FARMiCiA Ratings and Reviews
This was a really nice gem to find for a Sunday brunch. I would recommend making reservations because it was packed! However, our services was fairly quick and our server was super sweet. Some of the tables are extremely close together, which really isn't a problem depending on who you are near (We happened to be next to a group who were a little rude about sharing a bench but it was okay). All in all, I will TOTALLY go again. The food was delicious and the drinks were new and yummy. I'm actually planning on going back really soon. A cute cute CUTE little place in Olde City :)
First time dining here for brunch. Ordered chicken waffles. Chicken was very good. The waffle was ok. For some reason butter was not served with the waffle. A gravy was served on the side for the chicken. Overall the meal was good. Not outstanding, but good enough to come again. Bloody Mary was good.
Good food with indifferent service. For brunch, there was no offer to refill coffee, no statement that there were specials off the menu, no explanation of the condiments plopped in the table. My fruit and yogurt “starter” arrived as just an over priced small dish of fruit salad with no yogurt. Over all there are much better options for a good brunch, but I was willing to pay the tab for a comfortable table without a lot of noise.
On this occasion two of us, one vegetarian/one vegan, had dinner before the theatre. Asked for a quiet table and they went out of their way to accommodate--even on a busy Friday night. My partner had vegan risotto croquettes that were delicious and visually stunning. Garnishes and sauces included three types (white, green, purple) of charred cauliflower, hubbard puree, sprigs of cilantro, and romesco sauce garnished with toasted pumpkin seeds. OMG--the plate had the subtle shades and careful placements of a Vermeer painting. Their French lentil salad with goat cheese was another winner and, of course, they have the best bread in the city. (I noticed a steak entree at the next table. It too was beautiful and the diner was obviously happy with it.) Great happy hour; great waitstaff. If you pay cash, they discount 10%.
Fabulous food, but unfortunately an off day for service. The French toast was exceptionally light and delicious. The shrimp over cheese grits was a perfect blend and superbly seasoned. Would have liked a little more attention from the servers for clearing of plates and refilling water and coffee.
A weekday afternoon is the quiet time in this busy restaurant. The ambiance is great any time, right now it's beautiful fall colors. I particularly like the crispy tilapia with roasted potatoes which we ate at lunch, but I did admire the burgers at the neighboring table, until my food arrived. We have eaten here many times and bring friends with us too.
Had a great Saturday brunch at Farmacia.
Restaurant was just the right amount of liveliness without being too loud for conversation.
Food was very good! Service was good and the drinks were 1/2 price during a rare brunch happy hour. What more could you ask for???
Went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our server was flat, didn’t know the menu well, and the special Brussels sprouts appetizer was so salty it was inedible. My husband had the steak and I had the duck. Both were tough, hard to chew and had no flavor. Our entrees came out before we had the necessary silverware, and we noticed that our neighbor’s entrees came out as they were still working on their appetizer. Overall, very disappointing and highly overpriced.
I let them know through Open Table that we were celebrating my client's birthday. The food was great as usual, but the service could not have been worse. We waited for 15-20 minutes before anyone came over to take our drink order. They offered complimentary dessert, but I was expensing anyway and wanted my client to enjoy the experience rather than getting anything comped. I was truly embarrassed and will not entertain clients there in the future.
I had a disappointing meal on a Saturday night at Farmicia. I ordered the Roasted Eggplant Cannelloni, which was described as including "Italian grain & ricotta filling, roasted tomato sauce, white beans." What arrived was a big plate of white beans, with no sauce in sight, and two pathetic little pieces of "eggplant cannelloni" plopped down in the middle. The dish should have been called White Beans, with some eggplant on the side. My husband's Capellini & Sauteed Tofu was better, although it was served lukewarm. Won't be going back.
This is the second time my husband and I have gone to farmicia. it offers a healthy menu selection, deliciously prepared and affordable. It has a BYOB (and full bar) so we brought our own bottle of wine and kept our bill at bay. Plus they take 10% off for cash. Delicious, nutritious & great staff!
This was my first meal at FARMiCia. I had heard great things and I was not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We were able to sit at the open doors on a warm, fall day and it was a wonderful table. I would highly recommend it!
