Guest chef night was super fun and the business model is really admirable.
Fare Start is a great spot for lunch with friends. The food is good, and the menu creative. We shared 2 desserts among 4 friends and if we had to go it again, we would have ordered another!
Brought tears of joy, graduation ceremony did. We were looking for dinner. The reason for Fresh Start was the inspiration. Yes the food and ambiance was perfect too.
Had an amazing experience, and looking forward to coming back soon! I came for a business meeting, in which my colleague and I both eat low-carb. We were both had plenty of choices! The service was fantastic, and the food was incredible. I got something off their seasonable menu, and it was 10/10! Looking forward to next time :)
Fare Start provides a diverse menu at competitive prices in a tech hub of Seattle. With carpeted flooring, the acoustics are good for conversations. You can enjoy good food while doing good by contributing to the training program. This is a wonderful resource!
What I get from Fare Start is heart. The people working here are making their way into the workforce after a rough start in life or a major setback. Give big tips!
This is my third visit to Fare Start for a business meal, and the quality of the food and service have remained high. I appreciate the work the Fare Start program is doing and am happy to support this restaurant.
We made reservations the night Edouardo Jordan was visiting. (How could you possibly go wrong?!) Impressive!
Equally impressive is the commitment to the mission, the increasing scope of programs and overall effectiveness in delivering skills that allow at-risk populations to participate in the local economy. A truly satisfying meal!
had a good lunch meetup at this place... 20% gratuity is always added to the final bill . FYI
It was a lovely evening. We enjoyed the graduation and meeting the chef. The food was delicious.
I am a repeat customer of their Guest Chef Night event. Well-curated meals taste as good as it was presented to me by very friendly volunteers! Can't wait to go back!
A birthday celebration was planned at FareStart for Thurs. evening - the 22nd. We were very disappointed in the food, and the 3 men at our table went away still hungry. I would not go anywhere near that chef's restaurant. It was a LOT of money for a small amount of unappetizing food. I'm sorry that we planned for the event there. and sorry that FareStart would go for this. Some day I may try it again for lunch, but I'll think about it for awhile.
Superb every time I've had a meal at FareStart. One of the best restaurants in the area for lunch.
Excellent food & great service. Courteous staff, nice varied choice from menu. It was kinda noisy though.
I enjoy the awesome service and great food at this place. It's close to my office and the prices are very reasonable, so it's a perfect spot for a business lunch. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The hamburger with swiss cheese was delicious and the caesar salad was crisp and tasty. The serving size was about right.
This is one of my favorite places. It's well run, immaculate, friendly staff and wonderful food. The mission is exceptional and I support the guest chef nights.
Wonderful 3 course dinner! Was a privilege to be present for the graduation ceremony.
Enjoyed the upbeat, friendly ambience. The meal was tasty, well-presented. Impressive to hear that there is a wait list to serve as a volunteer. Speaks volumes.
Everybody in the Seattle area should try Farestart. It's a wonderful dinner for an awesome cause. A pride for Seattle.
As always, FareStart is a community gem. Helping people who want a second chance is a gift to our community and allowing those who want to make a difference succeed. The food is terrific and the volunteers are wonderful people helping to make FareStart the best it can be.
I really admire the concept of Farestart. The food and the service were both good, and the "vibe" of the restaurant was great! I had a good feeling when I left there, seeing such a noble idea working so well. I will be returning again!
We came for guest chef night with Ciudad and it was fabulous! FareStart is such a fun restaurant as you get to help a great organization while eating delicious food from local chefs.
Wonderful place to eat! I wanted to try everything on the menu. Highly recommend.
The food is amazing. The atmosphere is just right - casually elegant, yet comfortable. The wait staff is serious about customer service. The fact that the restaurant is doing the good work of providing job training is a feel-good bonus feature. Farestart is the best!
Guest Chef Night with Jerry Traunfeld was a wonderful meal. RED BRAISED BEEF CHEEK CONGEE with Cilantro, Peanut and Pickled Daikon had very tender beef, complex flavors with enough heat from the chilly oil. YOGURT BRAISED CHICKEN with Fried Onion, Raisins and Masala Yams had tender chicken that falls off the bone!
Excellent meal and fun and inspirational opportunity to see staff graduate!
As supporters of FareStart, we are lucky to get complimentary dinners for 2 at a guest chef night. We always enjoy the positive vibe of the volunteers, other diners, staff, and the graduating students. FareStart does a great job making you feel like part of the change they are making in people's lives while you enjoy a delicious meal prepared by a renowned chef.
We had lunch salads that were so tasty. The Creme Brulee was delicious for dessert. Everyone was very friendly.
Enjoyed both the food and service. This is a great program well worth supporting. We came for a friends birthday lunch and were all impressed. The cobb salad was nicely dressed and topped with a warm grilled chicken breast. All of the dishes featured fresh ingredients with an interesting twist. Very creative.
What a wonderful experience! Had not been to Fare Start for years (since they moved to this location) and I really love the concept. I appreciated the varied menu since one in our group was vegetarian; it was nice to have several options. Everything was exceptionally good. The service top notch and the overall value is almost impossible to believe. Strongly recommend!!
I brought my office crew here for the first time to see what the experience would be like and we were all blown away by the great menu, attentive service and trendy feel of the atmosphere. 3 out of 4 of us are vegetarian. We all had something different and we all thought the choices were difficult! Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious and it is a great place to splurge. We all decided we will start to make this a monthly lunch spot!
I had the vegetarian Reuben with tomato-basil soup, and my colleague had a dish of polenta with over-easy eggs. We both had mint tea to drink since the weather was super cold. The ambiance in Fare Start, on the other hand, was warm and welcoming. Our server was efficient and nice, but could have been friendlier. The ordering and paying processes were simple and accurate. I enjoyed my meal and will be back.
I always enjoying lunching at FareStart, both for the delicious food and for its mission of training the homeless and under-employed for careers in the food service industry. I like to go early for lunch (11 AM) because by noon the place is packed and very noisy.
Nest to the door left me chilled. Otherwise the ambience was fine. Noise level a bit loud.
A great cause, and the food is amazing. I have been twice for the Guest Chef Night- put this on your calander.
We had a nice lunch (Party of 6) and while the service and food were all very nice, being seated right next to the busy pantry did not make for a good ambiance.
We enjoyed the friendly staff and will come back to try your dinner service.
FareStart is a wonderful experience for a great cause! Delicious food, fantastic value, and you can leave without feeling guilty about eating dessert :)
This was the first opportunity for us to dine at FareStart; we will return. FareStart is taking the lead in providing education that targets a specific industry where individuals interested in becoming a chef have the opportunity without the high cost of tuition and added expenses. In addition, companies giving back to the community by serving the guests is another great way for organizations to come together and support a wonderful concept. The food was terrific, the servers pleasant, and the experience was positive; there is no place that someone could have a five star meal for under $50; we applaud FareStart, the guest chefs that take the time to educate and inspire, and everyone that supports this community gem.
Absolutely amazing experience. Love the concept and what they are doing for the community.
Farestart has, for years, been the lunch place I love to take friends! I especially love it when I'm the first to introduce them to the most wonderful spot in Seattle...
