Had the quesadilla and veggie posole combo for lunch. Yummy on both. The cheese in the quesadilla was traditional mexican cheese, NOT processed yellow cheese (which I love but not at a place like this).
Patio was lovely on a hot afternoon.
Service was great, as always.

Food took 40 minutes and came wrong and cold. The Managwr didn’t charge for the Briunch so that made it to where we would give it another chance giving the fact that the place is super cute.

Although we only live a couple of miles from Farmer and Seahorse, this was our first visit. It was outstanding!! The bloody mary's were perfect as was the smoked salmon that I had and the breakfast my wife ordered. Our server was Sam and she was so accommodating and attentive. In fact, I don't eat carbs and they switched out my toast for slice tomatoes - which was perfect. We were there mid-day on Sunday and there was also excellent live music featuring by "Caleb" - really made it an overall excellent experience. We'll be back!!

We selected Farmer & The Seahorse after seeing it as a good brunch place on the internet. The prices were very reasonable with a great selection of food. We sat on the patio and tried the mimosas with three different kinds of juice. So yummy that we had to order another bottle. Food was fantastic and there was even live music for Sunday brunch really a nice touch. I have already recommended this restaurant to several people and we will definitely be returning.

Food was excellent! I had the Shaved Asparagus Salad with chicken and my husband enjoyed the fish and chips. Fish batter was nice and crunchy. Definitely on our list to visit again. Waitress seemed distracted and we had to wave her down twice. Overall a great restaurant.

My friend and I stopped by for lunch the other day. She had her 2yo son with her and initially requested inside seating, hoping t would be easier to contain him. Since he was being a bit boisterous we then asked to change to an outside table (we dined Monday around noon). There looked to be plenty of seats outside - my original reservation was booked for outside seating- and we told our waitress who said we had to talk to the host about outdoor seating...we had been seated at that point with orders placed - not sure why we had to then wait to discuss with the hostess and not her? The hostess then told me there was no more outdoor tables but we could sit on the couches...that ended up being fine. Just felt like the service was pretty poor and not very accommodating or friendly. The food was good and the space lovely. For a new restaurant you would expect servers to be on their best behavior but I guess not.

Everything about this place was great! I highly recommend it for families but also for a date. The hours are limited so its likely only going to be an early dinner/drink or Sunday brunch-but such a fantastic place. Ahd a wonderful brunch. And not only is the venue really fun, the food was fantastic. Cant wait to get back.

The food was delicious, but the waitress did not seem to care much about servicing us. She just wanted to get an order in and be done with us. It was my Bday. She made a rather aloof comment about it. I would recommend the restaurant, but not her. Sorry!

Unfortunately took a long time for our server to take our order, even for drinks. The food on the sandwich menu was mixed in quality and taste - some good, others not so much (burger ok). Usually I really like this place - wonder open air and garden atmosphere

Nice outdoor space with live music during brunch. Crab cake benedicts were very good. Salmon on the citrus salad was fresh and perfectly grilled. Chai latte with coconut milk was excellent.

Beautiful and comfortable outdoor dining. We were there for Sunday brunch and they had live music. I loved the atmosphere so much I'm giving it 4 stars but the service and the food were not impressive. Blueberry pancakes were dry. Morrocan scramble didn't have much flavor, and the breakfast pizza was pretty basic. We had one vegetarian in our party and they didn't have a single vege dish. Really? The chef attempted a nice spinach eggs benedict. Looked lovely but muffin was soggy. Not sure what went wrong there. Maybe needed to toast the muffin. All the dishes except the pizza were served to us luke warm. I can only assume our plates were waiting for the pizza to be done. Pizza was piping hot. Waited 20 minutes for dessert even though the place had almost cleared out by then. Luckily we weren't in a hurry and really enjoyed the patio atmosphere watching all the kids and dogs.

Servers were great, but the manager needs work (and to brush up on what you can and can't legally say to people using a service animal). This place has a lot of potential - great atmosphere, good location, fun setup, etc. - but the food wasn't great.

We went there for brunch. I had the crab cake benedict, my partner the farmers breakfast. The crab cakes tasted like something I could get at the store and heat myself, and was a little dry. The egg was decent (pretty difficult to mess up a poached egg), but the whole dish was brought down by the mediocre hollandaise they used.

My partner's scrambled eggs were bland. They weren't terrible, but definitely not something you'd spend $12 to eat at a restaurant. As a native Texan who loves BBQ and appreciates the fine art of smoking meats, I never thought that the words "This bacon is too smokey" would ever leave my lips. But I guess there's a first time for everything. When you eat bacon, you expect to taste bacon. When we ate this bacon, we tasted smoke with hints of bacon.

The few redeeming qualities about the meal were the potatoes and the drinks. The potatoes were delicious. The orange juice tasted freshly squeezed and the mimosas were great.

Unfortunately, these things-along with the atmosphere-aren't enough to bring me back. There are too many great places in the San Diego area with great food, good service, AND a fun atmosphere that it doesn't make sense to go back.

My suggestion to the owners: invest in your managers and revisit your menu. There is so much that your restaurant is doing right, but the food needs to be better. You have a great atmosphere and before we were seated, my partner and I were shocked at how many empty tables you had at what should have been your busiest time that day (12:30 on a Sunday). But after tasting the food and seeing some things the manager was doing (giving servers way more tables than they could manage, for example), it was pretty clear what was keeping people away.

Awesome brunch spot to enjoy with the whole family including the kiddos, yet sufficiently trendy for adults to enjoy also. Big open grass areas for the kids to run around, easy for parents to keep your eye on them while drinking a mimosa.

It was 10 min before a waitress arrived. Took another 10 to get my coffee. Creamer came out a few minutes after that. Enjoyed our drinks for awhile and waitress had stopped by once to see if we were ready to order. She came back about 10 min later asking if we were ready (we weren't), so she gave us a heads up that you were expecting two large parties shortly, and to keep that in mind if we wanted to eat sooner, rather than later (which was nice). We ordered shortly thereafter, and did not receive our food for over 1/2 hr. We ordered chilaquiles and the Farmers Breakfast. Neither of our meals were hot, or even warm, but we were so hungry, and couldn't find our waitress anywhere, so we just ate them. When a gentleman delivered our food, I asked for more coffee, and he returned quickly with it. The waitress never stopped by the table to ask how everything was until we were done eating. It took forever to get a take home container, and then even longer for her to pick up our credit card.

It never appeared to get very busy, and there were many empty tables outside.

Very poor service. Other than being cold, the food was just o.k.

Visiting San Diego and found Farmer & The Sea Horse online. The atmosphere was nice. Outdoor seating, live music & beautiful weather. We had a margarita pizza, beet salad & a burger. Loved the beets! Burger needed seasoning. Was disappointed that when we ask for an ice tea they said, we don’t serve ice tea in the evenings. Really?? So, we ordered a water instead and they served it in a 4oz plastic cup. Wow. I’m pretty sure they could have found a dinner glass to serve the water in.
