FARMiCiA is the conception of Kevin Klause, James Barrett & Wendy Smith Born (owners of Metropolitan Bakery), who share a vision of a restaurant that captures the pleasures of simply crafted food & excellent beverages served in a relaxed yet lively environment. The emphasis is on great tasting food & beverages crafted from local, organic & artisanal producers.

Located in Philadelphia’s historic Old City, FARMiCiA is a quiet place to get something good to eat; serving lunch, an afternoon meal, a relaxed dinner & even brunch on the weekends. While FARMiCiA boasts a full bar, parties under 8 guests are also allowed to BYO Wine to pair with our farm fresh fare.

Park your car in the Park America lot adjacent to the restaurant on 3rd Street, at the Bourse Garage located on 4th Street between Market & Chestnut Streets, or the AutoPark at Old City, which is located on 2nd Street between Chestnut & Walnut Streets. There is a smaller lot on N. 3rd – the other side of Market – between Market & Arch as well. Metered street parking is also available throughout Old City, but you might not want to waste your time looking for one!

Join us for Dinner Happy Hour Tuesday through Friday from 5 pm to 7pm and Brunch Happy Hour on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm. All alcoholic beverages are offered at half the price, that includes draught beer, specialty cocktails, tonics, glasses of wine, etc. Pair a Barn Burner (FARMiCiA's own Bloody Mary) or a glass of champagne with your meal for half the price. What a great way to start the day and such a good deal!.

My fiancé and I had a great date night here! Enjoyed the Trio of Cheeses, Tuna entree and Roasted Chicken. My fiancé has Celiac Disease and the waiter was attentive and assured us that everything was prepared safely. We will definitely be back!

Went for brunch. It started off rocky as the table we were waiting for was given to another couple, which was very disappointing. The service otherwise was good and the food was very good.

Great experience. There were three of us friends that got together for dinner. Brought a bottle of red wine with us. Split 4 different small plates and spent less than $20 per person which i was pleasantly surprised by. Great service. Food was great. Would recommend.

We sat at the bar which was busy; it was really understaffed and very difficult to get the attention for fresh drinks or order additional food items. We managed to order the special donuts for dessert and they were horrible—literally dripping with grease. The rest of the food we ordered was delish.

The hostesses and (my) servers either are displeased with working Saturday mornings or just hate service work. Only saw our server twice, to take the order and deliver the check. The water guy though was helpful and assisted us instead as he was more available. Left the bill with the hostess as we left, using a gift card, cause the server never returned.

The food is good but would not recommend the breakfast burrito if you are looking for something more than a few scattered potatoes on a plate and some eggs and sausage wrapped in a tortilla. It’s not much to look at and for $12 I would have thought it would look better, but tastes alright. The vegan burrito is much more tasty and eye pleasing, cheaper too.

If you arrive at 945 you won’t be able to order brunch since it starts at 10. Our server didn’t even come over till we’ll past 10 and still was not allowed to order brunch since we arrived “too early”.

I’ve had drinks here before and was excited to have breakfast, but this was a terrible way to start a good Saturday.

Our lunch was delicious and the service was outstanding. We loved our waiter who was attentive and responsive. We also support Farmicia ‘s policies on local sourcing and ecology. They don’t use straws. Yay!

Food was very tasty. Service was somewhat disorganized. Salads that had names including ricotta, crab etc were mostly green s with no more than a single mouthful of the listed things. Tuna entrée was excellent.

Went here for brunch. The food was so delicious and the drinks were half price! They were easily able to accommodate my friend that has food allergies. I would definitely go back.

Our server was not interested in serving us at all; he actually looked bothered every time we would call him over. The food is nothing to brag about, so it did not justify the prices. If you can go somewhere else, do so.

I loved that they offered a turkey bacon option for their shrimp and grits! And slice options for their Peach brioche French Toast for those of us who didn’t want to order an entire second plate.

we had a great time here! i had the shrimp and grits- which were stellar! we shared the peach pancakes- which were scrumptious! they had a half off cocktail promotion too! made the prices good!

the waitstaff could have been a bit more attentive with checking for more drinks and water refills, but we had a great meal overall!

To start, our server Shane, was awesome. Very attentive and friendly. My niece and I shared our brunch meal. We had Eggs Benedict with Canadian Bacon and Cesare Salad, both were delicious and enough for both of us. We did start by having a Bloody Mary and a mimosa, also delicious.

A nice way to start our weekend. Highly recommend FARMiCiA.

At our table, we ordered the calamari and two salads to share as appetizers, and we were blown away by them. I was expecting solid farm-to-table ingredients and execution, and I was surprised and delighted by the flavor combinations, preparation, and innovation. For main courses, we ordered the duck, the mega-dose of vegetables and grains, the eggplant cannelloni, and a pair of salads (lentil salad and kale/beet). We all sampled each other's plates, and every last bite was delicious. We shared a crème brûlée, vegan lemon-ginger cake, and a cheesecake. They were all excellent.
Our family made reservations here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and planned to drive from our home in central PA. We ended up having to buy a new tire on the way, and the restaurant was very understanding about our moving the time of the reservation. It was a wonderful evening and the restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way!

Great service and bloody marys. Would definitely try again. One tip - Get there at 10 for brunch, it gets crowded fast.

A very enjoyable meal for my wife and me from start to finish. Drinks and all food courses were delicious. Service personnel were attentive and the meal was well paced. Very enjoyable. The restaurant's policy of giving diners the option to bring in their own wine with no up-charge or corkage fee is a prime example of their desire to do everything they can to make dining at FARMiCiA a comfortable, accommodating and pleasant experience. We were greeted with friendliness and seated promptly. Our water glasses appeared fairly quickly and our cocktails were served in reasonable time. The mango gazpacho was delicious on a hot summer night, with just the right amount of sweetness, savoriness, and cooling crunch. The Metropolitan Bakery bread is always perfect, especially with the herbed butter. Our meals (tuna and duck) had a lovely presentation and were well-portioned. The weakest part of my duck meal was the bacon hash, which was starchy and did not add much to the meal. Sauces were a bit skimpy also in both dishes. Service was less than stellar. All courses were served at a nice pace, but my dining partner's gazpacho was delivered without a spoon. We had to ask for one. My wine ordered with the meal did not appear until I was half way through the meal, and I had to ask a server to remind my waiter for it. It was delivered with a hasty apology. Other than those annoying snafus, our meal was delightful overall. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and though fairly full throughout most of the evening, the noise level was very tolerable.

What a pleasant experience. Nice casual relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed the eclectic decor that made me feel like I was in a speakeasy/rustic farmhouse with an talented artistic flair (No country kitchen schlock anywhere).

Brought my family of 4 to FARMiCiA for dinner. 1 Vegan. 1 Vegetarian.

Started with the house cocktails. 2 Cucumber Gimlets turned into 4 with no repercussions later. I still think about them. Excellent!
The choice of house made breads was absolutely amazing. Never had anything like it. We asked for seconds.
The best Hummus plate ever. I know. I know: Hummus is hummus, but we wanted to bring this Hummus home.
I had Pan Crisped St. Peter’s Fish Filet. Cooked perfectly with a nice outside sear without being over cooked. Superb!
Wife had Crab Cakes. These were the real deal - Crab. Excellent!

Service was perfect. Attentive without being intrusive. Extremely helpful and friendly with Vegan related questions.

We love the local farm to table scene and FARMiCiA was probably the best experience we've had to date.
