We always enjoy our experience at the Far Western Tavern. The food is always great as is the service. We love the western decor and country music playing throughout the restaurant. It’s a 30 min drive (each way) and worth every mile!

The bar is very noisy, but the beautiful old back bar is a must-see if you like that kind of thing. The restaurant is moderately noisy, and decorated with steer heads and quality western art. The servers were very attentive. We went for the Restaurant Week 2019 special, which was a good value, as well as the Wednesday half-off bottle of wine special. The regular menu seems a bit pricey though. It was a pleasant evening.

Great steaks and service. Our server was Tamra and she is friendly, welcoming, and very helpful selecting items from menu and wine list. That was the second time she helped us and we had wonderful steak dinner.
The rest of the support staff were very good and attentive.

I have been at Taverns before but never on a Sunday. I really didn't like their family menu. The buttermilk fried chicken was not well cooked and it didn't have any flavor. Also you don't have a lot of options to choose from. No kids menu? Plus high price for the type of food you are getting. I was very disappointed of the food quality. I don't think I will be going back. The service was great but the most important part which it was the food was not like before.

Service was off the night we went. Our drink order didn't come out almost until we got our dinner. The sides (bread and beans) for dinner arrived halfway through dinner itself. The filets were overcooked. For a medium, it had no pink in it. The flavor was still good on everything we had. We never made a fuss about it, but they did apologize for the mix ups as they stacked up and took the drinks off the bill. That part was cool since we didn't bring up any of the issues.

Besides the front end service where we were greeted by a teenager. It was very good we later let the management know about the lack of professionalism and it was immediately handled we appreciate the chef's response. This was my 6th time back I will be back again thank you Far West for keeping your restaurant on top of its game.

In early December we made a reservation for four at table #1 for Jan 5th. Upon arrival at 5:50 p.m. with our out of town guests were were informed that table #1 was occupied. We waited 40 minutes feeling extremely uncomfortable with our guests. Finally we were seated at table #1 and informed that "they were out of chicken", later "they were out of clam chowder". We paid $140.00 and although charmed by the efficient waiter, Errol Guidry, we were extremely upset about our reservation not being held for us....why have a reservation system? We noted that several other people came in and their reservations were not honored and they were offered a seat in the bar. We love the Far Western and hopefully this will be a one time occurrence and not deter us and friends from dining in such an attractive establishment.

This was my first time eating at Far Western. The food was great, but the service was awful. We were seated and water filled. Then our waiter came to our table and said "What are we having?" I am used to dining experiences where the waiter introduces themselves and asks for drink orders first or explains the menu for the evening. The food was brought out in the wrong order. However, the food tasted great and my steak was perfect. Our waiter also told us to "just flag me down when you need something" so we spent the night asking other servers for things like a fork and more water since we didn't see the waiter again until he dropped the check, even though we wanted to see a dessert menu. Not the service I was expecting for a dinner where I spent $150.

The food was great. The new waiter, Arie, was fun and personable. The drinks from the bar took forever. We asked for them 3 times, it arrived after we finished our salad which was served after the shrimp cocktail.

We have been going to Farm Western Tavern for many years and look forward to continuing to enjoy the great restaurant. The venue is beautiful, warm and friendly. We like to go in early and can usually sit in the bar if we don't have reservations,, but if we go in later we always book thru open table. It is quick and efficient and have never had a bad experience.

Food and service was very good. When making the reservation your site said LUNCH was served on Saturday. We looked at the lunch menu in order to decide to book a reservation. We were shocked when we were handed a BRUNCH menu. Luckily our waitress checked and we were able to order off the regular lunch menu (at least what we could remember of what we had read on your site). Since we had people from out of town meeting us, it could have been a real disappointment (although they ended up ordering off the brunch menu, they at least had options). So thank you to our waitress and your kitchen staff.

As usual,FWT was very good. Their wedge salad is outstanding and very filling.The burgers were delicious and cooked perfectly to taste. The service was a little off but other than that the experience was delightful.

First let me say overall we enjoyed our dinner, but our bill for two people was right at $75 and that is high end in this neighborhood and lends to high expectations. Our salad was served before we were finished with our shrimp cocktails, and then there was a significant wait until the main course arrived. I ordered the tri-tip (medium) and it arrived well done. At that point the waiter said our beans and bread would be right out. Halfway thru our meal we had to ask the fellow pouring water for the beans and bread. I am not mentioning these things as a complaint but constructive criticism.

