled cheese was not grilled, more like toasted and slightly warm inside. Best item we had was the quiche. Waiter was fantastic. This place is now overpriced for what it is. Not the place it used to be.

    Food was excellent, service was efficient, ambiance is artsy and fun. Lively, but quiet enough so you can hold a conversation. My 81 year old mother and 25 year old daughter both enjoyed our brunch—so good for all ages, too! The grilled cheese and tomato bisque were delicious but soup was not hot enough. Coffee was only so-so. That said, we will be back!

    I repeat only a few restaurants and Farmstead is one that I enjoy for brunch or lunch at Farmstead. The Meal: Lunch with a Friend Fried chicken sandwich with gem salad Cheeseburger with truffle fries. Everything was perfect with exception of one thing. I always love the fries but this time the fries were limp. I caught the attention of a single over busy wait staff person (hostess and only wait staff) who came over after 1/2 our meal was done. She was courteous enough once hearing my fries criticism to send over another - no charge. The second batch was a bit better but not as usual. Will it keep me away? No, I’ll make sure to mention the need for crispy fries. I think it was just an odd thing as it had never happened before and the rest of the meal was as good as ever.

    The evening started well. The farmers salad was fresh and appetizing. The cioppino broth was tasty, but the clams and monkfish were overdone. The mushroom raviolis were the only vegetarian dish and it was good - not amazing. Unfortunately, there was some accident in the kitchen that might have explained why part of the meal was below average. There were apologies for the wait, but no one offered to refill our drinks. We finally flagged down the waiter and asked to have a round of drinks as compensation which the restaurant did agree to. Just found the overall experience to be disappointing.

    You have a limited time to eat. We were there for my friend's birthday brunch and the staff kept trying to get us to leave. They kept shooting looks....and taking things away. It made the time unpleasant...we will not be back.

    I like Farmstead Table and go there with some frequency. My last visit, however, was not up to standard. The service was very slow. After we ordered, it took at least half an hour for our salads to arrive. My lunch companion's added grilled chicken was partially undercooked. Our server, who was very good--no complaints there--ordered another grilled chicken breast for my friend's salad. That took about another half hour

    Wonderful, warm staff. The most amazing cocktails and delicious food. I’ve never had a bad meal there and I eat there A lot. Brunch is equally amazing! The pancakes are in a league of their own.

    Quaint lovely little spot for brunch/lunch/dinner. Service is very friendly and the foods overall is very good, with a few details that could improve. The basket of puffs were great, although they are slightly overdone. Similarly, the potatoes on the Farmer’s Plate as well as the fries on the steak frites were burnt. Otherwise, the bread was good, eggs and bacon were fine. The steak was cooked on point to requested temp and was tasty as was the accompanying salad. The lox was very tasty as was the cuban blackbean soup with braised pork…although this was labeled VG (? Vegan).

    Food was delicious, and easy to have a conversation (low noise level). Service could have been a bit more attentive, but was very friendly. Lunch was $100 for two people, so not cheap.

    My husband and I were greeted for breakfast by the friendly knowledgeable bar manager. The decor was understated yet fresh, tasteful and beautiful just as our farmstead table breakfast! We are looking forward to returning for dinner!

    Farmstead has been a neighborhood favorite for us for a number of years (although it is more than that if you do not live in Newton). Our most recent meal was excellent! Mushroom board, Seatrout, and Cioppino were fun and presented beautifully, the portions generous, and the wait staff informed and excited about the menu. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be back, as always.

    Celebrating new job for our daughter. Visit was great though our kids thought it took much too long to get the food to the table. It did take a great deal of time but was so delicious! It was our second time dining and did not disappoint.
