I really loved the vibe of this place and the set up/decor but they messed up my order. I adjusted the chilaquiles because of allergies and they didn't get it right. They did remove that item from my bill which was great and a really nice gesture. I just think they need a little more training that's all. Otherwise a great space.
Long wait for a table even though we had a reservation.
We loved that place! So we decided to book a table 2 months in advance for outdoor sitting, as we had family visiting and we wanted to ensure it was special. At our arrival, they told us that we had to wait for 30 minutes to get outdoor sitting!! When we said no, they tried to assemble a table completely under the sun during San Diego heat wave, even seeing that there was a baby with us. After finally sitting inside, they forgot to bring one of the drinks and one of the orders was wrong. This place was nice, but we are definitely NOT going back...
Fun ambiance. Food was good. Service was good. I had the salmon toast. It was tasty but bread was hard! I will return!
Great service made this a wonderful experience. The staff went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed ourselves. And of course the food was delicious! It would be nice if they had Vegetarian protein options.
Even with a reservation the wait for the table was 15 minutes. That doesn't work well when you have a lunch break and need to get back to work. The waitress never returned to our table after we were served to ask if we needed anything else....e.g., drink refills or dessert. She didn't bring the cheque to the table, so we had to go to the front desk to ask to pay since we couldn't wait any longer. If you have no time limits, it's a nice place close to work (there are so few in the area) for a special lunch, but too pricey to make it a frequent lunch spot. Don't go without a reservation unless you're up for a long wait for a table.
The food is good and serving sizes are good--unless you order the salmon and then you get a tiny piece, smaller than a typical restaurant size serving.
Food was great, Service slow and things were delivered wrong.
We were there for Sunday brunch , seated out side and it was noisy with lots of little kids. Not relaxing as I had hoped.
Very slow service. Brought wrong drink order (after a long wait).. and one of our party members got his drink after the meal arrived. It also seemed like they were waiting to get some of our items out at the same time as our drinks for some video ..they sacrificed good service for some marketing material. Got charged for the wrong drink... Overall, disappointed. Don't think I'll be going back. Not impressed (specially for #2 brunch place on eater... Not even my top #15 in SD)
Just a really good place to eat and hang. Good bar. Good menu. Good games. Comfortable place. Try the brunch once and you will come back.
This place sucked in every aspect.
This is a great place to come relax with a drink and some good munchies after work! Let the traffic die down and enjoy some peace at the end of the day!
Awesome ahi salad!
Made a reservation for 6 for a business networking dinner. For some reason they only serve you if you’re sitting outside, and we sat inside in order to be further from the band so we could talk. I’ve been for lunch and the service was fine inside and out. So I spent about half the evening waiting in line or just standing at the bar to order more drinks or food. It was awful, the staff seemed so unhurried even when the line was crazy long. And no one ever brought flatware, took away empty plates, etc.
I work in the Torrey Pines area and so Farmer and Seahorse is a convenient place for a business lunch. Since my wife had an appointment in the area we decided that she would pick me up from work and we would have lunch prior to her appointment. We were both very pleased by the ambience of Farmer and Seahorse plus the food was excellent. I have to confess that while I've been there several times, I've only ordered one thing, the crab cake sandwich, which is a real winner. Our server Kathryn was excellent as well as the hostess. We asked for a particular table outside, and no problem, it was ours. All in all, a terrific experience!
Had the quesadilla and veggie posole combo for lunch. Yummy on both. The cheese in the quesadilla was traditional mexican cheese, NOT processed yellow cheese (which I love but not at a place like this).
Patio was lovely on a hot afternoon.
Service was great, as always.
Nice open space, friendly attentive service, good food.
I really want to love this restaurant, I'm just really having a hard time getting over the indifference of the staff, especially when checking in.
We were bringing three friends to introduce them to Farmer and Dennis the manager and Logan our waitperson were wonderful. A truly great experience once again.
Food took 40 minutes and came wrong and cold. The Managwr didn’t charge for the Briunch so that made it to where we would give it another chance giving the fact that the place is super cute.
