Happy hour was not great value, small quantities for the food. The cocktails were poorly made.
Very impressed we’ll be back!
Great food and reasonable HH prices
Hostess was young & untrained - she was sweet and pleasant but not very helpful. We were seated 1/2 hour before food service began. Asked if we could order drinks & were given water with a promise of a server. 15 minutes later I approached the bartender to ask if we could order drinks! She found a server & from there on in it was a fantastic time. Our server, Elliot was excellent- he even ran & got us some paper menus! The food was delicious- every course. I would definitely return, but not before 4:30 when food service began. Thanks Elliot for making my husbands 70th birthday a success 🎂
Sat outside on a beautiful Saturday evening, so the ambiance was excellent. Healthy portions with appetizers & entrees, all food was well prepared and drinks were very good.
Our server did a great job of allowing our conversation to flow while providing attentive service without being intrusive.
Added to my list of local favorites👍🏾🙂
Aways my go to restaurant when friends are in town. Love it!
Have eaten here before; usually reliable so brought some out of town friends on a Saturday night. Surprisingly not terribly busy but service was slow. We got food menus right away but not drink menus. When server finally showed up to take drink order, she was annoyed we didn't have drink menus, and stormed away. Tuna tartare was good flavor but had some obvious tough tendons that shouldn't have made it in the dish. Octopus appetizer was very nice! Friends were very happy with their food; but I ordered vegetable ravioli that was bland. So it was fair evening at Fare ;) A bit disappointing visit but would still come back.
Really great restaurant, delicious food, nice atmosphere and great cocktails. We also had good service
Great food. Our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. Food is worth the price
Fare has an AWESOME happy hour! Super discounted cocktails, wine, and snacks. Easy to share stuff, too. I will say, though, that the oysters I got were a little funky which was kind of disappointing. They didn't make me sick or anything - they just weren't the best quality. Everything else was delicious! Highly recommend the Farmhouse Flatbread, the friend shrimp, and the calamari.
The food here is consistently amazing. We come here frequently.
The “small plates” were larger than the entrees! Octopus was excellent and tender. Crab cakes delicious. Zucchini and eggplant fries were thin and crispy, not greasy. Fish tacos just OK.
Fare is a neighborhood, been there maybe 10 times, so post-pandemic, it's hard to give a five-or four-star rating. The one waitstaff fellow did a yeoman's job, was pleasant and very good. Likely because of cut-backs,the dining room has been reduced, a curtain separating the kitchen, or parts of it, from the main restaurant. And there's the rub. The clatter, the banging, the racket from behind the curtain almost rendered conversation among three people difficult, at times impossible. Surely things are not so bad that something can't be done about reducing the noise level, not from the talking of guests but from what at times must be a decibel level of 100. At least twice, dishes fell either to the floor or inside a container. It would be very sad to have this compromise the appeal of an otherwise fine restaurant.
We ordered fish tacos, watermelon salad, chicken, mussels and sushi roll. Everything was good but service was slow.
Happy hour choices are great.
It took a while to get our order taken, but once it was, our food came promptly and it was delicious!
Cute place in great area, Fairmout. However, the food was bland.
I wanted to love Fare because it seems like a neighborhood gem in so many ways, but I was severely disappointed with the food. My asparagus wasn’t trimmed, my friend’s pasta was overcooked and soggy, my potatoes had clearly been reheated so the texture was all off, and overall everything just wasn’t very flavorful. With entree prices in the $30s, I was really expecting more :(
Our waitress, Olivia was great! Attentive, friendly but not overbearing.
Went for their happy hour menu which had a wide variety of food & drink. Like the fact their happy hour is longer than a lot of other restaurants from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
This is a great casual light choice. The flatbreads were excellent as was the assortment of spreads. We had those And a delicious watermelon salad and it was perfect for a warm evening outside. Service was aloof but efficient.
Great place to dine. Service very customer oriented.
The food at Fare is always very tasty, making it a pleasure to go there. We sat outside which was pleasant but surprisingly noisy. Granted it was a Saturday night but the motorcycles and big engine cars were really annoying and intrusive. Inside would have been much better. The service was surprisingly poor - Fare usually does better that that. We sat for quite a while before anyone came over, and no one ever asked if we wanted anything other than water to drink - at any point while we were there. (While we didn't need anything, I would have ordered something if asked.) It was pretty obvious that all we had was water, and our water glasses were empty for the second half of our meal before we could get anyone's attention to fill them. Even just asking the question "Does anyone want anything else do drink?" should have come up at least a couple of times. Since restaurants make a good bit of their profit from beverage sales, this was pretty glaring. Just seemed very inattentive and uncaring about providing even a modest level of service. Thankfully the food was delicious, and we were happy to just enjoy our friends' company. Please do better, Fare.
Fare is a great place to unwind. The food was delicious and the service was perfect.
Olivia was the best server. great service. happy hour menu was perfect. very good value for the price
Beet salad was delicious, otherwise food (ravioli, salmon) was OK. I'd say not quite worth the price, but a good option if you just want a solid meal and are willing to spend on it.
Fine meal, though not outstanding. Good service.
Food was very good, but it got cold waiting for utensils. Had to ask twice for the menu, the app wasn’t working. The most attentive was the busboy.
Fare is always a great place to eat. The outdoor cover keeps you comfy in all weather and the servers are pleasant and helpful. The menu has a great variety and the food is tasty.
Fabulous brunch! I especially enjoyed the guava mimosas!
The food was just off that day. Usually really good
Mushroom flatbread was terrific. Fish tacos also very good. We went for Saturday lunch but menu was limited to brunch. Nice outside dining right across from cool Eastern State Penitentiary historical site. Good neighborhood. Friendly staff.
Outside seating was good. Service was a little slow because of the number of people dining. The waiter was very good but exceedingly busy.
Had a great time there. First trip to Philly and some family who live there suggested we try their brunch. Their patio was perfect for a party of six to go out in the cold rainy weather. Our server was really friendly and professional. The food was fantastic and enough for two meals. I would definitely eat there again.
Excellent food experience
Food was fantastic, the live music was loud but created a great atmosphere. The service was great, attentive but not overbearing. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Their drinks are refreshing. A really wonderful experience!
Great service and great food would be great for brunch or just a date
Fare is a great neighborhood spot—it was so fun last night. The bronzino and crab cakes are all we ever order. Excellent. Also recommend the octopus appetizer.
Food was delicious. I got the crab cakes and my companion had chicken . Both meals were well prepared and nicely presented. The cocktails were tasty as well.
We were outside and it was a hot day so it was a little overly warm, but thrilled they have outdoor/covered seating. They were out of what I wanted to order (avocado toast), so that was a little disappointing, but I ordered mushroom flatbread and that was delicious. Family next to us had a yappy dog, but we are dog lovers so that was OK. All in all, a very good city, outdoor dining experience!
Great place to eat. Food and service were excellent.
