FARMiCiA Ratings and Reviews
Went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our server was flat, didn’t know the menu well, and the special Brussels sprouts appetizer was so salty it was inedible. My husband had the steak and I had the duck. Both were tough, hard to chew and had no flavor. Our entrees came out before we had the necessary silverware, and we noticed that our neighbor’s entrees came out as they were still working on their appetizer. Overall, very disappointing and highly overpriced.
I let them know through Open Table that we were celebrating my client's birthday. The food was great as usual, but the service could not have been worse. We waited for 15-20 minutes before anyone came over to take our drink order. They offered complimentary dessert, but I was expensing anyway and wanted my client to enjoy the experience rather than getting anything comped. I was truly embarrassed and will not entertain clients there in the future.
I had a disappointing meal on a Saturday night at Farmicia. I ordered the Roasted Eggplant Cannelloni, which was described as including "Italian grain & ricotta filling, roasted tomato sauce, white beans." What arrived was a big plate of white beans, with no sauce in sight, and two pathetic little pieces of "eggplant cannelloni" plopped down in the middle. The dish should have been called White Beans, with some eggplant on the side. My husband's Capellini & Sauteed Tofu was better, although it was served lukewarm. Won't be going back.
This is the second time my husband and I have gone to farmicia. it offers a healthy menu selection, deliciously prepared and affordable. It has a BYOB (and full bar) so we brought our own bottle of wine and kept our bill at bay. Plus they take 10% off for cash. Delicious, nutritious & great staff!
This was my first meal at FARMiCia. I had heard great things and I was not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We were able to sit at the open doors on a warm, fall day and it was a wonderful table. I would highly recommend it!
Family brunch day in Philly. Opportunity to spend time together sharing good food, bloody mary’s, cocktails at a well run dining establishment. Ambiance has nice decor, music playing lightly in the background and people of all ages eating creative choices from options offered. Attentive and friendly waiter and good food.
The food was plentiful (the portions were enormous) and the vegetarian selections were ample. Unfortunately, they are rather stingy with the bread. The bread server comes around only once, and he gives each diner only one slice of bread. This is hardly adequate.
The cocktail prices take a little getting used to but that's the city, eh. A very nice lunch with my daughter Her eggplant plate was outstanding, cooked perfectly. The sauce was tasty but allowed for the delicate eggplant to come through. Her father's crab salad was quite fresh, as should be, with a very nice dressing. A little light on the blue crab though. We both look forward to a return to Farmica.
My GF and I had a pleasant Sunday night dinner at Farmicia. Our appetizers were delicious. My grilled octopus appetizer was the highlight of the meal. It was outstanding. Our entrees were mixed. My GF enjoyed her tuna but my duck breast was way past the requested medium rare temp I requested.
The service was the low point of the evening. Our server was pleasant but much more of an order taker than one who knew the menu intimately and could answer any questions we had about items. When we inquired about the details of menu ingredients, her response was "that menu item is my favorite."
We appreciate the no-corkage fee BYOB option.
Another great meal and dining experience at FARMiCia. Our server, Michael, was outstanding. My fiance has celiac disease and he was attentive to her concerns with questions to the kitchen. He have me a perfect wine recommendation for dinner. All courses of our meal were well prepared and tasted phenomenal. The bar was a great spot for an after dinner drink. We can't wait to go back!
This has been our 4th time eating at Farmicia and we love everything about it. Having Celiac I am always concerned about eating out, however eating at this restaurant has always been a great experience. They know a lot about gluten free and cross contamination. The menu has a lot of options. Great restaurant!
The restaurant is beautiful. Very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. We went for dinner on a Sunday before heading out to a concert. They do have two menus, a lunch and a dinner which are completely different. So it was weird that the table next to us was having burgers but we were not able to order burgers (you can only order off the lunch menu at dinner time if you sit at the bar). I had the sweet potato gnocchi, it was a little too sweet but not bad. We will be going back to try the lunch menu, the person that recommended the restaurant bragged about the burgers and sandwiches.
Great dinner as always but service was way off the evening we were there. Server never returned to see how our meals were after we were served. Had wanted another glass of wine but by the time we were able to get his attention we were just about through with our meal. Disappointing. Hopefully just an off night...
