    This was our second year going to Far Western for Thanksgiving. The food was good. The service was excellent. The price for the meal was a little pricey and the dessert should have been included with the meal. The price was expensive for the dessert. Overall we enjoyed our meal.

    A great Thanksgiving meal with a choice of turkey or prime rib with more than enough sides on the plate to be overflowing. The dinner started with a nice shrimp cocktail and a wonderful garden salad as well.

    Our waitress was amazing! So sweet and personable! I don't remember her name but I know her mom was working the bar on thanksgiving! They both are so pleasant!

    The steaks here are fantastic! This time I tried their salmon and I was pleasantly surprised how fabulous it was! The meal was sooo big I could only eat half, which makes a wonderful leftover the next day. The a lot Brice was great, as usual.

    Hope was our server and she was excellent. We’ve never had service as well as this place. My husband and I both decided to get the clam chowder which was pretty good and I had filet mignon and he had top sirloin. We always love the food here and everything you get. I had two old fashions with Buffalo trace bourbon. Excellent. I’m always too full to have dessert too bad.

    Very nice steak house to dine at. The staff is great and always trying to do their best to make your dinner a nice experience. Andrea, Tami in the bar is the best and Manny in the dining room is awesome. Thanks for putting Orcutt on the map for excellent dining.

    Food was good as expected. The service was unnecessarily slow. It was so slow that it almost felt deliberate. Everything from getting our seat up to receiving the final check was extremely slow. The hostess finally stepped in and expeditiously brought us our shrimp cocktail and salads (thank you) Which just confirmed the service was horrible as the food was ready and waiting for someone to just bring it to us. The restaurant was only about half full so no excuse there. Unfortunately we will give Far Western a pass next time we are in Orcutt/SM area and go to the Hitching Post.

    I had the worst experience where we sat for 25 minutes without being served or asked for our drinks and dinner order. So we left.

    Had a very nice experience at the Far Western, food and service were excellent, you could carry a conversation without being drowned out by a lot of noise which is the case in some establishments. Nothing bad to say at all, will be back.

    Most of the time our steaks are cooked to perfection; however, this time our medium steaks were medium-rare. Maybe it was because they were very thick cuts or maybe they have a new chef? We didn’t want the hassle of sending them back so we took half of our steaks home . The next day I recooked the steaks to made salads. We’ll have to ask for medium-well next time.

    Plenty of food with your order. Options were quite limited compared to the internet menu which was disappointing … was really looking forward to a grilled artichoke. The filet was a bit undercooked, more rare than medium rare. The pork chop was dry, and had cinnamon cooked apples instead of applesauce, which I would have preferred. And the ribs smell delicious, but didn’t taste quite as good. The appetizer came in second, macaroni and cheese, chili, Reno, and the overall winner of the meal was actually the dinner salad. Home made ranch and blue cheese dressings and croutons were delicious. Our server, Emmanuel, was friendly and attentive. A bit pricey, but a good experience overall.

    Outstanding in every way! Unsurpassed service! Highest quality in all courses, including steak skewers, linguica and onion ring appetizers, salmon and rack of lamb main courses. Beautiful dining room and bar in their relatively new location in Orcutt. Highly recommended! Looking forward to returning again soon!

    Good food, good service but of course, it's noisy. I wish they would open back up for breakfast and lunch again but apparently they've only been serving dinner since they opened after Covid.

    This is an old style steakhouse. Start with relish tray and you get a bay shrimp cocktail with most entrees as well as a large starter salad or soup. Great tasting food.

    Food and service was excellent but side dishes were a little pricey. It’s sad that restaurants want to charge so much now. More people would eat out if everything wasn’t so ridiculously expensive.

    We went with friends and had the tri-tip dinner and halibut dinner. Plenty of food, cooked to order. Because we were with friends this time, we didn’t notice the slow kitchen as much. Far Western is much better with lots of company, in this manner. Otherwise, food and service were good.

    Our small group of close friends appreciated being seated in a semi-private area off the main dining room to celebrate our special occasion. Our server, Manny, was excellent, as always, and the food was delicious. From the hostess to the bartender, to the rest of the staff, the service was top notch on this visit.

    The steak at Far Western is consistently excellent. Definitely the best in the area. The restaurant also has nice decor and feels very comfortable. My only criticism is that service is often very slow. We sat for quite a while without a server approaching and waited a long time for drinks. Not the server’s fault I know but this place is always busy and should have a better plan for managing the bar. It didn’t help that the restaurant was also hosting a very large (20) birthday group that was obnoxiously loud. That group needed to be in a separate room.
