Most of the time our steaks are cooked to perfection; however, this time our medium steaks were medium-rare. Maybe it was because they were very thick cuts or maybe they have a new chef? We didn’t want the hassle of sending them back so we took half of our steaks home . The next day I recooked the steaks to made salads. We’ll have to ask for medium-well next time.

Plenty of food with your order. Options were quite limited compared to the internet menu which was disappointing … was really looking forward to a grilled artichoke. The filet was a bit undercooked, more rare than medium rare. The pork chop was dry, and had cinnamon cooked apples instead of applesauce, which I would have preferred. And the ribs smell delicious, but didn’t taste quite as good. The appetizer came in second, macaroni and cheese, chili, Reno, and the overall winner of the meal was actually the dinner salad. Home made ranch and blue cheese dressings and croutons were delicious. Our server, Emmanuel, was friendly and attentive. A bit pricey, but a good experience overall.

Outstanding in every way! Unsurpassed service! Highest quality in all courses, including steak skewers, linguica and onion ring appetizers, salmon and rack of lamb main courses. Beautiful dining room and bar in their relatively new location in Orcutt. Highly recommended! Looking forward to returning again soon!

This is an old style steakhouse. Start with relish tray and you get a bay shrimp cocktail with most entrees as well as a large starter salad or soup. Great tasting food.

We went with friends and had the tri-tip dinner and halibut dinner. Plenty of food, cooked to order. Because we were with friends this time, we didn’t notice the slow kitchen as much. Far Western is much better with lots of company, in this manner. Otherwise, food and service were good.

Our small group of close friends appreciated being seated in a semi-private area off the main dining room to celebrate our special occasion. Our server, Manny, was excellent, as always, and the food was delicious. From the hostess to the bartender, to the rest of the staff, the service was top notch on this visit.

The steak at Far Western is consistently excellent. Definitely the best in the area. The restaurant also has nice decor and feels very comfortable. My only criticism is that service is often very slow. We sat for quite a while without a server approaching and waited a long time for drinks. Not the server’s fault I know but this place is always busy and should have a better plan for managing the bar. It didn’t help that the restaurant was also hosting a very large (20) birthday group that was obnoxiously loud. That group needed to be in a separate room.

Wasvery disappointed as i think the restaurant wansn't prepared for such a crowd. We waited over an hour for our food to be served to us and my order was not cooked to my liking but I did not want to wait another hour so I accepted what should have been a medium cut prime rib to a well done piece.

Food was great and service was good. Unfortunately we got sat next to a father and son which is not bad but the child continuously screamed at the top of his lungs without the father saying anything and then the child got into a phone which was turned up extremely loud. We have been there before and this was not the case, this was just a one time experience.

Our server was Jordan and although she’d was very busy, pet up with our order and drinks. All the wait staff were good, filling our water and clearing plates. I had 2 Elijah Craig Old Fashion, first one better than the second. My husband had an IPA and said was OK. I always get the filet mignon, salad blues cheese and bake potato. Love everything except the beans that come with it. My husband had a 14oz Cowboy with leftovers. He didn’t care for any of the sides, so Jordan suggested clam chowder, which was a great choice. Service slower than usual, had. Big Wedding Party upstairs.
