I love the space and the menu is quite great, however multiple times the service is just dismal. I wish they would actually try and be helpful and attentive. Secondly, Food rarely comes out piping hot, just lukewarm

Love everything about this place. Great service, really great people that work there. Delicious and Different food choices and beautiful and fun atmosphere. They are so welcoming and friendly and it is a good place foe people watching. Also free and convenient parking.

Servers were great, but the manager needs work (and to brush up on what you can and can't legally say to people using a service animal). This place has a lot of potential - great atmosphere, good location, fun setup, etc. - but the food wasn't great.

We went there for brunch. I had the crab cake benedict, my partner the farmers breakfast. The crab cakes tasted like something I could get at the store and heat myself, and was a little dry. The egg was decent (pretty difficult to mess up a poached egg), but the whole dish was brought down by the mediocre hollandaise they used.

My partner's scrambled eggs were bland. They weren't terrible, but definitely not something you'd spend $12 to eat at a restaurant. As a native Texan who loves BBQ and appreciates the fine art of smoking meats, I never thought that the words "This bacon is too smokey" would ever leave my lips. But I guess there's a first time for everything. When you eat bacon, you expect to taste bacon. When we ate this bacon, we tasted smoke with hints of bacon.

The few redeeming qualities about the meal were the potatoes and the drinks. The potatoes were delicious. The orange juice tasted freshly squeezed and the mimosas were great.

Unfortunately, these things-along with the atmosphere-aren't enough to bring me back. There are too many great places in the San Diego area with great food, good service, AND a fun atmosphere that it doesn't make sense to go back.

My suggestion to the owners: invest in your managers and revisit your menu. There is so much that your restaurant is doing right, but the food needs to be better. You have a great atmosphere and before we were seated, my partner and I were shocked at how many empty tables you had at what should have been your busiest time that day (12:30 on a Sunday). But after tasting the food and seeing some things the manager was doing (giving servers way more tables than they could manage, for example), it was pretty clear what was keeping people away.

Awesome brunch spot to enjoy with the whole family including the kiddos, yet sufficiently trendy for adults to enjoy also. Big open grass areas for the kids to run around, easy for parents to keep your eye on them while drinking a mimosa.

Went for lunch before this and it was pretty good. Service a little off, but okay. Then took out of town friends for Sunday brunch, and it sucked. Got outside table which was nice. Service was terrible and menu is not very good. They have had a service problem twice, so no mas.

Very good food and the service was friendly and swift. Parking lot is available but spaces seemed limited and if you have large car (Pilot SUV) it'll be tight. Recommend carpooling if able.

It was 10 min before a waitress arrived. Took another 10 to get my coffee. Creamer came out a few minutes after that. Enjoyed our drinks for awhile and waitress had stopped by once to see if we were ready to order. She came back about 10 min later asking if we were ready (we weren't), so she gave us a heads up that you were expecting two large parties shortly, and to keep that in mind if we wanted to eat sooner, rather than later (which was nice). We ordered shortly thereafter, and did not receive our food for over 1/2 hr. We ordered chilaquiles and the Farmers Breakfast. Neither of our meals were hot, or even warm, but we were so hungry, and couldn't find our waitress anywhere, so we just ate them. When a gentleman delivered our food, I asked for more coffee, and he returned quickly with it. The waitress never stopped by the table to ask how everything was until we were done eating. It took forever to get a take home container, and then even longer for her to pick up our credit card.

It never appeared to get very busy, and there were many empty tables outside.

Very poor service. Other than being cold, the food was just o.k.

Visiting San Diego and found Farmer & The Sea Horse online. The atmosphere was nice. Outdoor seating, live music & beautiful weather. We had a margarita pizza, beet salad & a burger. Loved the beets! Burger needed seasoning. Was disappointed that when we ask for an ice tea they said, we don’t serve ice tea in the evenings. Really?? So, we ordered a water instead and they served it in a 4oz plastic cup. Wow. I’m pretty sure they could have found a dinner glass to serve the water in.

Fully realized it was a happy hour menu, although prices did not reflect it.
Waitress was less than enthusiastic will a “could care less” attitude.
Lousy experience ! Should have stayed at the hotel to eat.

Over-priced for mediocre food. Poor service (seating suggestions were bad). With reservation, we were seated at a tiny half-a-table when we saw other parties of 2 seated at larger table (with 4 chairs). Food was mediocre at best at high price. But, Latte was awesome, better than Starbucks.

The host started walking us to the table without telling us. When we did catch up to him he didn't even speak - just dropped our menus and walked away. I heard our server mention to another table that she was hungover. Classy. I ordered my eggs over medium and they came over DONE. The whole meal was just meh. The restaurant itself is very cute.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant several times and always had a good meal in a nice setting. This last time was not as good. The service was spotty and my burger was over cooked almost burned instead of a medium with pink in the center. The salad was just a handful of greens with no dressing . Really disappointing!

It closed at 7pm when we were given a 6pm reservation. This was not prudent. It made us pay and leave within an hour when we would have stayed for two hours. It’s fine if they close early but make that known as it is very unusual for such a place.

I just ordered the Brussel sprouts and beets and the sprouts were too big and under cooked and the beets were over cooked and hard???? I would try deep frying small sprouts and the beets needed more cheese and cooked properly. Hard to believe you can screw up beets but you did.

I was not happy that my request for outside seating was not granted without waiting an additional 20 minutes as I had made a reservation. Seated inside with all the windows open was chilly, uncomfortable, and a bit noisy for my taste. Outdoor seating is really the only way to go in this place. Service was very slow so not amenable to a business lunch break. Food was mediocre at best.

We really were pleased to find this hidden gem of a restaurant! It was last minute, and neither of us had ever heard of this place before. So we decided to give it a go and were glad we did. With its quirky, modern "American Gothic" decor, ample indoor/outdoor seating, and pleasantly hip but not overbearing background music, it is a perfect example of Southern California, hipster casual dining. I ordered the crabcake club sandwich as a lettuce wrap, and it was delicious. Even though there could have been more crab in the cake, it was well-seasoned with a nice crispy crust. My son enjoyed his fried chicken sandwich, and the fries were tasty. The service was a little slow getting started, but kept good pace once it did. Unfortunately, they do not serve dinner, but they do offer a Happy Hour and have live music. I am definitely going to return, I can't wait to see what my husband think of this place!!

Music on Sunday brunch is deafeningly loud making conversation impossible. Service, as always, is slow and inconsistent. But the views make up for it and the fact that it's so dog friendly is a bonus

Great location for a quick bite before the Theatre. Pizza’s were a bit dry, however I have been there before and they were great.
We sat inside and it was still cold—they need extra heaters on cool nights.

Ambiance was great but my fried chicken with jalapeno "hot pepper " hollandaise and sausage gravy was overpriced and not very good. The chicken was dry and they served it with hollandaise only ( no sausage gravy as stated on menu ). When I asked the server, she said that non-spicy hollandaise is how it was supposed to be served, no gravy and not much jalapeno because some diners might find it too spicy. Biscuits and hollandaise, really?
