Neither the service or food was good for the money
Overall the experience was good. The tent kept us warm. The appetizer was really good. The entrees could of use more seasoning or flavor on the fish and vegetables. Would come back again.
They really had a beautiful outdoor covered set up. Food was outstanding as was the service. Highly recommend!
Valentine’s
The outdoor experience was excellent, very comfortable with the perfect amount of heaters, the food was delicious and the service was amazing. I would absolutely come back!
Unbelievably wonderful experience. Gourmet food, superior to anything I have ever tasted. Impeccable service in a (Covid required) tent that was decorated to be elegant and romantic. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We visited just this past weekend for brunch. The food was tasty (lobster roll, pozole, duck confit hash, chicken & waffles, beignets) and the price is your standard Bay Area price. However, the service was really subpar. We repeatedly had to ask for things but never got them - we asked for both flat & sparkling water for the table, but server only brought flat, we had to flag down 3 people before someone took our order, asked for spoons for the pozole (soup!) twice but never got them, had to ask for clean plates for desserts -the list goes on. Our server never checked in on us to see if we needed anything - majority of the time, we were flagging down the busboys or other servers for help, and even got a "I'm not your server, can't help you".
I hope the restaurant management monitors/reads reviews and understand that they need to do better, as we really do want to support local businesses and the employees they hire during these difficult times.
Had brunch here on a Sunday at 11 in the outside canopy. It’s really nice out there, with tall lamps, green plant walls, white tablecloths, and the clear canopy. It’s simple but elegant, and not stuffy. Food is served family style with a long list of items to choose from. You choose 4 to share and they portion them out for everyone. I’m pescatarian and have Celiac disease, and they were able to make my Benedict without ham and with gluten free bread. Everything was really good, but the shrimp and grits was our favorite (again, no ham.) We also all got a round of blood orange 🍊 mimosas which were fresh and lovely.
The one issue I had was that the table we had was right in the direct sunlight and at that hour it was directly in my face. Since the canopy is clear, there was no way to avoid it. I think I got a slight sunburn! I kept switching seats between 2 in our 4 seat table. Maybe this could be resolved with small umbrellas? It was distracting and I was sweating, and it was only 65 degrees that day so as the weather gets warmer, I think it’ll only get more uncomfortable for diners.
That said, I’d love to come back for dinner. There are clear lights strung throughout that I imagine must look very pretty.
We were running late for our reservation, so I called to let the restaurant know. However, there was no record of me having a reservation. I told him I can provide my confirmation number from OpenTable but they said it wasn’t necessary. So I made a new reservation.
The food was great, the service was OK. Our server forgot some things and made a mistake on our order however these small things don’t affect me that much. We waited a long time for our food. The worst part of my experience was finding glass in the vinaigrette sauce for our oysters. And although the restaurant comped the oysters, for the value and quality of this restaurant, I expected a little bit more from them.
The food was amazing and our server was fantastic.
Great food and service even during a global pandemic. Great job Farm!
Lovely all around. We’re so lucky to have access to places like the Farm which allow a bit of respite & normalcy during these troubling times. The Food, ambiance & service are also always exceptional. Well Done.
FARM is truly a spectacular place, and they made our night so very special. From the moment we walked in, we felt taken care of. The outdoor tent was beautifully decorated and we honestly didn't feel like it was a concession to COVID restrictions - it felt like it was a faithful extension of their dining room!
The service was spot-on and warm, the food was inventive and fun and the cocktails? So good I had one for dessert!
With another shutdown looming, we're so glad we chose this place as our 'last supper' for a while, and can't wait to return.
Great food and ambiance! The service was lacking. I had to ask for water and coffee too many times. Nobody checked on us. It was quite pathetic service. However the Food is worth it!!!!
Brunch in a tent. Food was great. Check in was awkward. The must do items for brunch: Lobster roll, pork belly, chicken and waffles, duck confit. The beignets are excellent! Would not recommend the avocado toast. Corkage fee is $35. Pretty pricey for four small portions per person.
Simply EXCELLENT!!! Can’t wait to come back!
Great food and ambiance but slow service
I understand that the restaurant is trying to manage during Covid but this was a pretty bad experience. First the high note, our particular server was pretty good and I was happy to see that they noticed that I did not barely touch my food. Also, the Tent and cool heaters and lighting where REALLY WELL DONE, great job to the designer! Some areas that were not so good;
1. They make you pay for bread (wasn't expensive but I thought strange) which was advertised as "Olive, Rosemary bread" what came out was not great and not Olive, Rosemary bread.
2. We started with the basic Farm Salad, which was the highlight of the food. However, what I find really annoying, especially in a restaurant of this level, is that any time I paused eating and put down my fork a busser/runner rushed over and try to take away my plate and the dish, interrupting our conversation and we were just taking our time. This is not good service, not sure if they were having a shortage on dishes or trying to rush us through our meal?
