I’ve been trying to get to FARMbloomington for dinner a few times over the past year. It was good. The service was very good. Perhaps we will try it again, but now I don’t feel like it’s a must.

You know, this is the 3rd time I have made reservations for this place. All 3 times I have had confirmed reservations. The 1st t8me, it was for m6 wife and some friends. They showed up and the restaurant did no5 recall the reservation and it became a big hassle. The 2nd time, they called about 2 days before and cancelled it for me due to them having oversold (this was on 2017). And now, my wife and I made reservations. The day of the dinner, they call and tell me that they are sorry, but they need to cancel. This cannot be happening.

To their credit, the first time they called and left a voicemail. They called back again and asked if i5 was alright. I said that I did not know what choice I had and that it was not alright. I explained to the woman that called why I was upset. She said “oh well”. I could not believe it. Well, this is baseball season and this is FarmBloomington’s third strike. I am walking away from the plate because the inning is over.

FarmBloomington is wonderful! Food is creative and delicious. Service was good even on a very busy Saturday. Management is attentive and cares about customer experience. This is a must-visit establishment when you’re in the Bloomington area!

Spring break - ate out five nights in a row while doing college visits.

Food was just OK - spotty at best. Service was not great. Cocktails were excellent. Too bad, was looking forward to a nice evening.

Mighty fine coffee.
Friendly staff, helpful recommendations.
Firm, tasty bisquits that hold up well to preserves. Rhubarb strawberry was by far the best. Peach-lavendar very faint flavor. Apple butter had more of an Indian spice profile.
Omelet I choose had fresh asparagus, tarragon, fresh peas and brie. Egg was a little rubbery but tasted fine. Accompanied by red potatoes, onions and bell pepper. Maybe I should have tried the quiche.
Husband had the poutine; french fries, white gravy, sausage bits and cheese curds. Very large serving, he couldn't finish. Loved the flavor, little heavy on cheese.
Took a pecan sticky bun to go. Should have passed on this item, 8.00 dollars, large and impressive but didn't deliver on flavor or texture. Tasted more like plain, dry overbaked bread than a sweet roll dough. The roll was covered with a thick gooey orange colored caramel that sort of tasted like whiskey, not a buttery caramel. A sprinkling of pecans topped of the roll.
Pretty to look at but meh, sorry.
Overall still a five for other items.
Take home a jar of strawberry rhubarb preserves.

I think my food must have been sitting for awhile, as it was very lukewarm by the time I got it. My boyfriend's food was nice and hot. I ordered a drink, and the bartender must have forgotten, as I got the drink near the end of my meal.

As always, a meh experience. Menu never changes, food is boring and uninspiring. Went for their garlic parm fries and biscuits and the biscuits, while massive, were heavy and overworked. They also ran out of their strawberry-rhubarb jam, which is insane. They used to be so, so ethereal

I take my daughter and her friends to FarmBloomington whenever I am in town. It’s always such a special treat. Whether for dinner, breakfast or brunch, the food is so delicious and creative and the service is friendly and prompt. We love FarmBoomington - definitely our favorite restaurant among some wonderful Bloomington restaurants!

UPDATE: the manager actually reached out to us about our previous experience that I wrote about. We ended up going to the restaurant for a second chance, and we’re glad we did. We ordered the fries everyone talks about and they were delicious (huge serving too). We also got the pizzas, which were great! Even though it’s not a pizza place, we agreed that the pizzas were the best pizza in Bloomington BY FAR. So tasty!

We had a reservation for valentine’s day and when we got there they told us they were closed until 5 and didn’t have our 4 PM reservation. I showed them my reservation number and the app and they didn’t care or have anything to do about it and told us they didn’t have any openings for later on. When we checked open table, they did have listed openings for later on, but we avoided since they failed the first time and clearly didn’t have their stuff together. Annoying.

Visiting campus with 3 prospective students and parents in tow. Party of 7.

Staff was very accommodating and welcoming. A very warm and friendly experience.

The menu was fun and diverse, something for everyone. Food quality was fantastic... Best meal of our trip to Bloomington.

Strong recommend. We will be back.

wonderful spot close to campus. the brunch was creative and very tasty. The chef made a point to go around several time and talk to each table. Nice touch for a casual brunch location. Looking forward to going back!

Enjoyed a date night at The Farm on Saturday night. Menu had changed from the last time we dined here. It is a creative menu with a mix of options. I'm vegetarian and have found a lot of choices both times we've dined at The Farm. Lighting could be a little more dim (if you are coming here on a date night night). Service was good but seemed to get better after we ordered an $80 bottle of wine. The wine list is good but it is expensive! Not a lot of mid-priced bottles. Menu creativity will keep us coming back. A good experience.

Table for 6 up front is too crowded, too noisy, and the water kept trying to take our dishes before we were done regardless of what we had to say. The food, which is usually very good, was pretty meh.

We’ve been going for almost as long as they have been open, and will continue to go. The food is fantastic, and Chef Daniel Orr knows how to make a meal memorable. If you are going for the first time, try going for an early dinner on Wednesday for the fried chicken.
