Awesome! Creative, fresh, and clean food! The service was attentive, too! I would return here in a second!
Love this place! I chose it based on my dietary needs of options that are gluten dairy, dairy free, organic. Not everything on the menu is but the options are better than at other restaurants. Which makes it ideal if you are dining with people who don't have the restrictions. I was with a group of 8, some with dietary restrictions and some without...but EVERYONE loved their appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks! One of my new faves!
I have had brunch here twice, and it was terrific both times.
It was my fourth visit and one of two which were less than impressive.
The crab cakes were mediocre and the crumble more complex than needed.
The bisque was very good however.
The prices have gotten higher with no increase in quality.
It was also less crowded than earlier visits.
Maybe others agree.
Fresh, local ingredients. Good for vegetarians, too.
Great food, particularly wonderful for a vegetarian! Vegetable patties were delicious with wonderful fresh, unadorned green beans.
Four of us went to Fare last Saturday after a basketball game. We booked on Open Table. The table was about 15-20 mins.late and the manager treated us to a round of drinks. The food was EXCELLENT, the service terrific and the noise level was moderate. It was nice to go to dinner and not have to shout over the music. This is our third time there. We will definitely go again, and again, and again...... We highly recommend this restaurant!
Lovely room, with inexpensive art for sale on the walls. Nice, casual, professional service. Especially good -- crispy tuna roll, mixed greens, pork osso buco. Interesting wine list -- although they were out of several things. Very pleasant.
The food was great! Our waitress did not speak English so it was really hard ommunicating with her when we ordered. She old not tll us what was in the dishes and she forgot several things when we asked her, which was a bummer. The worst prt is we asked a candel on a piece of cake to celebrate a birthday and she never did it.
We were a group of 6 and I wouldn't suggest going any larger than 8 or 10. Small restaurant but great place. Service - attentive without being pushy. We had a vegetarian and pescatarian both were happy with the options, the restaurant made adjustments too. Food - we cleaned our plates. Flatbreads as appetizers for the table - a must. We had all 3 - the mushroom was the crowd favorite. Pricy for our group but we agreed that we'd do it again.
The food was terrible.
The Octopus plate had more potato in it than octopus.
The Bison burger was so over seasoned I could not finish it.
It was also very expensive.
I would not return to this restaurant.
this is 2nd time to fare, and I am more disappointed this time. the lobster flatbread was bland, soggy, and not a lot of lobster. The service was great, and atmosphere is nice, it is just a shame that the food lacks. New vision for the food is needed and then maybe I'll be back.
I was very excited a restaurant featuring organic and local farmers. We went for brunch. We had omelets that were tasteless, poorly made and the chocolate chip pancakes were also disappointing..
Really good restaurant with very tasty food.
We went to Fare last night and all four of us enjoyed our dinner immensely. Two of the group are vegetarians and there were so many options for them to choose from, and as many options for the non vegetarians to choose. The restaurant is warm and inviting and the food was all delicious. We look forward to going back soon!
Food was great and the service was good too. I asked for a mocktail (cocktail with no alcohol) and they brought me a mix of cranberry juice, orange juice and sprite which was not very exciting but at least something to drink. The chocolate mocha mousse was delicious!
was beter the last time we were there.....food okay, but not remarkable
First time dining at Fare and really like it....will return.
Three of us dined and share all three orders. We have Lobster Mac and Cheese, delicious..very smoky tasting with ham, bacon, and multiple cheese. Yummm.
We shared the salad the flank steak and flat bread as well.
My husband and I had dined at Fare several times when the restaurant had originally opened. Back then, we found the dishes to be hit-or-miss and without any true consistency in preparation or flavor profile. This time, our meal was more consistent. However, the dishes from the sea bass to the macaroni and cheese were forgettable. Unfortunately, the restaurant's name remains eponymous.
the food was good, but not great. went here for lunch and had a nice time, but was not blown away. maybe this place is better for dinner as lunch menu and food was only above average
Great experience again. Every time I go I love it. Our guest said "this is the best dinner I have had in a long time"
excellent food, quality, taste and attractive plates. portions a bit small. good beer list too. very attentive waiters.
