Located in Philadelphia’s historic Old City, FARMiCiA is a quiet place to get something good to eat; serving lunch, an afternoon meal, a relaxed dinner & even brunch on the weekends. While FARMiCiA boasts a full bar, parties under 8 guests are also allowed to BYO Wine to pair with our farm fresh fare.
First time I was ever offered what kind of bread I want before my meal! I got the pan fried fish and it was so tasty and crispy! I would highly recommend going!
Ate early because we had a performance, so we had happy hour drink prices -- excellent! Smoked salmon starter was exceptionally good, as were our other dishes. I've eaten here several times over the years, and Farmicia always fulfills expectations. Keep up the good work.
very tasty and great service. Everything was very good and fresh!
This is a brunch review. The service was very good, but the food really was not. The coffee was essentially water. The eggs were ok but very very salty. And the mixed greens in the side salad were wilted on arrival and inedible. Overall, it seemed like they couldn’t master basic things — coffee, eggs, salad — and really wasn’t worth it. Won’t be going back.
Great place to go for a nice fresh meal experience!
Delicious food, great service, lovely atmosphere. We were a party of 4, and had a great time with our young adult son and his partner. They don't go out to eat all that often, and they felt very pampered. The range of items on the menu is great--I had a delicious vegetarian entree, and the carnivores in our group were very satisfied with what they ordered. The brownie sundae dessert was a great finale.
Had a great brunch! Chicken and waffles were quite good- plus half priced drinks!
Delicious! Good service. We had a great time! The Bloody Mary was delicious.
Great menu and service!
Both the food and service were excellent. Menu had a wide variety of tasty and healthy options. Even though they sell alcohol, you can still bring in a bottle of wine, which is a very pleasant surprise. Would definitely return to try more of the delicious menu items.
Lunch then Dinner. Two differenct dishes. Each excellent. Good value and excellent flavor.
Wonderful service. Despite being busy, we did not feel rushed through our meal.
Had reservation for 12 noon and arrived to loud, packed restaurant. We were seated within 10 minutes and server came by soon after. Ordered coffee and tea and when they arrived we ordered selections for brunch. Did I mention loud.
1/2 hour later no food or coffee refill although server served tables next to us who arrived after we did. Finally, after 45 minutes my partner stopped server. I asked where appetizer was... he apologized and said soon. Another 15 minutes and apps arrived. Server forgot to enter order we think. 2 tables next to us we’re eating long before use food was mediocre at best. Smoked salmon was fatty. Omelette was on the dry side and same for pancake. Nice thing was 10% discount if you paid cash. I did.
People must like the place as it is packed...and loud. I prefer smaller, quieter, more intimate setting
The food is normally really good! Maybe it was an off day. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal. I ordered the chicken and waffles and did not like them at all. The grits were great though. My waiter, I think his name Capabello wasn’t very friendly but he did adjust my bill. So that was good. I would still recommend this place.
Cesar salad is unremarkable
Based on the other reviews, I was concerned about the service however, it was exceptional! We informed our server when we arrived that we had tickets to the theater and he was very understanding. Drinks are fun - go for one of the specialty drinks! We ordered a Hummus app for the table and it was perfect. The duck was amazing. I would highly recommend!
Noisy but service and food good. Must have a reservation for Saturday brunch.
Great place to gather 3 generations for a family birthday!
Underwhelming. Apps were good, entrees were just ok. My wife’s duck was cold, sent it back, new hot dish arrived 10 minutes later but was inedible (think thick rubber skin). Manager Justin asked if he could get her something else and she declined. He said “ok” and left. Thankfully Wawa has hot dogs. No need to return to FARMiCiA with so many restaurants in Philly that actually make an effort!
My chicken was outstanding! So tender and delicious - a treat! My Caesar salad before dinner was blah. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever.
We had a group of 4 people. The food was fantastic and the servers couldn’t have been more accommodating. They divided salads for us and opened and poured and served wine we brought. Being able to BYIB saves a TON of money on the overall bill. Still, it’s a little pricey but well worth it!
I enjoyed my first visit to FARMiCia restaurant. I had heard very good things about it through reviews and other family members who have eaten there, and it certainly lived up to it's expectations. I enjoyed the brie appetizer and the duck breast for my entrée. The appetizer was attractive on the plate and also was very tasty. The duck breast was my favorite part of the meal - the flavors of the duck and the sweet potato puree were so complimentary of each other. Dessert was very good as well, although the portion of crème brulee was rather small. It was served in a ramekin but there was very little custard actually in the dessert - that is the only fault. Otherwise, overall an exceptional meal and I will definitely visit again when traveling in that area.
Healthful and tasty food. Nice wines by the glass.
Happy hour pricing applies to drinks served at table not just at the bar. 😊
Particularly nice when you have a window seat, which we did. The food here never disappoints.
Good food reasonably priced.
The service was very good.
My wife and I had an exceptional experience. Very good.
Heat vent under our table was blasting. Very uncomfortable.
Pre-theater dinner was very good. The half priced drinks are a welcome feature Both the pork chops and the duck were very good, as was the service.
My husband and I went for his birthday dinner. We started with drinks that were a great price for the quantity. We had the trio of cheese, amazing, and the olives, which came with a great amount. I had the fish filet with roasted potatoes and broccoli which was perfect. My husband had the steak and there was nothing left on his plate when he was done. We would definitely go back for another date night!
The broad range of menu choices is very helpful when one doesn’t know the other guests well, and wants each person to find a good meal. The atmosphere is friendly, not too noisy, all relatively informal, and affordable.
Great!!!! One of our favorite brunch spots
We went for a Sunday brunch. The menu looked good but the prepared food was decidedly mediocre. Our meals arrived and consisted of a soggy waffle, the equivalent of store bought pita with store bought humus and bland grits supposedly with cheddar cheese. The restaurant was full and noisy. Our waiter seemed stretched and did ask if everything was ok but did not take the time to stay for our answer. I would not go again.
Fabulous food and cocktails were had. Service staff were friendly and attentive. Only issue was having to wait over 30 minutes for a pre-booked table.
Farmacia has delicious fresh food. Brunch is always quite busy. Our server seemed a bit frazzled.
The food was well prepared and the portions were very large. I also enjoyed the variety of food and cocktails. Our server was excellent, very attentive without hovering. The restaurant experience was diminished by the noisiness of the place. I could barely hear the person across from me. Also the tables are too close together. We had to move the table so I could get our of my seat.
The server was not attentive and or showed any signs he enjoyed his job. The food was either burnt or oily expect for the complimentary bread with butter which was excellent. Honestly second time I am back to give this restaurant another try but for the price they are charging for food I can’t go back again.
Amazing food !! Great service and beautiful ambiance. Just love this place.
Not so pleased. A few hairs in food. Wait help not too friendly. Rain came in on floor and made my pocketbook and birthday presents wet. And when I asked for a different salad dressing on my salad, I was charged an extra $1.00. Not too pleased. They should do better than this.
