I have eaten lunch here before but never dinner. The food was fabulous and the
wait staff excellent. I wasn't expecting this quality of food and service from a
neighborhood surprise and was pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be back!
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner there.
Our server was really nice and food was good for the price.
Nice atmosphere inside and out. Very friendly staff. Food was very good. Decent portions. Drinks were pretty weak. Accommodated three guide dogs nicely. Fun place. Tyler our waiter was very fun and engaging.
Love this. It’s our go to place whenever we have visitors. The oxtail ravioli is the best. Tony takes great care of us.
Wonderful experience at Farmers Bottega, great service and delicious food.
It’s always a treat to come here for breakfast. Service is excellent. Coffee and tea cups are always kept full.Water is brought when we requested .The food came quickly and everything was piping hot.
Everyone was pleased with what they ordered. I especially liked the chilaquiles that came with black beans. The tomatillo sauce really made the dish. It was a large portion and I easily could have saved some to take home for another meal, but it was so delicious I ate it all. I wasn’t hungry again until dinner time. I can’t wait to go back and try something else.
Very accommodating for our group of 12.
We had a great time!! The food was delicious and our server was very nice. His recommendations for food and wine were great. The restaurant is cozy and the food was good. We’ll be back soon for sure!!
The staff and food were excellent..Sat outside on the patio..Loved the option to order breakfast during lunch...Many options on the menu and the wine selection was superb..
Outstanding farm to table dining experience in a cozy environment. The house infused jalapeño tequila was a great add to a passion fruit margarita! Vegetarian selections were excellent. Staff was attentive and friendly. If I lived in the San Diego area, this spot would be on my top go to places. Highly recommend!
Found this little gem on Yelp. What a great find! Outstanding hand made cocktails. Best margarita ever! Everything tasted delicious and fresh. We will be back to try other options.
The tacos were outstanding. I'd like to try the Sunday brunch also.
Food and service were both amazing. The bison tartare appetizer is amazing!
Fresh food, great service!!
Wanted to try somewhere different. Glad we did. The food was delicious!
Everything about Farmers Bottega is great except for the noise level. Could hardly talk - but it was a Friday night! Next time we'll sit on the patio which is really nice and small and surely quieter.
My husband and I were in San Diego for the weekend for business and had eaten here with friends last month. This time it was just the two of us and we enjoyed eating inside the restaurant. Everything was delicious!
Enjoyed it so much that we went again for brunch 2 days later. Thanks!
The appetizers were great, fried green tomatoes and artichoke toast. The burger, ordered medium arrived well done, and nothing to brag about. The halibut, however, deliciously prepared. Our waiter was attentive in the beginning of our experience, but disappeared after food was served and wine needed to be prepared.
What a great find right down the street! What a wonderful place for a family dinner. Highly recommend.
Birthday lunch for a friend, excellent food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
I had already been to Farmer’s Bottega for lunch but was much more impressed with their evening menu. Nice patio in the back of the restaurant. Good food choice with creative offers and craft cocktails. Recommend it for dinner.
Food was wonderful. We had apps only. Loved the artichokes!
We really enjoyed our dining experience. Our waiter Tony was amazingly attentive and nice.
Felt very special on my birthday! Thank you!
It took about 50 minutes for us to get our appetizer, for dinner we ordered salads but didn’t get them for over an hour (then the salad was missing some of the ingredients). During this whole time we did not get a single refill or an offer to freshen our drinks. I eventually walked to the bar to get a refill of water then the manager came by to advise the kitchen was backed up. The server never asked us how the meal was after it was delivered for us to even say anything. The appetizer (bison tartar) had too many capers to enjoy and the kale salad was just sad. I didn’t touch my salad yet the waiter and manager did nothing - POOR SERVICE!!! They should really train their staff to communicate with customers to ensure a positive experience however it was clear they just didn’t care.
I was so impressed with my first visit, I made a point of taking the family for my daughter's brithday to this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Everyone enjoyed their meal. And the host kindly helped us re-arrange the table so we can accommodate a baby's clammed seat. It was a wonderful experience.
The food was well prepared and tasty. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing with interesting decor .
Food was different and delightful! We had a variety of items, burger, ravioli, octopus, duck gnocchi, all very good.
This was our first visit. We loved the ambiance, the food was very good and our waiter so pleasant and efficient. We will definitely return!
Came here for a Birthday dinner with a group of 10 we all sat outside and had a lovely private dining experience. Food and service was great.
We were seated at 6:30 and could converse pleasantly until a little past 7, when the noise level reached a point that we had to shout to hear each other. We both left with a sore throat and definitely not relaxed! Food was well-prepared, delicious and beautifully presented, though a bit pricey considering serving sizes. Drinks very weak but delicious ( try the Pimms cup—with ginger kombucha—awesome!). Next time I’ll follow the lead of the few tables that were already seated when we arrived and dine early to avoid the unbearable din!
Food was good but too expensive for my taste!
Great atmosphere and delicious meals. The wait staff is friendly and professional. The wine list is outstanding. Overall, made for a wonderful evening.
Made a reservation on OpenTable for a birthday lunch with 6 friends. Upon arrival we checked in for our reservation. The hostess tells us they don’t take reservations for anytime other than dinner. This struck us as very weird - why even be able to make reservations on OpenTable then...what’s the point?! That needs to change. What if you make a reservation for a large party - you think you are secure - but, you’re really not, especially if the place is packed for lunch and you can’t get a table?! That could’ve ruined our whole birthday lunch!
Other than that - the restaurant is beautifully decorated...great atmosphere and ambiance. The menu was appealing and the food delicious! I have the baby kale salad with shrimp, which was amazing.
Street parking was hard to find, so make extra time for that. Or park in the parking structure attached to the restaurant - you’ll have to pay to park, but it’s a nominal fee.
We had the daily fish special, a grouper with risotto, which was fresh, local and perfectly cooked. Worth a repeat. It's a little cramped and noisy but that could be a plus if you like a lively atmosphere.
Like a lot of Hillcrest eateries the evening noise level is uncomfortably loud. Maybe that's what the target population likes. For us it was sad because the food we ate would merit a return visit.
Amazing food! Quaint location!
The food was great, although service could
Of been better. Although dinner was great it was loud.
Good food. Nice experience.