3. The Jidori Chicken dish was poorly cooked and poorly seasoned, the main part , the breast, was chewy and very bland, the sausage portion was ok. I just couldn't eat it, didn't complain and let them take the full dish away (which didn't take long, as soon as I put my fork down someone rushed over to take the full plate.
4. The potato side was presented well but was also inedible, it tasted like rancid oil, REALLY bad.
5. Our Japanese Blossom cocktails were also REALLY bad, smelled like a wet dog and were bitter and undrinkable. I will normally just choke down a cocktail that I don't like and move on to another drink, and I can pretty much chock down pure kerosene, but whoever came up with this drink failed (or maybe it was a failure of execution, I don't know).
Again, I appreciate that our Server noticed that I didn't eat my Chicken and pushed for my feedback and comped that dish, we also didn't touch the potatoes and they didn't say anything about that.
The food was DELICIOUS!! From our starter to dessert we were pleasantly surprised.
Highly recommend the FARM.
Excellent food, artfully prepared. Efficiently served by Solage (sp?).
Birthday lunch.
Birthday dinner outside under the tent, it was a bit chilly but the food and service were on point.
Unique, tasty dishes artfully presented. Chef is young in years but his cuisine is that of one with many more years of experience. Staff and service was top notch. Made the best of the COVID outdoor/distancing regulations. Highly recommend.
We love Farm but this last visit there was not up to par. We called in to see how cold it would be with the outdoor seating and the hostess assured us it gets really "toasty" in the tent with heaters but when we arrived there, it was freezing! Our little kids were so cold we had to pack it up and go sit in the car. Service was extremely slow...our waiter failed to check in with us reguarly. I'm so sad to write this review because we do truly love this restaurant but this last time it was not good. Sadly, we most likely will not be back.
The staff made every effort to make sure we were warm enough. We arrived for an early seating and luckily was able to benefit from 2 blankets (though apparently they were the 2 last blankets...?).
The food selection was very good. We really enjoyed both the scallop starter and steak tartare very much as well as the wild mushroom ravioli. The main courses selected were the swordfish and the sole, both slightly over cooked but very tasty.
The sommelier was extremely well informed and suggested the perfect wine to pair with our meal.
The carrot cake desert was a big disappointment. Visually disturbing (looked like a plastic phallic hot dog with a tuft of dill weed). I think that the presentation was interesting - a smudge of caramel, garnishes and a dollop of ice cream but the actual carrot cake beyond the thick sugar shell tasted like raw carrot cake batter. Sometimes when chefs try too hard, it just doesn't work.
We would return though as most of this dining experience was worth it!
40th birthday
It was probably because of the COVID situation, but we were absolutely freezing and uncomfortable the entire meal. They definitely need more heaters. The service was very slow it was difficult for me to catch a waiter to help me. We are accustom to fine cuisine and all four of us did not like our entrée's and my cocktail tasted like cleaning products. We, unfortunately, will not be back.
Birthday celebration. Great experience under the tent in the back of the main building.
Every single dish was outstanding!! I highly recommend this restaurant. Do not miss out!
Great brunch options and a spicy bloody mary is all you need to know. It doesn't hurt that we can pop over to Domaine Carneros for some bubbly afterward either.
Great food in a beautiful setting, with very good service.
Great brunch.
We loved our brunch! Outdoor seating on the patio was delightful and socially distanced from other tables. The menu selection was amazing and I loved how everyone got their own little taste plate of every order. The poached eggs from each dish were cooked perfectly! We were so stuffed at the end of the meal. Cannot wait to go back!
The food was a miss for us. The chicken was bland and the fish was dry. We will not be returning.
As always, FARM didn't disappoint! We were there celebrating one of our group's 50th birthday. The swordfish was the best my wife has ever had. My sole was solid but the greens were WAY too hot. I am not sure what happened there. Overall, still our favorite place to eat in the Napa area.
Elegant space accompanied by great tasting food. Our server was very knowledgable and attentive.
Excellent service. Memorable food. Dishes perfectly executed. Impressive dessert menu, also tasted delicious and exquisite! Always all professionals at Farm, or TCI as a whole! Amazing front of the house and extraordinary cooks! The bar is a world of its own as well. Cocktails are delicious and worth the fun! Never a disappointment at Farm! You must really do a full course meal here, it’s a beautiful journey!
Delicious food, amazing atmosphere, and exceptional service. I had the pâté, risotto, and candy bar to finish. All better than the next!
This was my 3rd time dining at The Farm and I'm happy to says we're batting 3 for 3 now! Even amid all of the different covid protocols around it was like dining out before covid just with masks on the wait staff. Can't wait to go back
Amazing, glad I was able to celebrate my engagement at such a pretty place. Service was excellent. Thank you so much