We were celebrating my inlaw's 42nd wedding anniversary and our own 21st wedding anniversary so we made reservations as we have done in the past. We enjoy the atmosphere and the attention to detail here, but unfortunately this time we had an extremely long wait for our meals on this special day. The staff and main chef took notice of this and apologized profusely which seemed very sincere. What impressed us more than the food quality was their way of showing how sorry they were for the long wait, they took care of our ENTIRE BILL. We enjoyed the meal and appreciated this treatment. My father inlaw's steak was undercooked but I am sure it was all due to the unknown error made in the kitchen. We will return and give them another try in the future mainly because they took the time to make it right.

My only disappointment was the limited choice menu on Sunday. Choosing to stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I would have preferred if the online menu had indicated clearly that the Sunday menu was different.

There was a group that was excessively loud which completely impacted our experience. I understand they were celebrating, but perhaps they should've chosen a different venue to yell, use profanities and act obnoxious. It was rude and incredibly inconsiderate. I hold the restaurant responsible as they were aware they were acting in this manner and continued to allow it to continue. We finally had to request a different table because we couldn't hold a simple conversation.

Food was excellent and our waiter was awesome.

My son was in from San Diego, we all know that SD has great restaurants had to take them somewhere special. They were impressed and our dinner was great. Love having this caliber of restaurant in our home town.

Service was great, waitress was excellent , side dishes were good. The only bad thing was I ordered a steak medium well and my steak was very well done. My husband ordered medium well and his steak was medium rare. He sent it back and it was still undercooked. He didn’t want to send it back a second time so he only ate half of his 45$ steak

We ate here about a year ago and it was excellent. This time, not so much. Service was slow. We were a party of 4 and the relish tray would at best serve a party of 2. Bread was tiny. The food was good but nothing spectacular. Cappuccino at end of meal was luke warm. Indicated through open table that it was a birthday celebration but was not acknowledged.

We had a wonderful time! Our waiter, Brian was very attentive. Our friends were impressed as they had heard that the food was not that great. We met the chef who was delightful. The food was topnotch! And being a Sunday night, i thought it would be quiet but quite the opposite. There seemed to be a festive air, people enjoying their dining in a pleasant way. Fixed menu on Sundays which i was not aware of but the choices were amazing and more than enough to eat family style! I can't wait to go again.

This was my second time having dinner in less than two months and I was not disappointed...again! Had the signature ribeye and it was grilled to perfection and seasoned deliciously! Would have loved to try the special “Tomahawk Chop” but I had to get back on the road. Errol, our server, was friendly, polite and attentive. Had a chance to visit with GM Marna again and what a wonderful person. Though I’m a San Diego native, she makes you feel welcomed, like I’m a local. So glad I stopped by to eat and look so forward to another stop! Far Western gets 5 Stars!!!

My mother in law took us for our 41st wedding anniversary. It was super except one thing .They had the 6 oz filet I had the 12 oz filet,with the lobster tail. I was asked how I would like my steak, I said Rare. What I got was a $51 steak closer to medium than med rare. But I had asked for rare. This is the first time I’ve been to the Far Western that I didn’t get a perfectly prepared steak. I didn’t make an issue with it as my mother in law was paying and I didn’t want her knowing my anniversary dinner she was paying for was not the normal great Far Western steak. The rest of the meal as I said was super the lobster,the other steaks the sides. So were I normally give Five stars I could only go four.

We stopped here on our way to Cambria, for a late lunch.
EXCELLENT food, we had two types of burgers, a soup and salad Anya glass of wine.
Friendly service, professional as well., casual atmosphere, quiet and pristine clean restaurant.
Highly recommend it if you are in the area.

First time we had dinner here since they moved to their new location. This place did not disappoint! Everyone from the hostesses, bartender, servers were so friendly and attentive. Even had the chef stop by our table to check on us. Our drinks and entrees were prepared to perfection. The dessert menu looked good but we were too full to order. The only negative was the price of a glass of house wine; too high for the quality. We will be back!
