Friendly staff with live music on Wednesday nights. The food was delicious, the salads larger than expected. I also had a meat and cheese board. It could have done with a variety of meats and cheeses rather than 1 of each. But what was there was very good.
Fare is wonderful. The food is great, the drinks are great the owner is the man. Live music every Wed is awesome.
We chose Fare "in the dark" via reviews of all types on the web and because we needed a restaurant close to The Met, a 15-minute walk. We couldn't have been luckier. As my foodie daughter and son-in-law said, every menu item comprised very high-quality ingredients. The proof was in the tasting of the wide variety of our choices - feta cheese appetizer, fresh oysters, a whole roasted branzino, steamed mussels, clams and crab, lamb chops, and another roasted fish. All delicious. And so substantial, we had no room for dessert. Next time! And the service was perfect. Thank you, Fare.
This was one of the first restaurants we tried in Philadelphia for brunch. We had an amazing waitress, Danielle, who was able to handle a group of 8 people right when Fare opened on Saturday morning. The food was amazing and the service was incredible.
The food was well prepared and felt clean and healthy. The staff was great. The menu leans heavily on seafood. Offering a few more non-seafood selections would appeal to more people in a group.
Service was great and the food was very, very good. The octopus, salmon and seafood pasta got strong reviews from everyone at the table.
Very nice. People and food were great.
The food was good, but it seems that the restaurants was out of many items we wanted to order. We thought that they should have let us know when we arrived that it wasn’t a complete menu that night.
Best mussels/clams I've had. Food was delicious, nice quiet patio outside. Friendly servers.
Great dinner with family! The food was wonderful and our server fantastic. Highly recommend for easy night out!
This is our annual father's day brunch location and we always enjoy it.
Food service and seating all great!
Sat outdoors...very nice evening...good drinks and food.......
Great food! everyone enjoyed everything, from the tuna tartare, to the flatbread to the filleted branzino and everything in between! Made for a nice family evening.
We sat outside and as always the food was awesome and the service was great. Inside was a bit noisy but outside was quiet enough. This place has a casual feel to it but the food is very special. They always have different dishes in addition to the regular menu which is nice.
Enjoyed a delicious early dinner. I had the whole branzino, grilled to perfection 😋My husband had very tasty avocado crab cakes. The food was prepared and served beautifully and the prices were moderate. Lovely bright atmosphere and pleasant staff. Oh can’t forget the wine 🍷 reduced price on bottled wine Monday thru Thursday 😀
Wonderful dining experience. Great service and atmosphere!
Fish tacos were delicious and the service was perfect. FARE has such a lovely side garden so it was a bit disconcerting to be at a table on the sidewalk. Still, dining outside on the nice days is a treat.
Love the food and beer variety and the location (on-street parking works too!)
Excellent restaurant! Food is the tops, the service is wonderful, and the location is excellent with Philadelphia art museum close by and a paid parking lot if no street parking is available.
If you have not gone to the restaurant by now, ...you should!
Fare is a wonderful restaurant in Fairmount. The food is always excellent, the staff is amazing, very personable and helpful. The ambiance is always great live music every Wed. Every time we go we love every dish we order.
Our favorite Fairmount restaurant.
This was my first visit to Fare and I found it to be a charming neighborhood restaurant. The soft shells were good but small and the greens were bagged spinach with too much olive oil . The drinks were done very well and the service was good.
Disappointing, overall. The outside patio is lovely, but the food and service were a letdown, especially given the pricing.
Fare is a great place to go for a nice meal with excellent indoor and outdoor seating. We have been there half a dozen times and it is very well run.
Great food. Fresh ingredients, excellent options. Will return again.
Wish the food was as good as the service and atmosphere.
We went for brunch and say outside in a cute covered space. The server and the manager (owner?) were sweet and attentive. The eggs were too well done and flavorless :(. I will prob try again in the future.
Good place - we did Mother’s Day with the in-laws and my birthday!
The food was descent and reasonably priced. However, service was very slow. It seemed like they were a bit understaffed during Mother's Day brunch, which was a shame.
Saturday evening meal with family, bar is great , the bar hosts are wonderful. The w@itstaff was also attentive and friendly. Some of the food was not up to par. Beets might have been straight from a jar and cut into quarters. The spinach leaves were simply sautéed in some bland oil without removing the fibrous stems. The pork chops were 1/4 inch slices , cooked to the consistency of leather. The beet salad was a pile of Harvard beets with a sliver of goat cheese. The Mediterranean flat bread consisted of artichoke hearts, again could be from a jar, without any further prep. To be “FARE” my guests that got the pasta dish seemed to be happy and someone ordered the crab cakes and they were amply stuffed with crab meat, but again those boring beets and ill prepared spinach. Seven persons, a few beers and a glass of wine and some sodas, two appetizers , and 7 entrees came to about 360 dollars . Next time I’ll stick with a burger and beer in their enclosed outdoor setting. It looks inviting.
Excellent food, drinks, and service
We went out to Fare today for brunch. We always have a great meal. I had the fish tacos, which I love! I have Celiac Disease and this place knows about cross contamination. I have never become sick. My husband ordered the scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. The portions are very generous. My mother ordered the French toast. She thought it was delicious! The service was excellent. I always enjoy eating at this place!
My wife and I had a good dinner, but it could have been great. The first food item sent was complimentary grilled bread with grassy, peppery extra virgin olive oil. It looked inviting, however, it was clear as soon as we touched the bread that it wasn't freshly grilled. It felt and tasted like it had been grilled at least an hour earlier. It was very soft and barely room temperature when it should have been crunchy and warm. This was a disappointing first impression, especially when grilling bread to order takes little time.
APPS - I had the octopus appetizer and it was fantastic. The tentacles were sliced before charring which gave them a wonderful crisp texture that reminded me of bacon. I loved it! My wife got the beet salad, which was bountiful, but the beets tasted watery as if they were cut and boiled, not roasted. It was OK.
MAINS - My wife got the mussels & clams and it was pretty tasty. The broth had crabmeat and chunks of salami that elevated the dish. However, the grilled bread that is so vital for dunking into the broth was the same tired grilled bread that we were served at the beginning of the meal. All the things that you get with freshly grilled bread were missing and so the dish suffered. A ground rule double instead of a home run. I got the flank steak and it was a perfect medium rare, as I had ordered. However, the steak was desperately under-seasoned and topped with a lifeless chimichurri sauce. I had to add lots of salt and pepper.
DESSERT - We walked down the street and had delicious ice cream.
The service was wonderful. I had branzino for my entrée. It was absolutely delicious. My server informed me that the chef is Greek. I could taste the Mediterranean in his food.
Waiter was horribly rude
Great service and delicious food
We’ve dined at Fare several times in the past and always had tasty meals; my guess is they changed chefs since the last time as the food was not very good at all. I had the flank steak which was unusually fatty, tough to chew, and needed salt. The brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes were bland at best. The other dish was avocado crab cakes with beets and brussels. The beets were the best part of that meal from what I was told. The service was decent once the waitress came to the table after a longer wait period than normal. Overall it was disappointing and hopefully just an off-night.
Fare is an excellent restaurant with amazing food and always good service!
Excellent- this was my third time dining here and the food and service was outstanding ✅
Good all around experience. I’d dine there again in the near future!