Although we only live a couple of miles from Farmer and Seahorse, this was our first visit. It was outstanding!! The bloody mary's were perfect as was the smoked salmon that I had and the breakfast my wife ordered. Our server was Sam and she was so accommodating and attentive. In fact, I don't eat carbs and they switched out my toast for slice tomatoes - which was perfect. We were there mid-day on Sunday and there was also excellent live music featuring by "Caleb" - really made it an overall excellent experience. We'll be back!!
Unfortunately the Sunday brunch menus was changed omitting some of the more interesting selections on the previous menus.
We were seated in a dark corner which didn’t let us soak up the ambience of the restaurant. Next time I will ask to be in a brighter location
They close at 7 and make sure you know that.
We selected Farmer & The Seahorse after seeing it as a good brunch place on the internet. The prices were very reasonable with a great selection of food. We sat on the patio and tried the mimosas with three different kinds of juice. So yummy that we had to order another bottle. Food was fantastic and there was even live music for Sunday brunch really a nice touch. I have already recommended this restaurant to several people and we will definitely be returning.
Excellent venue for family and friends to get together. The food was delicious and the ambiance was very inviting. So glad we finally checked out this place!
Great experience friendly service , nice music
Food was excellent! I had the Shaved Asparagus Salad with chicken and my husband enjoyed the fish and chips. Fish batter was nice and crunchy. Definitely on our list to visit again. Waitress seemed distracted and we had to wave her down twice. Overall a great restaurant.
My friend and I stopped by for lunch the other day. She had her 2yo son with her and initially requested inside seating, hoping t would be easier to contain him. Since he was being a bit boisterous we then asked to change to an outside table (we dined Monday around noon). There looked to be plenty of seats outside - my original reservation was booked for outside seating- and we told our waitress who said we had to talk to the host about outdoor seating...we had been seated at that point with orders placed - not sure why we had to then wait to discuss with the hostess and not her? The hostess then told me there was no more outdoor tables but we could sit on the couches...that ended up being fine. Just felt like the service was pretty poor and not very accommodating or friendly. The food was good and the space lovely. For a new restaurant you would expect servers to be on their best behavior but I guess not.
Everything about this place was great! I highly recommend it for families but also for a date. The hours are limited so its likely only going to be an early dinner/drink or Sunday brunch-but such a fantastic place. Ahd a wonderful brunch. And not only is the venue really fun, the food was fantastic. Cant wait to get back.
Amazing brunch spot for groups and families. Super kids friendly.
this place was nothing special for Brunch. nothing on the menu was interesting or special and the service left much to be desired.
The food was delicious, but the waitress did not seem to care much about servicing us. She just wanted to get an order in and be done with us. It was my Bday. She made a rather aloof comment about it. I would recommend the restaurant, but not her. Sorry!
Unfortunately took a long time for our server to take our order, even for drinks. The food on the sandwich menu was mixed in quality and taste - some good, others not so much (burger ok). Usually I really like this place - wonder open air and garden atmosphere
I've been to F&SH several times. It's consistently good, but not a lot of dairy-free options.
Good location, lots of outdoor seating, great food.
Great ambiance, wonderful food, and great setting for an outdoor business lunch.
The food is great and the ambiance lovely but the service was very very slow from ordering drinks to ordering food - getting served - - slow checking on refills - slow to clear the dishes etc
Nice outdoor space with live music during brunch. Crab cake benedicts were very good. Salmon on the citrus salad was fresh and perfectly grilled. Chai latte with coconut milk was excellent.
Beautiful and comfortable outdoor dining. We were there for Sunday brunch and they had live music. I loved the atmosphere so much I'm giving it 4 stars but the service and the food were not impressive. Blueberry pancakes were dry. Morrocan scramble didn't have much flavor, and the breakfast pizza was pretty basic. We had one vegetarian in our party and they didn't have a single vege dish. Really? The chef attempted a nice spinach eggs benedict. Looked lovely but muffin was soggy. Not sure what went wrong there. Maybe needed to toast the muffin. All the dishes except the pizza were served to us luke warm. I can only assume our plates were waiting for the pizza to be done. Pizza was piping hot. Waited 20 minutes for dessert even though the place had almost cleared out by then. Luckily we weren't in a hurry and really enjoyed the patio atmosphere watching all the kids and dogs.
We went for Sunday brunch. Hidden gem! Wonderful setting, kid friendly and great live music.