Delicious organic food prepared and served in an appetizing manner.
This restaurant is beautiful and the staff is super nice and friendly. The food was just okay. I chose this restaurant because my boyfriend and I do not eat meat so it can be challenging to find restaurants with great vegetarian options. We each had the two vegetarian options, and they were just okay. I'd say his orange seitan was better than my veggie cakes. On the other hand, the grilled cheese and tomato soup appetizer was really good! I'd consider going back for that...and a glass a wine.
Very nice evening, late on a Sunday night. They did not pressure us to leave, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. Best of all, very quiet!
Delicious, organic meal delivered in a bright environment with local artists' works on display.
After taking a tour of the Eastern State Penitentiary, it was nice to warm up in Fare. Our dinners were tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. The staff is accommodating if you want to switch sides on entrees, which I did appreciate.
The two of us were seated in the middle of the restaurant and were placed at table sitting 90 degrees to each other... was quite awkward. the benefit of this is we could actually hear each other in conversation.
Great place, great service. I wished that the waitress would have not recommend it the bison burger. It was terrible.
I has heard alot of bad reviews and regard to service, but the restaurant must have gotten the message. We went there for Thanksgiving day and the service couldn't have been more attentive. The manager even came around to check on how we were enjoying our meal. The food was very good, but not incredible for higher price tag.
One of our neighborhood favorites!
I just don't get why this place gets so many awesome reviews. One of the waiters throw the plate of hummus in our table like he was feeding his cat.
The food was good but over priced for what you get.
Wonderful Nova and White Fish platter. Perfect!
I am vegetarian and my wife is vegan. Menu was great. Wonderful wine selection
I love to dine in all sorts of restaurants just as much as I love to cook at home. Very often I have enjoyed the food and service but
the overall experience was ruined by the loud music being piped over my head via a speaker, thus prohibiting me to have a relaxed,
intimate conversation with my friend. NOT SO AT FARE!!! I scheduled a lunch date with 3 of my dear friends at FARE, wanting
to catch up on all the news in their lives as I don't see them often enough. For once I was not disappointed! We did not have to struggle
to have conversation or hear each other. The music was barely discernable, if there at all. The food and service was excellent. We
had a relaxing 3 hour lunch and never felt rushed to leave by any staff member. Than
Fare has a great beer list, a good (albeit pricey) cocktail selection, and a fairly big wine list. The food was well prepared and delicious. Great selections for vegetarians - we chose mushroom flatbread, arugula salad, seitan, and mushroom cakes, all of which were great, with the flatbread being our favorite.
Service was prompt and friendly, overall atmosphere wasn't too loud, but loud enough that you could feel the energy of the place. I'd go out to Fare again, and highly recommend it to others.
Went to Fare on a recommendation from a friend. While I enjoyed the food and the drinks, I was disappointed in the service. The server was very inexperienced. We ordered a bottle of wine and after the original pour, she never came back to refill the glasses. Someone in the party ordered a drink and didn't like it. Instead of taking it back, she just shrugged it off and moved on. I will give Fare another try, but hopefully the service will be much improved.
Fare had unique cocktails and delicious food! We tried a cocktail made with pineapple infused white rum, coconut water and thai basil. Highly recommended. Dinner was delicious and well seasoned. Portions were good for the price, we even had some food left to take home (ordered two dishes and a salad between us). Yay Fare!
Mixed review. This was our first time at Fare, so hopefully the poor service is not a normal occurance.
This is a really interesting place - vibrant and "cool" atmosphere, interesting people, excellent and creative food... wonderful in all respects except for the fact that we waited over 45 minutes for our table (and we had a reservation), and then the time it took for our order to get to our table was ridiculously long.
Our waiter was great - it wasn't his fault - there was apparently a problem in the kitchen. The host was apologetic and gave us a complementary round of drinks - they all tried to make the best of it, as did we. But that was a definite damper.
Loved it; manager John is great.
