FARMbloomington Ratings and Reviews
The food is plentiful and delicious and service was good. My husband had the prime rib and it was amazing! Other items we tried were mushrooms and shrimp. We always enjoy our meal when dining at Farm! Only downside is noisy surroundings making it difficult to have a conversation. There is nothing to muffle the sound of other diners and the loud music playing .
I have been to this restaurant many times, but a year ago and last week the food has not been up to par. Not sure what has happened in the Kitchen but they need to straighten it out real fast. Pork chop was over cooked, purple or black potatoes were not worth eating. Salmon was good but brought out too cool.
Wine selection could use some work.
Experienced Farm for the 1st time. We had a 5pm reservation and were seated promptly. After over 10 minutes waiting for anyone to approach our table I stopped the manager who we noticed passing by and made him aware of this. Now, I don't usually mind waiting five minutes or so for someone to come to our table but we couldn't even make eye contact with anyone and various other parties arriving after us were be served. It was just odd and perhaps we ended up at a table with no one assigned to it. Things happen! The manager did remedy this and actually moved us to another table (which by the way ended up by the front window and if it is cold outside it permeates in to this area as well). Our server was attentive and courteous. Our dinner was prepared well but I felt the bone-in pork chop was perhaps a little tough. Everything else was fine. We enjoyed the ambiance and vibe of this place and wouldn't mind giving it another try on our next visit to Bloomington as there appear to be a lot of positives from other diners.
Delicious "Seafood Saturday" special of scallops. Would love to go back if I am in the area. It did take about 45 mins to get our meal, but we were prepared to have a longer meal while at FARMbloomington. The actual space is very cool, lots of quirky decor that makes it fun. Cocktails are a delicious plus!
We had brunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was very busy so reservations are recommended. I had the seasonal skillet, which was delicious. My husband had the Hoosier potane and he said it was awesome. The service was prompt and friendly and the coffee refills were plentiful.
The only issue my party and I had was with the overall service: 1. there was a bit of disorganization - the hostess gave us the wrong dinner menu initially and we started off with one waitress and then were switched to a different waitress, 2. we sat for a good 5 minutes before we were greeted by anyone amd we were a 5:00 reservation and it was not busy at the time, 3. my boyfriend and I's food came out first and my mother had to sit there and wait a good 5-10 minutes for her pork dish while we started our meal so it wouldn't get cold. When my mother finally got to cut into her pork it was VERY pink and uncooked in the center so it had to be sent back and it was another 10-15 minutes before it came back out. Once they got it right, the flavors of her meal were delicious and she was content with it. I will say it would have been nice for the waitress to have notified her manger of this and to be compensated somehow for the inconvenience. But despite the issues we had, all of our food tasted great and I would consider giving this place one more try.
Generally was quite good. Was surprised that the appetizers came out with the dinners instead of before (the server should have asked us, we actually wanted them first, the table was really crowded with plates when everything came out). Some of the dishes are quite unusual, but that is part of the appeal of this place.
This is our goto place in Bloomington its always fresh , service is always good and the food is amazing.. have tried other places but this one is definitely the best overall..
its a nice spacious resturants , never a long wait , never bad service, great drinks , great food and yummy deserts.
Menu is a little tough if you have a picky eater, or younger child .. they shld add chicken tenders, or a burger..
was somewhat disappointed in this restaurant. the food was decent but not overwhelming. our waitress was super pleasant but the service was slow. The place was busy but not crazy busy that it would take that long to get 2 sandwiches and an omlette
and be sure to ask what the market prices are unless you are fine with paying 20.00 for a burger
The service seems to have dropped a bit since my last visit. The biscuits came out warm but were cooling off before we received the jelly and marmalade. The server was not attentive, and I had to ask for a coffee refill. The bacon was either overcooked or undercooked. We were a party of four and half of us loved our meal and half were disappointed.
We won a $50 gift certificate to the Farm from a church fund raiser. Asked the server if she could double check the amount on the certificate before we ordered; when she found out there were zero dollars on it, the quality of her already not great service (she seemed like she had some place else to be) dropped precipitously. It appears as though the reason there was no money on the account is because when purchased by the church, staff at the Farm forgot to load it. Not sure what will happen next; if it will be fixed.
Not really worth it; go to Uptown Cafe instead. Bummer man. I really want to like this place.
We stopped into Farm for brunch following a visit to the Bloomington Farmers market. Using Open Table reservations, we were promptly seated. While service was a little slow, food choices were plentiful and creative. The eggs, sausage gravy, cheese curds and fries had a few too many fried, but was tasty.
Great place for brunch and creative dishes.
Our compliments to Chef Orr.
We were in town for an Indiana University football game and wanted a good breakfast the following day. After reading the glowing reviews for FARMBloomington, we booked a late morning breakfast. And we were thrilled with our choice! The food was delicious and ample. Don't miss the homemade biscuits and cheddar sausage. Outstanding. If we are ever in the area again, this will be top of our list.
