Held at the FareStart Restaurant, Guest Chef Night is a weekly highlight for the FareStart community. For FareStart students, it is a unique opportunity to work with Seattle's premier chefs. Every Thursday night, a different local chef works with students to prepare a delicious three-course meal. Guest Chef Night is $29.95 per person. For a calendar of upcoming chefs, please visit www.farestart.org.
There are also several area lots, garages, and accessible street parking available during the day.
I really enjoy supporting the mission behind FareStart and invited a friend to meet there for lunch. While most of the lunch was good. The caprese salad was very salty. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience.
Good meal, great service. Thx for what you do. That’s it.
Walked by one day and had heard about it so I went in - it smelled like heaven. I told my husband about it so we tried it - we like to eat early - hence the no people in picture. We shared crispy pork burger and Ceasear salad. The burger had two generous slices of pork so I had one slice with salad, my husband had the burger with the other slice of pork with some salad. I had to salt my pork and I was happy with the meal. After we left my husband told me his bread on burger was dry. They did not tell us at the beginning or we didn’t read it anywhere the gratuity was added in. It would of been nice if they would have said at beginning.
Another wonderful chef's dinner. What's better than eating delicious, creative food with friends and improving the lives of people? Nothing.
I love FareStart!
Fare Start always delivers! Awesome food. Terrific service. You can’t go wrong. All for a good cause! Love that they have expanded, check out Maslow’s. Same place, different name! The chefs are doing awesome at Fare Start. We and my peer had a salads and they were terrific!
Delicious food and great ambiance. The service was a bit slow but otherwise excellent!
Entree salad was generous in portion, nicely presented with all ingredients fresh, clean and tasty with exception to the bay shrimp. Poor quality.
Our lunch was great and our server amazing. Sweet, calm, efficient and knowledgeable about the food.
Always a great dining experience and great value. They do such amazing work and community
Aside from having excellent food and service, Farestart is one of very few restaurants in downtown Seattle that accepts lunchtime reservations. Yesterday I easily got a table for two and was served and ate in 30 minutes (although I could have stayed longer had I wanted to). Great food, great service, eminently convenient, and all for a good cause. What more could you ask?
I am a fan of Chef Eric's so I wanted to support him and his efforts at FareStart. The food was delicious and my friend and I enjoyed our evening.
Was a totally enjoyable eating experience! The food and service was excellence with the bonus being it is a great program helping a needy population begin a new career!!
It had been awhile since I visited FareStart for lunch. The menu has expanded quite a bit. Despite the tempting new choices I went with the fieldroast sandwich and salad, my old favorite. Still excellent.
Good spot for lunch. Limited evening hours. Love to support an organization like FareStart and they have solid food options to boot!
Very pleasant. Comfortable space. Very good food. Outstanding service.
New Opentable password being required in not a pleasant experience.
Great place to meet for lunch. Good menu selections and food and service are great. It's also a plus that you are helping a good cause.
Really good food, exceptional service, great place for lunch. Will definitely be back.
We had a great time. The food was very good, the service was excellent and we were privileged to see a graduation. A lovely evening.
Amazing service, as always. I didn't see the hazelnut field roast on the menu, but the blackened salmon sandwich was delicious.
This was our first time and we’ll go back. Two of us had the blackened salmon sandwich, 1 with soup, 1 with Caesar salad - great sandwich! salmon cooked perfectly, fresh roll, great sauce, lentil soup too thin, not enough lentils and temp could been hotter - roasted salmon - fresh and cooked perfectly, size a little small. Server was awesome - genuine, smiled and efficient. The person who brought the food just set it down and left without a word which was strange. Our check was brought before asking if we wanted anything else. Knowing the mission, we consider any missteps minor and part of the learning. Good job you guys.
Great experience and good cause.
Guest Chef night was amazing! Great food and fun environment all for a good cause.
Was really a great meal. I love their tomato soup as it is so thick and delicious.
Had a great experience with the location and food.
Everything about the dining experience at FareStart was outstanding. And the student graduation was a highlight of the evening. How can you not love an organization that helps disadvantaged adults obtain training and employment in the food service industry. We'll definitely be back!
Best deal in downtown Seattle - 3course of delish and aesthetically-pleasing meal for a good cause, served by friendly and attentive volunteers! We can't wait to go back soon!
It was great and love the Fare Start goals. Good was great.
Seated quickly, excellent service, delicious food. Visited for a business lunch and will definitely be back.
we always love supporting FareStart ,love food . disappointed with the lack of service from our server never came to check on us never came to refill coffee till we asked several time. We have never had this experience in all the many times there won't keep us away, however.
Beyond an incredible mission of helping people get back on their feet, the menu is creative, well executed, and just plain delicious. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great lunch that will impact people's lives long after you finish dessert.
Guest chef night!
FareStart is a great place for lunch. Great food and a great cause.
Amazing restaurant! We were there on graduation night with a local chef. The food was outstanding and what they are doing for the community is incredible! Very impressive!
FareStart has always been an exceptual place to eat and guest chef night has a place in my
heart, listening to graduating students, how they got there and a greater hope for their future
There is truly a Mission here!!
I always have lunch here when I am in Seattle. I love that fact that the restaurant does outreach to the homeless and unemployed and trains them for restaurant service.
The service is impeccable, the food is tasty and very vegetarian friendly.
The carrot cake is the best I have ever eaten including the base of white chocolate.
Elisha was a great waitress! But restaurants are all about the food, and it doesn't matter if it is organic, sustainable, local, etc. etc. if the taste isn't there. My hamburger was okay, but nothing special. A trendy sauce of carrot to dip the fries in was elevating, but still not enough to make me want to go back. My boyfriend's catfish was also okay, but again, nothing special. A salad of greens with chicken ditto. And the most rude young ladies at the front desk!!!
Guest chef night was super fun and the business model is really admirable.
Fare Start is a great spot for lunch with friends. The food is good, and the menu creative. We shared 2 desserts among 4 friends and if we had to go it again, we would have ordered another!
Brought tears of joy, graduation ceremony did. We were looking for dinner. The reason for Fresh Start was the inspiration. Yes the food and ambiance was perfect too.
